My now 13 y.o. son started taking virtual coding classes over the past 18 months with AYC logic. He has coded in Scratch and basic Java previously through other camps/organizations, but did not find the courses challenging enough. He has really loved classes through AYC Logic because the class size is smaller and much more interactive with the instructor. He has taken Python, Intermediate Python, Object Oriented Programming and now is in a training class for USA Computing Olympiad through AYC Logic The instructors have been ALL very knowledgeable and great at working with the students. As a parent, I love that there is homework every week that reinforces the lesson concepts, and that there is a course final to ensure that course mastery and skills retention. My son is actually very busy with many other extracurricular activities, so he does not take a coding course every cycle. However, what he has learned through AYC Logic is so solid that when he returns to the next class in the series, there is very little knowledge loss. I know a thing or two about coding and tutoring as I was a Faculty Assistant myself, in the past. Programming is hard. Tutoring kids is not easy. My kids have been learning various coding and/or computer programming classes such as "Scratch & Python" etc for more than a year at this place. The owner is the best instructor for them. He is a kind and very smart guy. Each class has a level up test for each kid to ensure the quality of the training curriculum and the ability of the kids to move up to the next level. If they pass the test, they will receive a certificate of completion as a proof of mastering the concepts taught in the classes. I have been coding here for a few months now and it's AMAZING! This is a great spot to learn coding, and Mr. Gamas and the teachers make sure your kid understands the information before learning a new concept. If you want to cultivate your child's interest in coding, this is the place to start! Both my kids started AYC Logic a year ago, beginning with Scratch Level 1 and now progressing into Python. It is really remarkable how much they have learned within only a year with their instructor, Gamas. He is not only knowledgeable, but has the patience of a saint. Hi, this is a wonderful place for kids learning to code. My daughter was initially in a class with 6 students, which was too many students for her. Mr. Gamas (the owner) was very quick to work out an arrangement so that Chloe can be in a smaller class. She thrived much better in the smaller class and started to code with Scratch on her own! Both instructors, Ms. Megan and Ms. Latisha, have been wonderful as well. Also there's a test to pass Scratch level 2 and the quality of the grading of the test assignment was very rigorous. It's clear that the person grading the test took his/her time to point out the details of the correct or incorrect parts of the code. Patience and kindness--one of the main things I love in this class! The teacher always make sure students understand the lesson before proceeding with the next one. Questions are never unwelcomed. If a student is stuck, the teacher will focus on them and guide them. Learning and applying coding basics in this class really works the mind (but isn't too challenging) and fun! read more
