The next step was for them to have a sales person call us and discuss estimates for a new machine. In the meantime we discovered an on/off switch on the back of the machine. It works. Two weeks later I never got a call back. I disputed the charge. They fought that dispute. They must really want that $180.00 so when we called to ask for a refund for basically no services rendered, they insisted on sending someone out again. Another employee looked at the machine and said it works but we have to run it manually. I see no problem with that. We had him look at our thermostat that they installed years ago. I asked him to see about a warranty or replacement. He said a sales person would get back to us. Guess what? Nobody got back to us! I'm out $180 and nobody to check on a warranty for my thermostat! I filed a charge back again but they fought it and somehow won.

Now here is the kicker. Another company told me I needed to replace my ENTIRE AC/FURNACE for $5,000. Kulla charged me UNDER $200 for the inspection, assessment and rwplacement of parts. I mentioned to the owner Kurt Kulla that his reviews are often low. He stated that anybody can write anything about his work and he doesn't have the time, man power nor inclination to patrol reviews of what someone may or may not have said about his work. "They can contact me if they have a problem. I'll listen. But I get most of my business from referrers and I'm VERY busy." And in fact, I got the Kulla referral from my neighbor. It always seems to happen at the worst time...no cooling when it's crazy hot...no heating when it's arctic cold! Tyler got me all fixed up in less than an hour. The problem ended up being a small fuse (see photo). The capacitor on the condenser was a little weak too so he put a new one in for me, just in case, as an added preventative bonus. He even offered to clean the fins on my outside condenser unit. But I told him that I can handle a cleaning job with my garden hose. After a year and a half the system failed and he refused to provide any service, first ignoring all contact and then simply not showing up when scheduled. Then when pressed, he admitted that he didn't know how to diagnose the problem. So I contacted the manufacturer (Pioneer) who talked me through the diagnosis and determined it was a bad compressor. They sent a replacement under their warranty but Ty refused to install even though I was still well within his 2 year warranty period. If you hire this guy, don't expect any support or service!

Came out for an estimate, and of the four companies that gave us quotes, Groff offered the best price for the best furnace and the quickest timeline. A few days later, they came back for installation. It took about 4-5 hours including complete set up, removal of the old furnace, and some quick paperwork for a rebate. Everyone was friendly, professional, and clean. The new one works like a charm and our house is warm again. Hopefully we'll never need them for another furnace as long as we live in the home, but would use them again if needed and recommend to others.
