PLEASE READ BEFORE CONSIDERING TOBIN: 1 star isn't low…read moreenough. My elderly parents had a small area of their basement that had water come in. This might have been a 4x4 area at MOST. Myself, and my 85 year old father pulled the carpet, removed the carpet pad, and moved one piece of furniture. We had two fans ourselves (one being industrial) that we put in the area, and then called Tobin. They came and supplied a dehumidifier and a couple of fans. Tobin stated that it would be around 900 dollars. Which seemed reasonable because we handled most of the hard items. The following week, the dollar amount was paid in full, and the fans were removed. My father then received a phone call stating that what was just part of the amount. They wanted $2200.00 more! They stated they have two separate departments. One that tears down and one that puts it back together. This is not agreed upon verbally. Then claiming there are two separate departments when this was NOT communicated upon arrival at the house. Their invoicing practice is fraudulent and dishonest. I will NEVER use them again for any business. I recommend ANYONE ELSE in Idaho Falls. Don't bother having the owner respond to this review. Update: Tobin's owner visited homeowner and reduced the bill.

I also asked to check other things with the water system in the basement and he did without a charge. Steve's positive attitude, problem‑solving skills, and willingness to work within our budget were extraordinary--qualities rarely found in customer service today. Our home presented several unique structural challenges, yet Steve approached each one with confidence and creativity. His crew was fast, professional, and patient, taking time to answer even our odd or off‑the‑wall questions. When an unexpected structural issue came up, they immediately worked together to find a safe, professional solution. Their teamwork and genuine care made us feel like family, not just customers. After installing our one‑of‑a‑kind air‑conditioning system, the team returned the next day to ensure everything was running at 100%. That level of follow‑through is exceptional on its own--but it didn't stop there. A week later, Steve called with news that truly amazed us. On his own initiative, he contacted the Rocky Mountain Power Wattsmart Program on our behalf, and we were approved for an incentive that helped offset the cost of the rewiring and installation. Who does that? It was an incredible act of service and integrity. Steve Winn and his team are, without question, #1 in Idaho. Their professionalism, kindness, and dedication made a difficult project feel manageable and even uplifting. Sincerely, Two grateful old folks from Shelley, Idaho David and Karen Petersen

They then agreed to show up a couple of hours later. They removed the old carpet and pad and only installed the new pad, leaving us with exposed tack strips and our furniture still stacked up. Absolutely not what we were expecting. This is only three rooms! I'm guessing that it wasn't enough of a job to apply full effort at it. Until tomorrow or possibly even later we will be enjoying our freshly laid padding and tack strips. Thank Carpet none.
