Great customer service, Integrity and Character from Preston Short, I highly recommend working with him, the minute the conversation started, until end of conversation. I felt like I maid a friend, He listen to my situation and explained in detail what my best move, been honest and not leading me into a dead end road, like I have experienced with other Veteran mortgage companies. He added some advice and resources to working with my student loan debt which I extremely appreciate. He was straight forward, best way to conduct business. Thank you Mr. Short. sincerely, Mr. Darius C Nercessian. read more

I usually don't write these but feel the need to give you fair warning. If you actually "need" anything from them...good luck. Receptionists don't pick up the phones, endless busy signals - and if you actually are lucky enough to get through and leave a message, nobody will reach back out to you. This is operating more like a company that's on the verge of going out of business. Nobody seems to care. Do yourself a favor, use another lender. Quality: None, Value: None read more

This bank assumed my mortgage from a larger, more reputable organization. Since then, my loan has been a nightmare. AFN has one of the worst online interfaces I have ever seen. Further, the bank is clearly a predatory lender who takes any opportunity to begin processing your loan for default. Run... do not walk away from this bank read more

It took a while to get in touch with the loan processor, and when I did reach her, she told me where she lived and wanted to know where I lived. I thought she was only trying to make small talk as she had not returned any phone calls or emails. Afterward, she kept stalling my loan process and blaming me for my disappointment in her lack of response. I read some of the more positive remarks about them. But my experience has been horrible with K, the loan processor. I would not recommend this company. read more

I have to give this organization five stars. An organization is nothing more than its people and the loan officer that I had Rick Winton was outstanding. When was the last time you heard of 17 days from start to finish for a loan and closing for a home purchase.? Because of Rick's expertise We were always ahead of the curve. When we initially sat down I was extremely upfront with him about my assets and everything going into applying for the loan. He told me exactly what I was going to need to provide him I did it and he worked his magic. Rick Winton is extremely knowledgeable and could make your next home purchase or refinance a dream. I have purchased five other homes in the past and this was the smoothest transaction and loan I have ever had. I must say this was as easy as getting a car loan. A Big thank you to Rick and his team. They are outstanding! I cannot recommend them enough. read more

This company is a joke ! If you re looking to reputable lender to partner with you can pass this one by. I have been a realtor for 22 years. I have worked with numerous lenders all types. This week I have been working to close two deals through AFN. The loan officer somebody I work with another company who is solid, so I know it's not her. I'll n both cases the loans were solid buyers, with very low to zero debt to income. And high credit scores. In both cases AFN drug their feet . They took 4 day to review a clear pest inspection. In another instance , 6 days after receiving a paystub they called out another client because their paystub said 70.5 hrs instead of 72. Thy don't follow the terms of the contract , and make up their own rules as they go. I will not send another deal to AFN read more

Catherine and Carly of American Financial Network were the absolute best during my first home-buying experience. Their kindness, support and understanding was something that made my experience such a pleasure compared to the horror stories I have heard about other people's experiences. I would recommend them to anyone from strangers to my closest family members. Can't wait to do this again with both of you! read more

Like another guy I saw they sent me a card it was guaranteed, as long as my credit stayed the same as it did last month blah blah blah. I am having no problems issues etc. If they could do as they say keep my term the same and lower my monthly by $500 with a better rate, ok cool. I was planning on selling in a year. So $500 a month less sounds like a plan. I have more equity than I owe. They can give me 20k out and and raise my mortgage a bit. I don't need the 20k really anyway. I would like to have a smaller monthly payment. It's a scam. They are preying on people who are broke refi-ing so they can get cash out. This is a scam. If you get a card in the mail from these people it's a scam. read more

Brandon Bromley and his team were professional, kind, patient, and very caring. As a grandmother starting over and raising 3 grandchildren we needed our own home! The road was rocky and I honestly shed tears at times. From constantly being outbid, to loosing my realtor to breast cancer during the process, I relied on prayer and trust in Brandon and his team to get me through this. Brandon always stayed so positive and checked on us. His team made sure we had everything needed to complete the process once I found our "forever home". Thank you, thank you for being patient and making it happen! Sincerely Stephanie Adams-Ringwalt read more

They sent me a card showing how great my credit rating was, and saying that a refinance at a much lower interest rate was GUARANTEED as long as my credit rating was the same and a few other things. They didn't say that there were a LOT of other things, and they wasted my time. read more

