The owner really put in a lot of effort into this pig theme. Everywhere we saw we were reminded that this was the pig deli. The level of details in the way the restaurant is set up is unbelievable. They even had a pig shaped crispbread specially made to go with the salmon. We both had the sausage with three tapas. We also had a pie to share. Everything was excellent. I had the best salami I have ever had. There was only one waiter in the room, and his service was fantastic. If I come back to Stockholm sometime, this would be the first place I hit up.

Once they were open, it took a long time between us being given menus to finally getting our food- 50 minutes. They should've given us our side while we were waiting for the board. We ordered a side of salami and Swedish cheese and the hairy pig board. I enjoyed the side, but the board not so much. The board consisted of wild boar sausage with broche bun, wild boar taco, peppercorn fries, and wild boar lasagna. The board was quite heavy and salty. I didn't have enough stomach space to even try the taco. I did enjoy the fries, but it's not enough for me to want to return.

A lot of wannabe French places in Stockholm sound fake or out of place. Trying too hard on details…read moreforgetting some basics. All of the ones I tried made me feel 'meh' after some time. All of them except this one. Food taste like when I am in French countryside, but nicely presented as Swedish standards dictates. Drinks are OK (I would have loved to have teas like mariage or betjeman). But even if the food is good, this is not why I think this place is amazing. It is because I think that they achieved to mix something utterly difficult: making French and Swedish cultures cohabitate but not mix. Taking the strong and pleasant aspect of each, at least from my French point of view, and letting them shine. The place is small, and the decoration not bragging its origin, so what I am describing will be much more found in details and behavior of the service. In one sentence, they are comforting because they know that they are doing a great job, with passion, and take pride of it without the need to play a role or brag about it. And they are caring. Overall, this place is very much approved.

The interior decor is nice and the whole place has a quaint hip neighborhood feel to it. The staff was also lovely and helpful here! I adored the chicken, mayo and egg baguette that I ordered. Their other options included more sandwiches, soups, and salads. The soup that I saw ordered by a pal looked quite delightful and filling as well. The price I paid for lunch was also wonderful at 65:-. I have to wonder what the going rate for a subway sandwich is these days, because my baguette was a million times more delightful and also an economical sandwich style lunch option. I would definitely consider this place if your in the area. TIP- If you like the cups here you can buy them at the store next door. The owner's wife is the ceramist and makes them all. They are quite pricey, but absolutely beautiful!

I stopped by here on a Friday afternoon around 1:30 pm for lunch/a snack while staying in the area…read more The café is located on a street that has a lot of different businesses, shops, and cafés. It looks very small at first, but if you go further in, there is actually a ton of seating. The café was pretty busy when I arrived--there were a lot of students studying and groups of friends chatting--but I was able to find a seat very easily. I ordered a prosciutto and mozzarella sandwich, a regular black coffee, and a black currant bun for dessert. My total came out to be about 145 krona. I was able to pay with my American bank card with no issues. The sandwiches are already constructed and sitting at the front of the café, but they freshly panini press them to order. There was a variety of delicious looking pastries at the front for takeaway as well as at the main counter for dine-in. The menu is in Swedish but the staff were fluent in English and seemed very happy to explain the offerings in English. They were super nice and patient with me. I wasn't entirely clear on whether they bring you your food or if you're meant to wait around for it, but I went back to the counter after finding a seat and my food was ready to be picked up at that point. My sandwich was really tasty and I enjoyed the black currant bun--I probably wouldn't get it again because I'd like to try the other baked goods and I think black currant ultimately isn't really for me as a matter of personal taste, but I appreciated that it was well made. I stayed at the café for about an hour and was not bothered during that time; this is definitely a good place to get some studying done, have a chat with friends, or have some time to yourself. The atmosphere was very clean and minimalist, with a bit of a hipster vibe. There were unisex bathrooms--small but clean and well supplied. Again, I wasn't sure if I was supposed to bus my own dishes but as I was getting ready to leave, one of the staff happened to pop in and cleared my table for me. The staff seemed to come through intermittently to clean up other tables throughout my stay. I really enjoyed eating here; if I were local, I could easily imagine this to be an ideal place to hang out regularly. It seemed to be popular with both locals and visitors. The staff were so helpful and friendly and the café had a great vibe.

