I thought I was bringing my boys to admire the art and to have a good time, but I too had a very enjoyable experience. We visited on a Thursday, a little after noon. It was not too busy at the time, so we were able to truly enjoy the experience without a crowd of people. When we first walked in, we were surprised to find an entire house behind the door. That was the first of the surprises Meow Wolf held. I will not spoil all of the surprises here, but I must say that we were pleasantly surprised as we went through the exhibit. I could tell a lot of work went into making the various rooms and art in the rooms, and I commend the artists' creativity and downright ingenuity. It is true that everything won't appeal to everyone, and I do not know anyone who likes all music that comes on the radio, all art in a museum, or all books that are in a bookstore. The things that we liked, we savored, and the things that we did not like (which wasn't much), were ignored. As I made my way through some of the exhibits, I felt like a child in Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. The colors were so vivid, and the art in some areas just seemed to pop off the wall. My sons love having the ability to touch and interact with the art and not just look at it. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and are already planning our return.

The chairs move and fans blow wind, it was my favorite! -House of Fear- another excellent experience, you walk through and see different types of menacing creatures typically found in horror flicks, very fun and somewhat interactive as you walk through, loved it -wax museum was next fave, so cool all the genres and time pieces, they weren't too lifelike but close enough to be amazed! -the regular Ripley's museum takes the longest only because so so many things to read about, the displays had very bizarre things and people, a little on the twisted side. -my least favorite was the house of mirrors. There have been a few times that my gate has changed-at the last minute of course-and I've almost lost my breath shuttling to the opposite side of the airport to board my plane in time. Now I know why! This, however, was the first time my gate was located in Terminal D. Lo and behold, there were even MORE dining options but what instantly caught my eye and held my attention was the "Coca-Cola Around the World Experience." It's a Coca-Cola MUSEUM in DFW airport. I happen to enjoy quirky installations in unexpected places, and this one showcases everything from an interactive photo booth to a curated collection of vintage Coke memorabilia and even a digital archives explorer. There's a few big tables and pits with hundreds of legos, a book corner, and a big floor to ceiling interactive screen room which was amazing. There's also an outside area with rock walls and climbing areas. You can park your stroller at the start where there are bathrooms and hand washing area as well as a place to fill your water bottles. The museum itself was really nice with multiple floors of interesting topics from dinosaurs to space to an earthquake simulator. I think for those floors it's best to be 3-4 or older. I bought a VIP package, and the clerk only gave me the option to scan a bar code and listen on my cell. I did not being ear buds so this was a waste to me. Later, as the exhibit got busier, I saw the audio devices, so that was annoying that I wasn't given that option. Finally, the paintings followed a good flow but the informational panels and accompanying audio are numbered and the numbers do not match the flow. The hand held devices could simply scan in. I had to scroll through a website. I also did not like the lighting. While this is a temporary exhibit, the lighting could have been improved. I was not impressed with the exposed extension cords. Each exhibit had a stand alone light fixture, and most of the cord was tucked away. But the plugs were exposed. Finally the light itself was harsh. It looked good on the wall, but was glaring when you needed to read the informational panel. I bought a book for $12 at the end. It essentially shows each panel separately and contains the same information as the wall description. I would have loved to have this in my hand while walking through. Finally, don't miss the video presentations. I do recommend this exhibit. If they would spend a little extra effort, I would make it a high recommend.

21SEP26 I visited…read morethe C.R. Smith Museum again for an Outstanding Flight Attendant (OFA) luncheon with other OFA members, our management group, and directors. Since it wasn't my first time, it felt like a nice refresh just looking around and enjoying the collection once more. The museum does an impressive job showcasing the history of American Airlines aviation. You'll find a wide range of artifacts including uniforms, photos, silverware, documents, and more that tell the story of the airline's past and present. One of the highlights for me was seeing the Flagship Knoxville DC-3 again. I was able to view the interior and take plenty of pictures of this classic aircraft. If you're planning a visit, I recommend checking their official website (crsmithmuseum.org) for the most up-to-date information, as hours and schedules can change. Currently, the museum is open Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Whether you're an aviation enthusiast, an American Airlines team member, or simply curious about airline history, the C.R. Smith Museum is well worth a visit. Great exhibits and a memorable experience overall.
