    They don't care about the tenants at all, and they will try to take more money anytime they can greedy people working for greedy landlords. I had mold for over a year and they didn't try to fix it until my last month in the property; Billia the new property manager (E-town location) told me I was able to leave anytime before the apartment was fixed and I won't breach the lease, when I gave her the day I was moving she told me " the roofers are coming in this x week and they will have it done before your moving out day and if they do that then you won't be able to leave without giving me a 2 month notice or pay 2 month of rent " I had to packed up the whole apartment within 2 days so she didn't win her f up game. The apartment from the bedroom to the kitchen was full of mold and they didn't care at all. Not only that the plumbing was horrible and almost every month I had to call maintenance because the water didn't go down in the bathtub; the heaters didn't work, the windows weren't put correctly.

    Didn't repair after several repair orders

    We've been trying to get repairs, personal property damages, medical damages, etc. resolved since April 2020 due to Harris TV breaking the ice maker water line. On January 2, 2021 Lauri Nay hired Couch Potato to install carpet and vinyl from April's water damages. They destroyed our unit with extreme dust and personal property damages. I'm so glad I have emails, text messages, and pictures of everything! Here's some of the incomplete repairs on December 16, 2021.

Since moving in (early June 2019) I have had horrible communication with my property manager in regards to move-in maintenance issues and pest control. I sent an email to corporate regarding all my concerns, and I have yet to receive any information. The only thing I did receive was a text message from my property manager stating that corporate forwarded him the email and that it looks like I had a long list of concerns. And that was it... I didn't get a date to set for pest control when new window installation would be, or if he will step in to discuss noise levels with other residents. I'm sort of left handing and very frustrated. I keep on playing phone tag with them all and have yet to receive any information. I spoke to other tenants in my complex and it seems to be a constant theme with the team. I had a long conversation with a representative at headquarters and she just stated that she will reach out to my property manager once more. Seems like a big run around. I personally regret leasing with them and do not feel safe for both personal and health standards.

    TERRIBLE!! We had no hot water during the coldest part of winter for over 2 weeks and there was…read moresewage backing up into the house for over a month. We were having to boil our own water for showers and our eyes were itchy and watery from the sewage fumes. I was calling daily 2-3 times a day trying to get them to repair the issues. They rarely respond and good luck getting anything fixed. Terrible, terrible slumlords. We eventually had to call the city and a lawyer. Our rental was condemned and we were put into a hotel. Thankfully, the owners of the property have dropped Slatehouse, who apparently were not communicating the extent or urgency of issues with them either. There is NO reason the owner should even have to approve an emergency repair like a broken hot water heater in winter or raw sewage floods! THERE ARE HUMANS OCCUPYING THE PROPERTY and it is inhumane to not make emergency repairs. Make the repair and bill the owner. Stay far far away from any Slatehouse rentals.

Electric bills completely too high. Phone calls never returned. Some phone calls not even showing in their system. It took over a week to get the new one installed after my lease started. I then had to keep my doors unlocked for these guys to bring it and install it, which they kept changing the date and time of, blaming Lowe's or Home Depot (I forget where it came from) so I ultimately could not move in until it was done. Still had to pay that rent though. 2. Was promised access to the basement. There's an outside door to a basement storage area where I intended to store my bicycle and what not. Took them several months to unlock it and bring me a key despite promising I would have access to it and that there was likely a lawn mower down there to mow the lawn with as that is part of my tenant responsibility. No lawn mower down there, surprise surprise. 3. The washer and dryer stopped working. Very grateful to have one in the unit, came with the property, but I put in a maintenance request. It took almost a month for anyone to contact me, and it was to refer me to my lease which stated that it was my problem to deal with. How stupid that I be responsible to fix the owner's washer and dryer. But regardless, it took them almost a month to even follow up about it. 4. I never put in a maintenance request for this but shouldn't property management companies power wash the property and have the interior cleaned up before renting it out? Luckily I saw the potential in this place and cleaned it up myself (which I feel should be compensated in my rent) but there's no way that the exterior had been power washed in the last 5 years; it was disgusting. All in all, love where I live and I was aware of this management company upon signing my lease, but they are exactly as I expected upon moving in, managing it very poorly. It makes me wonder if the homeowner is even aware of how poorly they are doing to manage these properties.
