Furious with Amerigas. . . We have been a customer for at least 12 years. We no longer have a propane heater for our pool and I called for a pick up. After calling twice for a pick up, they filled my tank with propane once again. and charged our credit card. Then I called for a pick up and a refund. They have since picked up the tank and owed me $487.00 refund. They are now telling me they are charging me $313.98 as a pick up fee. It has been four months with many calls. They just did everything in their power to try and eat up our refund. What a joke! Don't use Amerigas if you have another option!!!!!! We now have an electric pool heater and love it. Also, the final bill they just e-mailed me yesterday (upon request) is dated 1/16/24 and states that my refund is due and to allow four weeks. What a joke as it has been almost 5 months. read more

Worst company ever we've been out of gas for 6 days put a request for delivery on Oct 2 when we were at 30% and we're on auto delivery WTF

Change to electric instead! When I bought my property there was a propane tank left there for the hot water and stove that we used for a bit (and paid for) but we eventually changed everything to electric causing us not to need gas anymore. We sold the house and left the tank that was left to us and Amerigas is now charging me for picking up the tank and sent me to collections. I've spoken to them several times and they keep confirming it's a mistake but everytime I turn around there's another collections call for the same thing. AMERIGAS: get your stuff together! A copy of today's email to Ameri Gas. See if I actually hear back from someone. Hello, I had a delivery and tank inspection scheduled today for my home. I was told it would be an afternoon delivery, and I would get a phone call when the driver was on the way to my house, as I was at work, less than 10 minutes away. I never received a phone call, but your driver showed up on my security cameras at 11:53 AM. I immediately left work, and was at the house at 12:00 PM, but the driver was already gone. I have tried to call several times since then, but after waiting on hold for about 20 minutes each time, the calls were disconnected. Please contact me so that this can be taken care of. read more

They took our tanks because we didn't use enough propane.. promised a refund for rental i just paid... then cus service said i didnt get a refund because they billed in the rears, my annual payment was for last year... and they couldn't tell me how much my refund for gas was!!!! Correction 32$ a share but should be $.32 Amerigas is the largest company in the US that sells propane. They employ about eight thousand workers and report income in excess of three billion dollars, and currently trade at about 0.32$ a share. Some of Ameritrade income comes from transferring accounts from an owner or renter to a person who has absolutely no vested interest in the property on which another company has placed propane tanks. In my case, they transferred the account from Florida Public Utilities, a company I have been doing business with for twenty years, then capped off the tank supplying my guest house which is likely going to result in the loss of at least one client who showed up to negotiate a new contract, and found the guest house without propane. The person they elect to transfer the account to collects a refund for the gas remaining in the tanks that they remove and replace with their own. All attempts to resolve this issue have been stonewalled by Amerigas, subsidiary of UGI, in King ofPrussia PA, and Brooksville FL. I have filed a complaint with The Florida Attorney General and The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE). However, the prospect of any action from those sources is improbable. It appears to me that Amerigas is conducting a national scam facilitated by the very people who are responsible for protecting consumers. read more

0 stars would be an over-rating for this company. We first moved to Florida in 2014 and got a small rental house in Spring Hill. Electric was through WREC and we had propane and it was turned off, so no hot water, no dryer and no stove. Nobody could tell us who the supplier was, not even Amerigas. After several fruitless calls, I got in touch with a private propane guy who came over, turned the gas on and we were back in business. He told me to wait a few weeks and we'll find out who our propane supplier is. Lo and behold, one day an Amerigas guy comes to the door and tells us "Oh, there's been a mistake, your gas shouldn't be on" and proceeds to turn it off again. Can't turn it back on that same day, had to wait almost a week to get it back on in our name (again, no hot showers, no drying clothes and no using the stove this whole time). Then, over several service visits, they proceeded to break the stove AND the dryer trying to make it "compatible" with their propane; never mind that these appliances were in this exact same house for YEARS with the SAME service and NO previous issues. Needless to say, the landlord was none too pleased with their terrible service, but we still ended up with a new stove (electric this time) and dryer. In all, they caused over $400 in replacement charges, which thankfully our landlord credited to us. I could go on and on, but basically it was four years of terrible service and overcharges. I wish I could leave a -10! What an unprofessional lot. I was charged 2.17 a gal for propane in July - refilled the next March for 4.20. When I called to question it, I was told they would re-bill it at 3.99. They never did so I called back two weeks later to ask. I spoke to Dee and she was unbelieveable. She first told me there was NO record of my call and because I didn't write the person's name down I spoke to - there was nothing she could do! WHAT? When I questioned her - she hung up on me! This is how this company does Customer Service. I own a business and if one of my employees spoke to a customer like she did me - they would be G-O-N-E. Save yourself the extreme rudeness from their personnel and use another provider. They ARE NOT people you want to do business with. Update - we called around to several other propane providers in Brooksville. They all charge between $2.20 to $2.80 to fill the tank. When asked it they have been over $4 per gallon within the last 6 months, they said NO. On top of the rude personnel, you can plan on getting gouged to refill your tank. Oh - they don't tell you until AFTER they fill the tank that they are doubling the cost. :/ read more

Have been using AmeriGas to refill the generator for the condominium association for 11 years. They've always came out, topped off the tank sent the bill with no problem. This time they called me and asked about topping off the tank since we're nearing hurricane season. I said okay, go ahead. I received the bill and this time they charged $5.109/gallon which is a ridiculously high price. I called and asked about the high price and they said that since we don't use enough gas, they had to increase the price, this was after 9 years and they never did this before. I told the lady that this sounds like price gouging during an pandemic and she said no sir, this is a big company and we don't need to do that. She also said that I called in for the pickup and I said NO, you called me and said that since it's getting close to hurricane season that I may want to top off the tank! She said, no you called us and I have the recording to prove it! I said fine, please get the recording and play it and you will see that you called me and I said that you'd previously told me that I shouldn't have any delivered until it's at 50%. She relented and said "Oh Yeah", I see hear where you talked to (can't remember the name) and she did call you and you did tell her you thought it needed to be at 50% before topping off the tank. She said she would talk to her boss and get back to me. She called a little later and said she could knock a dollar a gallon off and make it $4.019/gallon. Really sounds like a price gouging situation during a pandemic to me! I will be looking for another company to deliver my propane! read more