They have pretty affordable breakfast options and everything ranging from coffee, pastries, desserts and paninis. I ended up ordering a coffee, croissant and Swedish cinnamon bun, which totally doesn't look like a typical American cinnamon bun and was flat, wavy and curly, almost looking like a Danish but like square-ish. There was a nice, relaxing relaxing vibe with a lot of minimalistic and modern design elements. We sat at a moderately large table and ate, drank our coffees and chatted in peace. If you're in town, I definitely recommend stopping by this cafe when you're in town! It wasn't too busy either!

When it comes to a culinary adventure, it can be difficult to tell whether or not a feeling of…read morefamiliarity is a good sign. At times it suggests that a concept is overdone or unoriginal, and at other times that familiarity strikes us at a more profound level -- as if we've been there before in a past life, or as if there's something there that feels like home. I was lucky to find this feeling at a stunning café nestled into the greenery of Djurgården in southern Stockholm, a beacon of warmth and light amidst the afternoon chill. My traveling companion and I had spent the morning perusing the vast collections at Prins Eugens Waldemarsudde, finding ourselves enchanted by the glorious staterooms and the expertly curated painting exhibitions. It's a known fact that museums always tend to make me hungry, and so after exploring the grounds I was just about ready for something to nibble on. By this point in my Swedish adventure, fika had become the most cherished hour (or several) of the day. From cardamom buns to princess cake, I had become fully absorbed in this tradition and was fully committed to incorporating it into my life back in the States. While the simplest translation is "a coffee break," for my traveling companion and I had had become so much more -- an invitation to unwind, to take refuge from the Swedish cold, and perhaps most importantly, to indulge a little. This stunning spot came at a recommendation of a friend of mine who had studied in Copenhagen for a semester and ended up here on a class trip. Luckily, this friend has impeccable taste. Rooted in (pun intended) community, Rosendals Trädgård is a veritable jack-of-all trades. From producing many of their own ingredients on site to serving treats and hearty fare alike, there is so much that this place gets right. To get to the café you walk past a series of plots alive in the soil, wondering what grows there and who planted it. When you reach the café you find that it's a real greenhouse, steeped in sunlight and awash in a rich sea of blues. It's beautiful on the outside, and even more gorgeous on the inside. Something about the self-serve style setup made me feel like I was at a friend's house for tea, contributing to the delightfully homey feel that had seeped into every corner of the abode. I sampled a couple of cookies from the buffet, and my dining companion did the same. When we took our seats, we found that each bite left us feeling warm and comforted despite the nip of Swedish spring beyond the walls of the greenhouse. It was a simple meal, an afternoon pick-me-up, yet it seemed to fill us up in spirit the same way a four-course meal would have filled our bellies. For a plate full of something that feels like home even if you're thousands of miles away from your own, Rosendals Trädgård is an immaculate refuge. Just like the plants that grow on its grounds, you'll find yourself feeling cherished and tended to. What more can we ask of a meal? Read more reviews at letsgetdinner8.wordpress.com.

The walk is absolutely gorgeous and it makes you feel as if you're stepping into an oasis away from Stockholm. They had some Christmas decorations up and a tree, so it felt very festive, even if most of the trees were bare for winter. I loved the meal setup -- there were some quick bites available to grab, as well as pastries, and there were dishes you could order. I got an Asian slaw sandwich and a saffransbulle (LOVE these). I also opted for one of their flavored hot teas, because it was cold in Stockholm in November! The food was great in the cafe, but even better was the plant shop next door! They had Christmas ornaments for sale, as well as lots of handcrafted items and lots of plants. Definitely worth a visit!

Although the passageway where the interior seating is situated seemed awkward it actually worked out well. Service, despite a crowd, was fairly quick, I would rate the coffee an A or 9/10 on the scale of strength, low acidity/smoothness. It is espresso based and made to exact order. There are serval options for milk (whole, oat, 1/2 and 1/2, etc). The major complaint would be that there is no easy place to throw away your rubbish, nor is there a place that is clearly evident to bust your dishes, which is much needed given that this is a super busy place.. The staff is too busy to bus tables regularly, which backs up the availability of seating . This is the major reason for a one star deduction.. TIP: You can buy beans or ground coffee for home brewing.
