I would only accept highly rated companies with good reviews and an A+ BBB rating which came down to ~4 companies. I had planned on getting a few estimates and going from there. I honestly don't know why I chose to call CWS first, but I did, my call was taken by a wonderful lady whose name I cannot recall but she scheduled me immediately with Jeff. Well, I'll tell you, Jeff was excellent, he gave me honest assessments and helped me figure out what I needed, not what he could sell me. I had several requirements which he listed to and gave me honest, educated advice for all of them. Several weeks later my materials had been delivered, and we set up the date. The crew arrived on time and went straight to work after a brief conversation; I believe the crew chief was Daniel. The crew did an excellent job and listened to all my concerns, I had zero issues with them, they were great and did excellent work. In closing I will say, for the siding work I had done, and I've had siding done twice before, these guys were the best by a mile. This company is a complete scam. These guys went on about how they used to be car salesmen, after…read morebeing ripped off like I have been, I totally understand why Spot On hires these type of people. Yes, they installed a roof, but the whole process was a nightmare. Communication was great in the beginning when discussing what we wanted, the time frame it would be done, and that they would work with our insurance. We could also finance through a credit union that works directly with them. BUT, once we signed contracts and was accepted for financing, the communication was terrible. Cameron Rittenour, our "salesman" is who did my financing application. I was to finance $8900 and that was with adding the recommended $2000 extra in wood that MIGHT be needed. When I received the statement from the credit union, it showed that I had financed over $11300! This is NOT what was agreed upon. Everyone gets the same APR with this type of loan, but Cameron Rittenour said that with my having better credit than my husband I would probably get the better rate. He said my rate was 6.43%, but it's actually 10.49%. We were paying $6900 + $2000 (extra wood) on top of the $9700 that insurance wrote a check for. The project manager (who is an outside contractor with his own crew) actually told us they used the amount of wood they were told to. Cameron Rittenour was very adamant that the workers would tear off the old roof and figure out how much wood was needed, and that we would be reimbursed for what was not used. We were not reimbursed for the wood. And they definitely did NOT use anywhere near $2000 worth of wood. The roof was scheduled to be done on April 29, 2026, but they couldn't start due to weather. There was never any communication as to when the crew was going to show up. We woke up at 6:30 am the following Sunday to a bunch of guys banging on the house. The crew was supposed to fix a piece of siding that was sticking out of the second floor, per what Cameron Rittenour had told us. But, the project manager said it wasn't in the plans. Cameron Rittenour took picture of where the dumpster was supposed to go, but a dumpster never showed up. I never received an itemized bill showing what all I had paid for, but I'm guessing I paid for a dumpster that never was here. Cameron Rittenour also brought up that one of the guys, Giovanni, would be here when the crew was (which he was not) to get a review from us for social media or Google. They were expecting us to leave a 5 star review before the work was even completed. I was really confident in going with this company because how they constantly bragged about being the only ones who work with your insurance and how they help with financing. After speaking to multiple contractors about another project, they also work with insurance and have financing options. By the way, the financial institution Spot On goes through makes it incredibly difficult to pay your loan by transfering money from your own bank.

But is the company reputable? And do you really want to go with a relatively new company even if is owned by your buddy. He decided, no. Newman is competitive with hundreds of 5 star reviews. He went with Newman. Subsequently we had a hail storm and neighbors were advising us to get our roof checked out. Our roof was 20 years old. I wanted to be honest with the insurance company and not submit a claim unless Tyler from Newman,who came out to give us an estimate, was sure we needed a new roof and we suffered damage beyond normal wear and tear. Plus we had 2 houses. Well one needed a new roof and the other one likely has another couple of years left. As an aside, if you turn in a claim to your insurance company, even if it is denied, you risk higher premiums or cancelation. That is why it is important to have Newman Roofing spend time assessing. In our case, our roof was more wear and tear with minimal hail. Dan and his guys were on time, even early. Weather has consistently been in the mid 90's. I was worried. But Newman keeps them well supplied with hydration. 14 man crew meant lots of vehicles, even a dump truck but they were minimally disruptive to our neighbors. Furniture moved, netting put up to minimize construction mess on house and garden areas. And then they went to work. All I can say is WOW. I am so pleased. When they were finished, the cleaned up all the mess, including using a magnetized thing for nails in driveway, patio and grass. The yard, the patio, the driveway, the porches are SPOTLESS. I highly highly highly recommend Newman Roofing. They did my kid's. They did this roof and in 2 years they will do our other roof. Price is good too.
