Before I began wedding planning, I knew that I wanted a magical outdoor venue with string lights…read more But I never imagined a place like The Gardens actually existed until we toured it and saw how phenomenal it is in person! It truly is an upscale, ethereal garden and it brought my Sailor Moon-inspired dreams to life. It was so breathtaking that it was the only venue we bothered touring - we booked as quickly as we could! We only questioned that decision once, which was when we read the contract. It was a little bit surprising for the uninitiated, since we never knew a few things like how we need to add vendor counts to our catering totals or that music had to be off by 9:00 PM. But I want to reassure anyone else made nervous by these things that all of that was totally not a big deal, and actually a blessing in disguise on all counts! I also really enjoyed having Lynn being present on the grounds and a part of our wedding. She is so sweet and I heard from several guests how much they loved her and what a treasure she is. Previously, my then-fiancé and I had been to a wedding somewhere else where the staff were rude to us and other guests. We never told the couple about it because we didn't want to put a cloud over their day, but the result was that we became very nervous about our own guests potentially experiencing something like that. It was such a relief to hear how much our guests loved Lynn! She also helped me with a timing issue I had starting the ceremony, so that was a big help and support that I don't think we would have gotten anywhere else. Having our wedding at The Gardens was a dream come true and we know we made the best possible decision. I'm sure others have already gushed about having the ceremony/cocktail hour/reception at one location or the incredible bridal salon or the fact that there's so many hotel options within walking distance, so I'll leave it at that and just say that you will really love this venue if you're planning for an outdoor event!

Grand Reserve Inn - Love the fire pit

Perfectly Peaceful…read more My husband and I recently spent several days at GRI. From the first glimpse of this Tuscany-like villa, we knew we were in for an incredible experience. Our suite (one of five) was absolutely stunning. The Innkeeper (the first of three amazing Innkeepers) had the gas fireplace lit, and wonderful instrumental music playing, as she showed us our suite. The food was phenomenal: gourmet breakfasts, 5:00 wine and cheese, and homemade cookies in the evening. My favorite part was the patio with a fire pit overlooking the vineyard. It is difficult to find such peace and serenity anywhere. Aah... We anticipate return visits

From the linens to the décor, super luxurious accommodations set amongst acres of vineyards, each suite with it's own private deck overlooking Tuscany-style views in the heart of Amador wine country. Our host, Linda, made an incredible stay that much more homey. Each morning's breakfast was a feast, seated outside on the covered patio with stunning views. The meals were uber fresh (filling enough that we skipped lunch both days!). Every day around 5 you're treated to wine and cheese. Perfect location to wine taste on property or venture out to the growing number of top rated wineries. Walk amongst the vineyards or take out one the beach cruisers or trikes for a ride around. At night, the fire pits are a nice touch, or just lounge on you private deck for a sunset and a moonset. Looking forward to our return!

We truly love exploring Gold Country which is always rich with history. The Imperial Hotel is a hidden gem and I can't wait to come back. Built in 1879, but restored several times over the years the Imperial Hotel was a perfect place to grab lunch. We will definitely have to consider staying the next time we are up this way. We sat outside on the most perfect day that was a little breezy but with the perfect amount of sunshine! They have a great outdoor patio with fire pits for cooler days. We ordered the Buttermilk Crispy Chicken Sandwich with lettuce, pickled onion, aioli, and herb fries. Delicious! The chicken was really tender and the aioli was on point. We also ordered a harvest salad that had beets and sweet potatoes. It was also really flavorful. We ordered a Sauvignon Blanc and the Cinsault Blend. Both were wonderful and even better since we were able to try these local wines.
