Clothes are well made but something you can find almost anywhere.
Store is so full it's hard to find anything. Want your size? You have to dig through a pile of about 50 pairs of jeans to find yours, but they usually have your size. Usually...
Friendly staff but there are about 15 employees at a time, maybe because it's December? I'm not sure who works there or who shops there often. And apparently none of them really know what's going on.
My sister and I stopped by in the morning and she found a bra from the Aerie department that was on sale for $23. While looking around the store an employee all but forced her to buy more from the Aerie department to receive a free pair of slippers if she bought $40 worth of Aerie. He showed her the slippers and everything, but she decided against it. She went to purchase a sweater and the bra. At the counter we were again told of the sale and showed the slippers.
Later she decided that she wanted a different size bra. So we returned, the same day by the way. She went to the Aerie department and the employee found her a bra that was one size smaller in the band. She commented on how the bra looked much too small to be one size smaller. The employee insisted it was the right size. I was near the front counter and she came to show me. She can be timid and didn't want to make a big deal, but after her showing me I insisted she try it on. Like we suspected, it was way way too small to be one size smaller. She told the girl, but she still insisted it was the correct size.
My sister showed me the difference on her. First a 34D that fit well but as any woman would know, the band should fit snug on the tightest band setting to allow for stretching over time. The next size down was the 32D that looked like two eye patches with plenty of boob bulging from the sides, it had to of been a 32C or smaller, there was no way it could if been a 32D. Still, the employee insisted it was the right size. A moron could tell a difference in the cup size. So she informs us of the sister sizes. She tells her that the 34C was the same as the 32D. While there is some truth to that, she trys on the bra and sure enough, eyepatch business again. Then she tells us that a 36B would probably fit. Just for giggles she trys it on, sure enough, eye patches barely covering the nips. We were certain that she was going to insist on a 38A and almost relished in the idea of her suggesting such a thing, but no luck on that hilarity. She decided that to keep the bra instead of continuing the charade.
On the way out of the Aerie department we noticed a shirt that our mother might like for Christmas, even though she hates everything. This brought the Aerie total to $44. "Rad!" We thought. After all of that bra nonsense we could at least get a free pair of slippers." We asked the same Aerie employee where those slippers we were almost forced in to buying earlier THE SAME DAY. She replied "oh, that sale was two days ago". We explained that we were told of it earlier the same day. Then she all but said we must of been confused with two days ago. Huh? Really? Our receipt says we came in today about 6 hours earlier.
We went to the register and asked there. Same thing, it was two days ago. We told them we were told of the sale earlier that day, the girl at the front counter actually asked for our receipt to prove it was the same day. Not that it helped anything, no sale slippers for us. We were treated like we just made the whole thing up! A frustrating experience to say the least.
I really can't imagine a business having multiple employees telling you about something you will get for free and then later treat you like you are lying. I don't need any damn slippers but I'll be damned if get treated like crap because their employees don't know what the heck is going on! read more