The WORST and sketchiest company. After months with them and almost losing the home we were to buy, we switched lending companies and smoothly bought our house within a month. They requested unnecessary personal information. It made me so uncomfortable. And then they couldn't close for us. Carmen Cipolone started this nightmare for us and Neil Anders manipulated us for months until we broke ties. DO NOT RECOMMEND. My cousins are all going through their "having a family" and "buying a house" phase and so my parents have been bugging me about buying a house too -_-' but they're all older than me so I feel like it's an unfair comparison... But still, I guess it is nice to know that I qualify if I want to? I was referred to American Financial Network by a family friend and they spoke nothing but high praises in regards to their own experiences. Chino Hills was not considerably out of my way, but it wasn't entirely convenient so I was able to do the whole pre-qualification process with my loan officer Eric online. He was very accommodating even when I felt like I was being unreasonable. Among some of the things that were requires are: - 2 yrs of tax returns - 2 yrs of w2 - paycheck stubs for the last 30 days - commissions checks - checking and savings statements for the last 3 months - employment history - residency history - drivers licenses - social security card I was able to scan and send him all of the require paperwork. Eric said he could set up a time that was convenient to meet me but I guess I was so lazy I didn't want to come in on the weekend. Plus I work in billing so I'm almost desensitized about my personal information. So now I just have to wait about 30 days to see whether or not I qualify and/or how much I qualify for. I don't think I'm buying anytime soon, I just want to flatter my ego :D the best thing is that this prequalification process is FREE. woo hoo!! i love free!! but on a more serious note, I would definitely come back here again when I'm actually seriously looking for a house. Convenience saves time, and time is money... so I especially recommend this place due to their customer service skills. read more

Our experience with AFN was better than great, it was fantastic! It was also our third time working with Faaye and his team because they are experts. My fiancé and I were first time home buyers and Alex and his team made the process super easy! He answered all of our questions, we were able to get our documentation to them as quickly as possible in order for them to do their part in getting everything turned in and completed. Very professional and friendly staff with quality customer service! We are happy with our new home and grateful for all the help we received from this team! read more

Run run run. We have had nothing but problems with A.F.N. They immediately jacked our escrow up 250 dollars when we refinanced with them. They changed their operating system so we had to reinput all of our information. This caused a double payment which they have done everything in their power to avoid refunding. Do not do business with AFn read more

My refinance started MARCH 1.. it's now almost JUNE with no end in sight. Originally was supposed to close March 16 with Cashcall. Cashcall gave me the runaround for 2 weeks until they finally suspended all lending on March 31 days for 2 MORE weeks. Mid-April, AFN took over my refinance but have been giving me the same runaround since. It has been 3 months of: No answer. No answer. Wait til 16th. Wait til the 30th. Wait 2 weeks. Wait til Friday. Wait til early next week - by 20th. Friday rolls around again. Still nothing. 20th rolls around. Still nothing. No answers. I get that its not business as usual... but either you're going to provide a service or you're not. Stop dragging me along for the ride with no updates... and no end!!! They had me sign an "intent to close" statement so I can't even shop around for other rates/loan while they stiff me. OTHERWISE I HAVE TO PAY THEM COMMITMENT FEE of $995!! June 16 update: NO ONE is reachable by phone and completely ignores any requests for a call. All I get are more delay tactics and attitude from my FOURTH processor Melissa Brown: First ignores my email for a week. Then "Expect to close by June 8th". "I hope to get them out in two days". "Probably a couple more days". Still NOTHING. Seriously, what is the hold up? I have zero debt (other than this 200K mortgage), straightforward W2 wage, near 800 FICO, and have ALREADY signed the closing docs with a mobile notary for this same refinance! I'm beginning to think they don't want to fund my refi and want ME to cancel the loan since otherwise it would be a breach of contract. I'm not quitting. I'll fight til the end. My next steps will be complaints filed to Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and CA Dept of Business Oversight, Google reviews, Zillow reviews, every platform I can find. read more

Don't do business with this company they will have you running around for month to come up with no loan. They have done a lot of illegal stuff under the table and can't close your loan. They do not have the money and only look to take your information and sell you loan. At certain points during your loan process they sell your information. If you want to come up with some form of identity theft deal with this company. They do not know anything about or have the money to close the loan Seth Daniels and his team there at AFN are a bunch of crooks, with no head way. They need to stay out of the business and have a companies who can close the loans get the job done. I will be reporting them to local banking authority. read more

I too got a postcard in the mail saying I could get a certain interest rate. In fact, it said I had been "preapproved!" I responded to what I thought was a legitimate offer. But then came the bait and switch. Even after they'd verified that my wife and I had very high credit scores, the interest rate the guy quoted me was not only higher than the what was on the postcard but was higher than my current rate. And there was no explanation for it. The whole thing then became a sales pitch, not a professional conversation regarding obtaining a mortgage. What bothers me is that all of this came after I gave this guy my SS number, DOB, source and amount of my income, and access to my credit reports. In the end it was all an extreme invasion of privacy for nothing. This company is right up there with used-car sales people and politicians. read more

The Plano office cannot be trusted to get your deal closed on time. We understand delays happen, but the root of the delay was inadequate communication and an inefficient escalation process. The loan officer was responsive, but rarely with specific commitments. When we did get specific commitments, there were always further delays. The loan officer said the manager was involved, but when the closing kept dragging on she never offered proof they were involved. Had the promises made and turn time commitments been kept, or reasonable expectations would have been reset proactively, we would have trusted the loan officer more, and not given so few stars. read more
