Everyone was nice. Our notary was kind, and it turns out Community Bank provides Notary Public services for free as a service to the community. You don't need to have an account with them. How awesome!

Having moved to a large city, I've always enjoyed working with the small credit union, where I can still call and people remember me and ask me how my dad is. It's just something that doesn't happen much anymore, and it makes me feel comfortable. The only reason for four stars instead of five is that it's taken on a bit of a corporate feel in the last couple of years. When my husband called the manager instead of a loan officer the manager was curt with him, rather than simply saying "let me connect you with a loan officer, I'm not the right person to talk to about this". Then they denied our loan for a scooter without telling him that they needed BOTH our pay stubs, because we needed dual income to qualify for it right now. I don't think that would have happened five years ago - they would have worked with us and made all the suggestions that we needed to hear to make it happen. I'll still use ACCESS FCU because I like supporting smaller, local businesses (even though it's not local to me, I still feel like this is "my bank"). If they had ATMs in San Francisco I'd do all my business there!
