Myself, and my 85 year old father pulled the carpet, removed the carpet pad, and moved one piece of furniture. We had two fans ourselves (one being industrial) that we put in the area, and then called Tobin. They came and supplied a dehumidifier and a couple of fans. Tobin stated that it would be around 900 dollars. Which seemed reasonable because we handled most of the hard items. The following week, the dollar amount was paid in full, and the fans were removed. My father then received a phone call stating that what was just part of the amount. They wanted $2200.00 more! They stated they have two separate departments. One that tears down and one that puts it back together. This is not agreed upon verbally. Then claiming there are two separate departments when this was NOT communicated upon arrival at the house. Their invoicing practice is fraudulent and dishonest. I will NEVER use them again for any business. I recommend ANYONE ELSE in Idaho Falls. Don't bother having the owner respond to this review. Update: Tobin's owner visited homeowner and reduced the bill.

I didn't know if VRDS was any good but I had been trying to get my septic inlet line repaired for two months. VRDS called me, setup an appointment, arrived as scheduled and fixed the inlet line. The job was more complicated than expected due to the septic tank damage and original installation errors. Miguel didn't miss a beat, he came up with great solutions and kept the cost very near the original estimate. I was impressed with his work quality, willingness to work with the home owner and drive to get the job done as estimated, even with unexpected issues. GREAT JOB and THANKS

I had this guy come over and give me a quick estimate, he says "super easy job" which it should have been, then showed up the following day about 40 minutes late, wouldn't have been a big deal but needed to coincide with another trade. He proceeded to tell me how the conduit was going to run a certain direction and be anchored down to the floor so as not to be a tripping hazard (WTF?)- not what we had discussed, and it was obvious he was short cutting the job because he didn't calculate enough conduit or wires to run it the correct direction. Argued horribly with the other trade about a hook-up to some equipment, I had to walk away- it was REALLY BAD! Then he said it was going to take another two hours because he had to go get all new wires and conduit- to which I said "ok". My equipment guys had to leave and come back later since they were waiting on the electrician. Many hours later, it got completed but it was a very unpleasant experience. This guy had horrible manners and was very disrespectful and rude. I was very happy to get them off my property!

My biggest gripe though was there was a portable dishwasher that I wanted. I was told they were waiting for a part And would call me when it was ready and the cost was 130. Great deal! I get my call the guy says its ready. I confirm the price of 130 plus tax so I can grab the cash. The guy says "oh hell no, this is a nice dishwasher it's gonna be 325". I explained that when I bought the w&d set I was told 130. I'm told well the owners not here if you want it you pay my price. I say can you have the owner call. It's unfortunate, but not necessarily a sign of a bad vendor. We've bought a few appliances used from Northgate, and while one did break down sooner than we would have liked, they were extremely helpful in helping us diagnose it over the phone, and offered us a reasonable discount on the parts, which I swapped in myself. Even more recently they gave us a very good deal on a rebuilt washer transmission, and threw in a replacement (used) agitator for free! You will probably pay more for replacement parts from Northgate than ordering online, but I think it's worth spending a little extra because of the good customer service we have received, and it's supporting a local business.
