Complaint Description:
On January 26, 2017, I hired American glass and window Inc to install one duel doors for my residential home. The frame was not installed correctly. On January 26, 2017, I hired American glass and window Inc to install one eyebrow and three duel separate doors for my residential home. Upon completion of all the work, appeared that all doors and window were installed correctly. Once the doors settled in, we noticed the family door seem to be very hard to close. I made contact with one of the employees by the name of Alex who is a rep for the company and came over to finalize the deal before we started. One of the last text messages Alex sent me was on February 12, 2018 at 11:52 AM. It seemed like he was annoyed when we spoke. go figure ! The text read: Hey Luis..update the service team leader for PGT sent me an email that Jairo will be doing service for Louis Kattou. Panels arrived to them end of last week because it had been back ordered a few times. It is hard to believe that he part that is back ordered would be more than one year. I have spoken to the owner several times Who promise me that this will be corrected and told me the door was defective and needed to be replaced. Whenever we open this door which is several times a day, it needs to be slammed shut, and I mean to too point that the shades fall off. Attached, our photos of the door in question. It is a double door with two highlights on each side. Another issue I think I might run into is that being that the door was installed a year ago, will it match as far as the paint is concerned. I have expressed this concern from the beginning. It's been 1year and 5 months since I had this door replaced by them and still no calls or follow up from the company. BEWARE!!!!!!! Company is Not Good at all !!!!!!!!!!!!! No pride at all. On 05/14/18 PGT states that they were going to call Alexander who is the registered owner and let her know that her installers who put the door in , put it on wrong and also they the opening is not squared. I am very weary that she would call me to have her guys/installers fix the problem. That would mean to take it all down and start it over. That would be the response thing to do. I will let YELP know the results. It is now June 20th 2018, I have not received a call about the results of American Glass and Windows poor installments. I have given them plenty of opportunity to correct the big issue. I am forced to hire an attorney and sue. Again I say to the people out there!!! BEWARE!!! Very poor installers with no knowledge of how to install windows and doors. If you decide to use this company and get ripped off just reread this and blame yourself cause you have been warned. Update: August 12, 2018. I had no choice but to hire an attorney. Being that the owner who is never around and knows nothing about her business and could not stand behind her own company and do the right thing. Again the doors were not defective it was the installation that was defective. PGT replaced both doors to satisfy American Glass and Windows request. The doors are still not right. The frame was not squared causing the doors to be out of line. You can obviously tell the owner has no clue about squaring. I can say that she knows how take money from hard working customers. My mission is to make sure this company never rips off another person. Please potential customers, if you do anything, think about what American Glass and Windows have reacted to my issues. They simply ripped me off. I've called the owner who has refused to take responsibility.
It is now March 2024 and it's still irks me that a company like this is still business. 99% of their reviews are done in-house to reflect a great company but realistically they're the worse and do not back up their product or workmanship at all if you want to take the risk that would be something you would need to think about, but I would say to the smart ones, beware there's plenty of great companies out there and this is not one. read more
