She arranged a private storage unit for us, understanding my concern of not wanting our stuff next to others in the general warehouse. She advised me that the laundry & dry cleaning would be done and returned in three to four days. She instructed me to sort and identify things. After the initial sales call, it all went sour. On pickup day, Victor, the project manager, and crew were throwing my entire closet into a box with no inventory provided. They packed fragile, breakable items in a box with no padding until I stopped them. They had no bubble wrap and only at my request, wrapped items in paper. They were late coming back the next morning to finish up, hence the demo mitigation company had to remove remaining items themselves before they could work. I was then told by Victor, since it was a weekend, laundry could take up to a week. I reviewed with the crew which bags of laundry, once clean, were to go to storage and which were to come back here. Everything was clearly labeled. Over a month later and still no laundry/linen! Phone calls to ans. srvc. and emails to manager went unanswered. Victor had my storage rm. key the whole time. Finally he called back to state laundry/linens were back in storage unit. He never brought back items labeled "return to owner". I think this was 32 days later! At first he said curtains were overlooked for awhile in the warehouse! He changed story later. I went to storage with help to attempt to retrieve items that were to be brought back here but all of a sudden, my access code did not work. Victor did something to cause this. Mgr. did remedy in a couple of days but by then I had no help in lifting heavy boxes. Regarding "pack-back" day, I placed my request a week in advance (was told only needed 3 days) and got no confirmation. Again calls to ASrvc and emails to mgr. went unanswered. Finally, mgr. confirmed the following Fri., April 10th. Victor and crew showed up BUT he announced they got another call and could not complete my job-he wanted to store about 60 boxes, many large wardrobe size in my home and come back on Monday. NO I said; it would have blocked our doorways. He conceded to leaving only two workers to unpack for a few hours only. They were good workers. This same day I again inquired where my linens and curtains were. Victor, forgetting what he told me before, said that all laundry was taken together, then i learned from worker, they only took curtains that very day. Victor then he took them to drapery company but man said they were not dirty. Victor did not tell him that the bottoms had been in sewage back-flow. Victor said ONLY IF I could get insurance verification that they would pay, he would take curtains to be cleaned or I could pay up to $200.00. It was late on a Friday and no way for me to get through to insurance and get answer. Dirty curtains were left here after he had them for 40 days!!! Also, upon return of items I discovered night stand was damaged with a corner chunk missing and two swede clothing items were missing. I emailed manager. It is now months later and no response. I found out from insurance that at the time of Packback they had already been paid. They have no incentive to be accountable. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Absolut Restoration was very professional, nice and real detailed on our inventory sheets. They did an amazing job and we are truly thankful that they helped us during our time of need. Misty one of the owners was very nice and explained everything in detail to us so that there would be no surprises. There was no high pressure tactics and we never felt that we were being taken advantage of which is common after a house fire. We did have an issue that came up during inventory of the contents but that was resolved amicably. Absolut Restoration is a company that has experience and all of their employees work very hard it was a pleasure working with Absolut Restoration and their content team.

We were fortunate that they had a same day opening! The Plumber came out at 2:30 the same day. The plumber who had 2 ideas of our issue. He however couldn't access where he believed the problem was coming from. water was appearing in out spare bedroom behind where our master bathroom shower is located. So he recommended Bingham Restoration; to come out and gain access. They had guys in the area and were at my house within an hour! They gained accessed to the problem area quickly and then cut away the damaged area, cleaned everything up well and left dryers and de-humidifiers for the weekend. Then helped me file my insurance claim the same day! Bingham is a pleasure to work with and were SO good with their clean up and information! Nick from Lawson came back out on Monday and saw where the problem was and unfortunately had to have our entire custom cultured marble shower taken out to access the leaking pipe. So the next day Bingham was out to remove the shower and the next day! Nick was back to fix the pipe. Bingham suggested a general contractor to restore the drywall, carpet, baseboard and wall texturing and paint to the spare bedroom and then replace the shower. This has been a super smooth process and I am very impressed will refer Lawson and Bingham to everyone. I cannot recall the name of the Contractor. I am meeting with them today to choose my new marble and carpet!

They also dumped tile garbage down the drain of the shower. The tile guy we hired to fix the shower spent half a day pulling chunks of tile out of the shower drain. Then they way overcharged us. I can't say more how poor of an experience we had. Then we got an email saying that employees had been taking payments from customers and pocketing it, so warned us about who to pay. For what should have been a multi-day dry out only, WF tore out carpeting throughout the entire house unnecessarily. They also brought in their "sister company," a certain packing out company that started to move the tenant family's belongings to some remote location. Fortunately, the family stopped in and made the movers move their belongings into the garage instead of off-site. I walked directly into their trap. The leak was on a Friday. Plumber repair happened Saturday. I had them stop in on Sunday, ahead of insurance. The real secret to their "success" is in their fine print in their work order. If you do what I did, and hastily sign with them, they will likely outrun what insurance will pay for, and you'll be on the hook for a big bill. I tried to fight, but they have mastered the process of placing a mechanic's lien on a property (11 since November 2022) and securing profits that way if the opportunity arises. Water Fighters is not the only company that uses mechanic's liens. I'm sure liens are necessary at times, but it appears to be a tool that can be utilized as part of a corrupt scheme when possible. Check the Maricopa County Recorders Office website and search for legal efforts by any company by Document Title. Water mitigation has the potential to be particularly pernicious because one wants to move quickly to minimize damage and prevent mold or mildew growth. That's part of the trap I jumped into. Don't let Cesar Lauro Ontiveros Perez, or anyone associated with Water Fighters, near your property. Don't call them and definitely don't sign with them. I imagine most of the reviews on their website, like other elements of their website, are not authentic and are designed to deceive. No water mitigation license is needed to "perform" water mitigation. All one needs is any contractors license. This is in AZ and many other states. Fancy thermal imaging cameras to detect moisture does not mean someone knows how to work within professional standards governing water damage mitigation and restoration, or work with an insurance adjuster. Finally, call a PUBLIC ADJUSTER. Public Adjusters work for you to manage the efforts between your insurance company and any contractors. Yes, they get a percentage of your claim for their efforts but it is worth it to avoid what I went through. I called one for the rebuild and it made for an amazing turnaround from the awful experience with WF. NAPIA is the national association for public adjusters. They know the insurance industry and will probably know your policy better than you do. Your first call can and should be to a public adjuster. You will do much better overall with your claims if you work with a Public Adjuster.
