I had a car that needed a radiator replacement . I did a little shopping around and landed on American Radiator. Not only did I need a radiator I also needed a radiator fan. I got this work done at American Radiator for 1/3 the quoted price where my car was broken down. This great team did the work within a few hours. Showed me the bad parts, walked me through the replaced parts and even cleaned up a few things because they're just great workers. They gave great service and great advice for some questions that I had. The estimate was spot on and the only thing better is the service they performed. read more

Ive been coming to American Radiator for about three years now, and the service has always been amazing. The attention and care they give to my vehicle is top-quality, and I truly appreciate how honest and trustworthy they are. They never try to overcharge or upsell unnecessary repairs, which is hard to find these days. Their turnaround times are also incredibly quick whenever possible, they work hard to get your car in and out the same day. I get my vehicle brakes done with them. A great establishment and a valuable part of the community. Highly recommend! read more

Today, I went to the shop because my radiator was leaking. I was worried that I might have to buy a new one, but luckily Mike was there to save the day. After performing a pressure test and inspecting all the hoses, he found out that a loose hose clamp was the culprit causing the leak. When I asked Mike how much I owed him, he just smiled and said it was on the house. Mike is seriously the best - so honest, skilled, and friendly. I wish I could give him more than 5 stars! His help and cheerful attitude made my day. read more

American Radiator - Auto Repair Near Me - Sylmar, California

So I was in a bind. My wife's radiator went out on us, broken parts and all. The car was not drivable or the engine would probably overheat and be done for. I went online and looked for radiator shops. Not too many of them had 4-5 star rating. I saw American Radiator and called AAA to tow her car to them because they had 5 star ratings all the way across the board, and I personally experience exactly why! The car was dropped off right when they opened shop. I met a gentleman named David who took care of me right away. I told him a few things about what I found and he already knew everything just by looking at it. I thought it was going to take days and some hefty $$$, but it cost less than what I thought and it was done in hours. The timing was huge to us cause we use that car to pick up kids from school, go out, etc. We picked up the car and David told us that there was some issues with the air conditioner that he repaired as well for us. He said that they not only do radiators but are experts for air conditioners also. So everything was perfect! The car is running great. The AC is running perfect. No hassles, no run around, it was almost too good to be true, lol. If you're in need of radiator service or air conditioning service and you pass on this place, it would honestly be a foolish move. It's service with a smile, experience, and satisfaction! read more

My sons car needed the radiator replaced after hitting debris on the fwy. Not only was American Radiator the best price but David did the job in a few hours. Omg Mike is amazing... I had a vehicle emergency and a very freaked out me called American Radiator at 8 am on a Saturday morning. I was promptly greeted by a friendly Mike. He told me to bring my car and would help me out. I had hit a curb and the under carriage was dragging. I got there and Mike took really good care of me. He then recommended that I get the part replace. I left my information and midweek he was able to get the part and install it. Mike wanted to make sure I was happy with the service. Went in to get my axle changed for a good price got my car back and when I would accelerate it would start shaking they told me it was probably my tire because it had a bump made sense till I bought new tires I went back they told me it could me my transmission , so I went for a second opinion at chubbys up the street he assured me it's my axel . I went back told them he happily said he would change it again. (David) problem solved so I thought three days later the shaking started again. I let David know he said he it was a new part he put. By this time I'm tired of car problems I I bought the part and brakes he said he would install free of charge since I paid 300$ already for a "fixed axle" okay now my brakes are making a weird noice he's saying it's the pads I bought at AutoZone fuck this place I'm never going here again read more

This review is long overdue. What can I say that hasn't been said, these guys are always great. David and Mike are the best. They make an excellent team and are hard workers. Their kids have also worked here before,so its a family business which I like. Throughout the years friends and I have gotten repairs here and can say they stay competitive and the service is simply amazing. When they can't do something or a repair is beyond their knowledge or equipment they always let you know. Fair prices and super friendly people here with an old school service approach that alot of olaces seem to have lost.Try them out sometime when your car needs a service or a radiator. You will feel the difference in customer service. read more

My first time ever writing a review to a business and glad it's here! David and the rest of them made it fast to get my car in and out as possible. Since I know nothing about cars my air conditioner & heater broke and was not blowing any air out, we waited on a few parts that took longer than expected (due to Covid low supplies) and since that happened David took the Curiosity to give me a discount just for waiting a little longer. Definitely will be coming back here! read more

