BEWARE! Unreliable limo service and horrible customer service! We hired a limo from them to take us from our hotel to the church for our wedding. It broke down on the way to pick me up, causing me (the bride!) to be an hour late to my own wedding! (and the church was only 20 mins from the hotel) I understand that these things happen, but when they do you expect the company that screwed up to do something to make up for it. But they still charged us full price, and only offered a free airport pickup. Do they have any idea how much time, energy, money, and emotion goes in to planning a wedding?? They single handedly ruined my wedding - I really don't think a free ride to/from the airport makes up for that. So, I asked if instead of an airport ride, we could use the ride to take us to dinner and a hotel for our anniversary. Well, yes, but we can only go to the hotel OR the restaurant - No stops! and it has to be after 6:30pm. Or we can rent one for a minimum 3 hours, with only the first hour free so we will still be paying them at least another $150! After everything they've done, they should be kissing my feet, not giving ultimatums - and certainly not charging us any more money! If you go to a restaurant order a steak and it comes out burnt, the manager will send it back, cook you a new one and usually comp a round of drinks. If this company were running a restaurant, they'd probably say - sorry about the steak, you still have to pay for it, but we can give you a free side salad to "make up for it". Give me a break. I am not one to write Yelp reviews, but I need to express how awful my experience with American One Limo was this past weekend. My sister was actually the one who booked American One Limo for her wedding, and I am so upset at the way they treated her, the guests, and myself (maid of honor). My sister booked a bus for three hours and pre-paid a large sum of money. The bus was supposed to take guests from the reception back to the hotel whenever they needed to go. She paid for UNLIMITED trips with NO MINIMUM number of people on the bus. But when guests got on the bus, the driver told them he would not take anyone back to the hotel until the entire bus was full with 20 people and they would likely not be able to go back until the end of the reception (3 hours later at 1AM). There were many older guests who had been told they could leave early on. It was clear that they were just trying to save gas money by making as few trips as possible! When I tried to talk to the driver, he told me his boss mandated him to not leave until the bus was full. I then asked him to call his boss, and he spent the next ten minutes on his phone texting. When I asked what was going on, he said his boss was at a party and it was too loud for him to hear a call. Things got so bad my sister (the bride!) had to leave the reception very upset to try to deal with this. The driver was completely unreasonable with her and even told her "don't talk to me that way!" despite her being extremely calm. My sister had to then call the main office that was equally unreasonable and kept asking how many people were on the bus (which shouldn't have mattered at all). There is absolutely no reason a bride should have to leave her reception very upset to deal with a bus service she paid a lot of money for. Please DO NOT book American Limo for any of your future events. read more

We used American One Limo for our wedding transportation, and they were fantastic. A few months in advance, we arranged a 55-passenger bus to pick up and drop off at 3 different locations, a limo to bring the groom's family to the church, and a white stretch Hummer limo for the bridal party. That last one was the husband's specific vision: had to be a stretch Hummer, and it had to be white. So Api at American One Limo made arrangements with another company to use theirs for the day. Great! The week of the wedding, we got nervous and decided to add another 20-passenger bus. Even though it was last-minute, when we called Api he said "no problem" and it was done. Sweet! Every vehicle was right on time, and everything went smoothly (even when we had to reroute due to the Memorial Day Parade). Communication with Api was really low-maintenance all throughout the process, so I would recommend the company highly! read more

The worst customer service ever. Took multiple emails/calls to get any information about the party bus we reserved. When it arrived, the TV was broken, half the window shades were broken and the bus smelled like cigarettes. Would never use them again. read more

