After also obtaining another estimate, we found Jay's proposal to be fair and very reasonable for the scope of work we wanted. Once the contract was signed, the project moved forward seamlessly. Jay's crew removed the old deck, prepared the space, and installed the new one with great care and attention to detail. The installers were always on time, professional, and respectful. They were happy to answer questions and took the time to explain what they were doing and why. Communication was excellent throughout the process, including advance notice from the office if weather required a delay. We were impressed in every respect--from the craftsmanship to the professionalism and cleanliness of the job site. At the end of the project, the deck was left spotless and ready to enjoy. He came 10mins before 9 which I appreciated cause that also shows me he is very punctual. He is very knowledgeable on how HOA's would want a more budget friendly estimate so he had some ideas on how to keep the cost low to update our HOA pool gates along with possibly adding some fencing on top of our existing walls. He measured out the perimeter of pool walls and let me know that some walls are shorter. I asked him if he was able to do keyless entry and he said yes and help me understand how it would be done. Will be expecting at least 2 estimates with 2 different options by the end of this week or at least before my next board meeting in early May. Looking forward to the estimates. Review from April 21,2026: Kevin and I exchanged emails, made an appointment for April 21, 2026 at 10am for a free estimate to update our HOA's pool gates and possibly adding gates on our pool walls to be up to code. It looked great and worked great but recently the gate became difficult to close due to normal sagging and the built-in adjustment mechanism could not fix the problem. Fence Factory came out quickly to do an assessment, accepted responsibility for an issue with the installation and corrected it. This was 2-1/2 years after installation and required about a half-day effort to move the post that supported the hinge portion of the gate. They stood by their product and did a beautiful job at no charge.

I hired Mayan Construction for a landscaping project that involved removing an old patio and then…read moreinstalling pavers. There was also a retaining wall that needed to be removed and replaced. For the first 90% of the job I'd say they did a decent job. The problem was with the finishing details. It's almost as if they finished 98% of the work and then didn't show to complete the rest of it. I asked them to return to my house and was told by Bryan that they would come back, but I never saw them again. I'm talking like a day of work to complete this stuff, if that. They left multiple pieces of rebar sticking out of concrete. I have kids and the last thing I want is for them to get hurt on sharp pieces of rebar. I also don't have the tools to cut the rebar myself. They had a sub come by and replace our aluminum gutters. There was one downspout that connected to an ugly piece of pvc pipe for drainage. I asked them to come back and remove the pvc pipe to make it look cleaner. They said they'd come back, but never did. I asked them to come back and fill in gaps that were left between the pavers, but again nothing was done. There was a sewer clean out that was left protruding above the paver patio too. I don't think I'd hire this company again to do any construction work at my house.
