There's a theme & drink deal every other day of the week (except when they're closed on Sunday) that get good crowds too. Drinks are cheap. The bouncers are very respectful and reasonable. The bar tenders are all good vibes and serve lots of people quickly. There's really nothing bad to say about Kam's. (It's even close to Green St Cafe so once Kam's closes, walk a block and you're golden.) Sure, the music is basic/pop but it's super easy to get what you want played on a slow night and you really can't please everyone in such a big crowd. (If you're looking for a place with a certain kind of music, check events at Canopy Club in Urbana.) Checked out this classic Urbana bar and grill. It has been around for a long time and still going…read morestrong. Bunny's is certainly not a fancy place but it's more modern than expected. Has a bar area and plenty of tables inside. There's also a patio great for watching live music. Best things about it are the drinks and food. It's fairly cheap as far as how popular it is. This is one of the main hangouts east of the campus area along with the Rose Bowl which is next to here and always has music on weekends. Come chill. It's about $5 to get basic mixers like Jameson and whatever. Food is better than expected. It's about $11 for an entree like a burger. These come with a side. I got a Veggie Burger. The coolest thing is they have a toppings bar where you can top it with onions, pickles, or whatever. Loaded it up and it was a glorious mess. The rest of the menu has other sandwiches including grilled cheese, Reubens, and others. For sure it's a classic and there's plenty more things coming. It's located on Water among some back alleys and other unassuming places. The best times are weekends when there's music and stuff.

There were surprisingly not that many people there on a weekend night. The ones that were didn't really seem too obnoxious. Inside is really old, decorated accordingly, and will put you in a time capsule to a time when the generation before us was slamming Old Style and signing their names in the club book. We enjoyed being able to sit at the bar and have some quality conversation, with decent music being played at a reasonable volume. I personally like the whole club type of vibe that most campus bars go for, but this was an unusually pleasant change of pace. The mug club was a must for everybody. We happily joined and were able to recite our numbers at the end to get our membership cards back. Solid place on campus that lets you experience a hidden nook of UIUC to avoid the obnoxious people, deafening music and super high drink prices. You will see me here again for sure.

Pour Bros is a great way to get a sample of beers from around here and worldwide. Get as little or as much as you would like to get. The price varies. Coming here a few times it's like there's always something else you can get. It's got shit tons of beers along the wall you can fill up on your own. The first thing is to get a card so you can activate taps. Every beer is at a price. It's per ounce and it adds up. Best one we got of these was the Wake Brewery selection Frost Hammer. It's $0.80 an ounce, which is one of the more expensive ones. Can bring food in here. They also have free popcorn. Have to know there's no special events before going or you will have to pay a cover. It's located on University at Market. There's not really any food but you can bring in stuff.
