After obtaining three separate bids, we hired Carroll Custom Painting to repaint the exterior of…read moreour house (plus one interior room) after the Oct. '19 tornado. Carroll was one of the more reasonable bids, but, more importantly, we thought Chris' team would be the most meticulous and responsive. They just finished the work this past weekend (a few days earlier than estimated) and it could not have gone any better. The house looks amazing (better than it did when the builder painted it originally), the team was experienced and careful. They responded well to any questions and requests. They cleaned up well every night and at the end. This was a big job, picking this painter turned out to be a great decision. We would use them in the future and highly recommend them.

Nortex Painting We…read morehired Nortex Painting to paint our kitchen cabinets for $4,000. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. We were originally told the cabinet doors would be painted in the garage. Later we were told there was not enough room -- even though we provided the same amount of space inside the kitchen. This change was never clearly explained. The primer used was extremely strong and toxic. The fumes were so intense that our eyes watered and we had difficulty breathing. We were never advised to ventilate the home properly or consider staying elsewhere during this stage of the project. We were also told the cabinets would be thoroughly washed and prepped before painting. That did not appear to happen. Additionally, the cabinet doors were hung from the top during painting, which left visible punch holes. They should have been hung from the bottom to avoid damage. After the job was completed, we requested the owner come inspect the work. His response to our concerns was that "there was only one person who was ever perfect," which did not address the issues we raised. Communication was also difficult, as the workers did not speak English and we were unable to discuss concerns directly during the project. Overall, we expected a professional, properly prepped cabinet job for $4,000 and did not feel the quality matched the price.

I was disappointed with my experience with Alexis Home Painting. Their communication was hostile…read moreand harrassing. The project was left incomplete, and the overall quality of workmanship fell well below expectations. Proper surface preparation was not performed before painting, which affected the final finish, which I had to pay another paint contractor to refinish. Paint was left on door hardware and flooring, requiring additional cleanup after the crew left. The caulking work was also poorly executed, with several lines appearing crooked, uneven, and incomplete. They did not fill small nail holes and imperfections in sheet rock before painting making that stand out more after painting. I gave the company an opportunity to address these concerns, but the issues remained unresolved. Attention to detail and proper preparation are critical in painting projects, and unfortunately, those standards were not met on this job. Based on my experience, I would not hire Alexis Home Painting again. Very unprofessional.
