Every year they offer: Carnival Rides (strawberry whirl (my fave) a bounce house/slide Carny foods Skydivers Austin Symphonic Band Free Watermelon Live Stuntman Show Rubber Duck Race Firework Show Move in the park after Fireworks and more.. not sure if all other things are every year as the above mentioned are.. A nice atmosphere. Lots to do. The regular park is there as well as the lake. Plenty of porta potties all around. Plenty of vendors to stroll through and see all the different stuff. Plenty of alcohol! At night there are many people wandering about with glow in the dark accessories for sale. Bring your cooler, your blanket, your chairs, your sunscreen and find a nice spot on the lawn.. and enjoy your day! I HIGHLY recommend staying for the movie that is playing... even if you don't want to see it, because the traffic leaving after the firework show is unimaginable! HAVE FUN!

It's almost picture perfect. We stopped by the Frontier Days Celebration on July 4th. It's a huge event with carnival rides, pig races, food trucks, and a few other vendors. I believe they had fireworks at night but we were there in the afternoon. The event was very organized and there was plenty of parking. I'd say they drew a crowd in the thousands on July 4th. This is a free event and its' really quite nice. Very nice for families with younger children.

The fireworks show alone was worth the entire trip and wait. It was far better than the 4th of July. In fact it was so good I can't even imagine what the 4th of July for Cedar Park has in store for fireworks. And I'm going to guess that what they've done in the past has been great. Okay, so they had live music all night long. They had carnival game. They had carnival rides. Balloon pops frog toss. The bag slide. The spinner ride. 3 free bounce houses. The hamster ball. Also known as zorb balls. Mechanical bull. Wipeout. Rock wall climbing. Bungee bouncing. Roasted corn. Hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, pickles, funnel cakes. Snow cones, water, soda, tea. A gymnastics show. And a firework show that pretty much just beat all. Everything was almost reasonably priced. It can get pricey with more than one child. Especially if a family of four is wanting to do each event. It's worth doing a couple but for the type of events I don't like forking over too much cash for that. The crowd was more than pleasant. The lines were not long. Everybody was a pleasure to be around. All the staff and volunteers were all very friendly and sweet. Justin nice atmosphere all the way around. The festival lasted from 5 p.m. To 8:30 p.m.. The firework show start promptly at 830. It lasted until 8 53. 23 minutes of absolutely astonishing fireworks. Let's not forget about the kickass park they have. With a multitude of climbing pieces. A slide that will knock you on your butt. And a swimming pool what the water playground for the kids and a slide for bigger kids and adults. My family and I had the time of our life out there today. We got there around 1:30 p.m. And we stayed until 9 p.m.. It was a blast. The firework show im still talking about it. It was just really great. I can't wait till next year. This will be an annual event for us. I wish we had been the last 5 years. But I'm grateful I found out about it and we got to go get here. And I'm very much looking forward to next year.

You see folks coming down steps on the opposite side and your sense of what you might see at the top grows and grows. Alas, you reach the top. Was the climb worth it? Absolutely! When you reach the top, OMG the views are so spectacular! You cannot imagine how beautiful the views are until you actually see them. You see panoramic views of Lake Austin, multi-million residences on the lake and scenic view of Austin. One word...spectacular! We have been at Mt. Bonnell at sunrise and sunset and both views have something special to offer. Sunrise has peacefulness and light dances on Lake Austin. Sunset turns the overlook into connectiveness, where folks you met a few minutes ago or maybe not have met experience this quiet together as the sun retreats. While this location is quite popular, you still have vestiges of human life - graffiti on signage. Mount Bonnell has welcomed visitors since the 1800s and remains one of the city's oldest and most beloved natural landmarks. Austinites beam with pride regarding Mt. Bonnell

No bathrooms or garbage bins here is the one downside. Take your trash with you!