My car overheated on the I5 heading from LA to San Jose. Steam coming from my radiator & reservoir. I have little knowledge of vehicles and was worried about getting hustled by any auto shops since I was in an unfamiliar area. I am grateful to have come across American Radiator. Mike opened shop for me 15 minutes early, immediately recognized the issue, and had me safely on the road in 30 minutes. The price was really good and fair. Additionally, he explained the issue, showed me how he fixed it, and gave me some tips and advice in case I ran into any additional trouble in the future. Thank you for helping me in a moment of crisis. It was a smooth drive back home. read more

So radiator is leaking big time. Wife really needs car... So I call dealer almost a grand for a new radiator installed. Chrysler wanted $365 for just the radiator. I check autozone to see how much for radiator maybe I'll do it myself -- $226 for part. I find the Radiator company on Yelp with the best reviews (even though it wasn't the closest) and talk to Mike and get a price -- for almost the price of the part I can get a brand new radiator installed. Heck yeah -- with their reviews -- no brainer! It's all about piece of mind. At least for me. Take it in and he did a meticulous job -- he showed us every nut bolt etc... let us inspect the old part and put in new anti freeze. Took car in at lunch time was done by 4pm. 1 more perfect review -- thanks Mike! You guys rock! read more

I lost the air conditioning and developed a crack in my radiator coming through Mojave last weekend. I looked to find a shop that could handle both. I was very pleased with American Radiator. The person who helped me went outside and diagnosed the problems while I stood there, and gave me a very fair price. Then he offered to do the work while I waited, but, I had brought a ride back. He still got it done the same day within a couple of hours. When I came to pick up the vehicle, he showed me the old radiator, pointed out the crack, and offered to take it apart so I could see that the crack did indeed go all the way through, I declined but was impressed with the honesty. I already knew I had a crack, but, these guys earned my trust. read more

I had a broken radiator this summer. Instead of going to my regular shop, I called around and this guy gave me the best quote. Upon arrival, in the midst of downtown San Fernando, I was greeted by a kind guy who was eager to help me out. They were already working on a couple of cars when I arrived but the wait to start my car was very short. In a quick hour of waiting, they had my radiator replaced and good to go. Here it is 6 months later and my radiator works great! No more leaks! Highly recommended and very good rates!! read more

This was my first visit at American Radiator and from now on I will come here for all my automotive repairs.. I spoke to Mike over the phone about concerns I had with my vehicle. I had taken my car to different a repair shop and I was given outrageous quote to get a radiator, condenser and fan assembly installed. Mike and the team were extremely knowledgeable and had my car inspected to assure I really needed those repairs. They went the extra mile to help me safe money on unnecessary parts and repairs. They had my car ready within hours and I was a very happy bout the outcome. The prices are very reasonable and the mechanics are great. I bought a used car from Offer Up and made the mistake of not checking the diagnostics before purchase. Found out it had 7 error codes and couldn't pass the smog check. We had an Autozone worker check it out to give us a briefing and he said one of the error codes meant it was system disabled and that it looked like someone tampered with the car to get it to Illegally pass it's previous smog test and that we might need chp to verify this car and it just looked pretty bad. The car also made a weird clicking sound by the pedals otherwise you couldn't really tell anything was wrong. I called like 5 mechanics on Jan 2nd and this guy Mike was the ONLY one who took time to really listen to me and ask questions instead of just telling me to make an appointment like the other calls I made. He was very polite, Very knowledgeable, and didn't give me any run arounds. I dropped off my car in the morning and in just a couple hours he calls me back saying cars all good and he got the smog check passed and the had the results already sent to the dmv! I didn't believe it at all, I was so happy they were able to fix this so quickly and it was incredibly cheap too omfg. Super sweet and amazing mechanic, I will not go anywhere else! Highly recommend. read more

First time at American radiator. I brought my 1985 Jeep scrambler to have a leak fixed at the neck on the radiator. I called first and talked to Mike . I live in Santa Clarita and he told me to come on down. Wow, an hour later I was on the road again all fixed/no leaks. Love this place! Thank you for the great repair. Would recommend all day long! read more

I've been coming here for a couple years and its never a disappointment. David & Mike are awesome they show you everything in detail before & after each fix. I moved to Santa Clarita and happy to make the drive to honest and reasonable fix and maintenance. I've had a couple of issues which they don't do but still recommend me to places that do. Since I live in Santa Clarita it's kind of a tradition for me and my toddler to get breakfast at the Olympic diner a couple doors down while they attend to my car. Prices are great beats dealership prices. As a woman it's hard to find honest mechanics but thanks to David, Mike & their crew I know I found it!! HIGHLY recommend this place for sure! read more
