This business was extremely unprofessional. I scheduled a home inspection during escrow and the Friday before the holidays. I thought I found a great inspector to help me with my home purchase. I guess wrong, this inspector cancelled on me the day before and less than 24 hours from my scheduled date and time. My appointment was 12 pm Friday and he cancelled on me 3 pm Thursday. I understand that we all have priority, but if you're going to cancel on a client like that, why be in business. I already take a day off to be at the inspection and I'm on a tight escrow schedule, so I don't need your unprofessionalism. The inspector wrote to me that he has some issues in the family earlier in the week so I have to cancel the inspection. If you know it earlier in the week, you should have let your client know asap, not the day before. read more

Update: Another major and OBVIOUS issue recently found. Asbestos insulation bagged sitting in the attic. True that home inspections do not include asbestos BUT he should have at least said "hey, there's 6 bags of insulation in your attic, may want to get that checked out." Unbelievable and frankly fraudulent. DO NOT USE THEM!!! read more

I found Mark after calling roughly 12 other inspectors in the area of Lancaster for a home I'm buying. Mark was by far the nicest on the phone, and was willing to work with my schedule. He came for the initial inspection and did a very detailed job, with pictures, a summary and a detailed report. After negotiating with the seller to fix some major things, I asked Mark to come back to recheck the repairs had been done. Mark came back a second time, and to my surprise the seller didn't fix what they said they did. The seller thought we wouldn't notice the job wasn't done properly. Mark told us, in front of the sellers agent, that the repairs were not done at all on one job, and done poorly on another. Again the repairs were redone. Mark came out a third time to recheck. Finally the work was done right. Mark was so honest, thorough, professional and always early! (even when I wasn't) I'm glad I picked him out of 12 other candidates. I did my research and found the best! My dad works in real estate and will start using Mark for honest, detailed and professional inspections. He was very professional, but at the same time I felt as though he was a knowledgeable family member giving me advice on my first home, and tips to make it better and save money. I usually sell homes in the San Gabriel Valley but had a recent sale in Palmdale. Mark Gilbert was referred to me by another local agent. Mark was extremely professional and was able to schedule us on short notice. He was very knowledgeable and gave my first time buyer some helpful advice on maintenance of the home.
