What is notable about this job is that we have a home that was built in 1918 so our house does not have straight lines to work by. He made it look as though we did...that is a hard task. He has also demoed and installed a new tile floor in our powder bath, also not level, and it turned out flawless. The powder bath also needed new glass installed and and additional piece of wood trim...the tricky part was he needed to make it blend into the existing trim that is 100 years old...he did it and it looks beautiful.

I sent photos and Matt said the cost would be $85 per hour for labor plus materials. He estimated it could take up to 4 hours for the job, which we thought was excessive, but agreed to hire him due to the great reviews. He thought alltogether it could run from $350-$400. Being a business owner myself, I assumed he was quoting on the high end but would actually charge me for what he said - labor and materials. The job done by his one man crew was excellent. I must say the quality was great which is why I am giving three stars. However, the guy was at our house for just under three hours. I got a bill for $400. We priced the materials at less than $40. When I asked for a breakdown of the bill, he said it was three hours of time at the home, plus an additional hour to go pick up the materials, which comes to $340 and then exactly $60 for materials. I understand the upcharge on materials since they potentially did not have a 2 x 4 and some plywood on hand (though I find that hard to believe) and had to go get them. But then to upcharge and add an additional hour just so he could charge us on the high end of his quote is poor business practice. I verified this with other companies. He should have explained ahead of time that there would be an automatic one hour charge to pick up materials. I would not use this company again simply because of their poor business practices.

After their incredible work on our bathroom remodel last year, we simply had to have Blue Pine Construction come back post-haste to work their magic on our 40 year old kitchen! Blue Pine's team includes a professional and respectful crew that works swiftly and efficiently with care. This team is led up by Mike and Lorilyn, who helped us every single step of the way. They were both very patient as they walked us through all of the decisions that needed to be made -- cabinet types, flooring, countertops, color, fixtures, backsplash and all other finishes. Their suggestions and ideas really helped us hone in on our ultimate vision for the new kitchen. For the work involved, demolition of the old kitchen only began when all material for the new kitchen arrived onsite. This ensured swift daily progress. I'd also like to give a shout out to the clerical side. I love their web portal which allows me to login and track everything -- contracts, progress, changes, additions and invoices. It made the process as easy as humanly possible. Need a room brought back to life? Call Blue Pine Construction!

When I met with Mike to go over the specifications for the project, my initial impression was confirmed. He is very knowledgable and easy to work with. He provided some good suggestions for my new workshop as well as letting me know about any code requirements that we will need to consider. Blue Pine provides a customer portal which is not only a valuable communications tool but also has features such as change order processing, invoice payment and scheduling. The Daily Log is a great way for Blue Pine to show the progress of the project. Each day Mike posts a summary of the work that was completed as well as pictures of it. All of the people who worked on my project, both Blue Pine employees and subcontractors, were not only skilled at what they do but also very personable. I always felt welcome to stop by and see how things were going. How things went, was outstanding. I'm extremely pleased with the quality of work that was done. From the concrete finish to the electrical work and everything in between, there is nothing I look at and wish it had been done better. It seems to me that Mike takes pride in providing the customer with an outcome that they are very happy with and makes sure he hits that goal. Based on my experience with Blue Pine Construction, I can highly recommend them to anyone looking to have any type of construction project done.