This is the worst run business I have ever had to deal with! My in laws had came into town for the weekend. At the last minute we decided we wanted to get a limo from Navy Pier back to our house, with just a little cruise around downtown late in the evening to show them the city, seeing as they had never been to Chicago nor had they ever been in a limo. We called, told them we wanted a two hour ride for four, pick up and drop off points and what times. The woman had said she could accommodate that as long as we filled out the contract immediately and faxed it back, which of course we did. She emailed a confirmation and instructed us to call their office at 9:30pm before they close at 10pm to find out the name and number of our limo driver. Called at 9:30pm, got the name and number, and was told by a gentleman that we were upgraded to a white stretch limo (wait, we ordered a limo, does a white one mean it's an upgrade?) I said okay. 15 minutes before our scheduled pick up time we called to see where our driver was and where to meet him. He said he would be there in ten minutes with a 4 passenger black SUV. I said absolutely NOT, I specifically ordered and paid for a limo. Hung up with him and called the office directly, explained the whole story, the guy was nice but said there was nothing he could do as there were no managers, I told him to go back and look on my contract and in TWO places I wrote specifically a LIMO. He agreed, apologized profusely as there were no limos available anymore and said I could call back in the morning to speak to the manager about my refund that would be "no problem". Great... The next morning I called and spoke with the manager and explained the whole story again. He said he would have to get the "drivers side of the story" and call me back...what's his side of the story? he was supposed to pick us up in a limo and came with an SUV, not what we requested, end of story...anyway he calls back a few hours later says it was their mix-up but since it was a holiday weekend they could not refund the money until Tuesday as financials was out for the holiday...fine... Tuesday morning called and manager tells me no problem financials will refund the money to the card within 24 hours. And of course 48 hours go by, nothing is refunded. Call again, run around, run around, run around. At this point I have wasted hours of my time on the phone and decided to call my credit card company who refunded the money and said they would dispute it themselves. I was very disappointed with this company, do NOT take a reservation if you're not sure you have the vehicle requested available, or when you find out there is no limo available, call the client and tell them their options, don't leave them standing on the curb 15 min before pick up time and surprise them with something they did not ask for. COMMUNICATE! Pretty pathetic if you ask me. The only nice thing I have to say about this place is all the people I spoke with were very nice on the phone (probably because they knew they screwed up) but nobody did anything to refund or compensate us for our wasted time and money. read more

I did not use their services because I could not get that far, but their customer service was terrible. I had been speaking to American One Limo for a few weeks about a date and when I faxed our contract I called immediately afterward to confirm we had everything set. It had been a few days and they did not charge our credit card, when I called back to make sure everything was all right they first said they did not understand why it wasn't processed and for me to call back, I asked if there was still an opening even for the time I asked and was put on hold and was told I was going to speak to a manager. The manager was very rude and told me that day has been booked for over a month. I let her know I had been speaking to someone about it for the last few weeks and she explained they had a shuttle that had broke down. The only thing they could do was give me a smaller shuttle, which wouldn't work or hope someone canceled. Extremely frustrating! Because they were not organized I now have to find another service days before my wedding. read more

DO NOT BOOK AMERICAN ONE LIMO. I paid American One Limo a significant amount of money to provide the bridal party, groom's party and shuttle service for my wedding. 1) The limo bus that showed up to escort my bridal party to the wedding was dirty!! Seriously, there was garbage in the back and there were large, visible tears in the seat cushions. I was completely embarrassed. 2) A few months before my wedding I had to change my credit card number due to fraud on my account. I called American One Limo and provided the updated credit card information and refaxed my contract. They confirmed receipt and I know they got the information because they charged both the bridal party and the groom's party limos. Literally ON THE WAY TO THE CHAPEL, I got a call from American One Limo saying that the credit card number for my shuttle was not working. When I realized they were trying to charge the old credit card, I was calm and tried to read the new credit card number (that I had already provided). The guy on the phone told me there was nothing he could do and I'd have to pay cash. I told him that was interesting since they had managed to charge my credit card for the bus I was riding on right now. Somehow after that they figured it out - but not the experience I wanted on the way to my ceremony. 3) And worst of all - I had paid for my shuttle service to escort my guests back to the hotel between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. When the driver arrived, he tried to say that he would not make any trips until there were 20 people on the bus (which was ridiculous since it was an 18 person mini-bus!!!!!). The driver then told me that he could not leave until he heard from his boss, who he could not contact because his boss was at a party. DO NOT BOOK THEM. read more

Got a price quote; not a discount price, but a pretty full price relative to what else was available. I was tired of calling around so I agreed to the price, filled out a lengthy contract and faxed it in. Their fax was jammed and they said they couldn't take it scanned & emailed. I tried faxing the thing more times than I've used a fax in the past 10 years combined. Finally the fax went through. I assumed everything was all set because I didn't hear back for over a day. Then they called (3 days before my reservation) to tell me the price went up by 100%. The reasoning was ridiculous - that they were changing to "Spring Prices" even though the reservation was for the upcoming weekend & had only been booked 2 days ago. I told them "no thanks for the $750 price quote & used Elite Chicago Limo for $304. It was cheaper than the original American One price and they were friendly and on time. read more
