Very nice guys who are very fair. I sold stamps and they gave me a fair price. There were two other people in line ahead of me getting coins appraised and these guys seemed really knowledgeable. I will definitely come here again for collectibles. read more

Had a sizable collection of inherited coins and I am so grateful that American Coin and Stamp was my first stop. Had a number of other places bookmarked and originally intended to get quotes from multiple locations before selling. Eric was friendly, patient, answered all questions, and was delightfully transparent about each item he was assessing, even sharing what the mark up would be on things for reselling. By the time he was through giving a comprehensive valuation and offer, I knew I had no need to go any place else. Offered cash or check, and we left very pleased with the experience. Highly recommended to anyone interested in any of the services they offer. Would gladly buy from or sell to them again! read more

These guys are so knowledgeable and informative. I was able to buy a few items that I was looking for as well as sell some old coins from my father. I felt like I got a very fair deal. read more

What a cool place. Family run store with passion. We brought in a small penny collection and some loose coins. The son was upfront and honest regarding their value and what happens with them after they purchase them. The historical knowledge that they have about coins, stamps, baseball cards, toys, etc is incredible. We highly recommend this business if you have anything you want to sell or just want information about. We'll definitely be back when we find any more treasures. read more

Came from NYC to visit family and stopped by this place and ended up picking up a 1/2 kilo silver bar and a 2oz coin. Two cool guys in the shop were friendly with a good sense of humor but importantly, straight shooters. They have a good selection with fair prices, I will definitely be returning my next visit. As an experienced bullion accumulator I would recommend this place to beginners as even though this was my first time there, I feel very confident they operate in an honest manner universally. read more

American Coin and Stamp - Silver bullion - Hobby Shops Near Me - Merrick, New York

Super friendly folks here. Took the time to explain things and advise me as I started my coin and bullion collection. Highly recommended!

Having inherited a few coins, we decided to get an idea of their value. Just by chance, and it being so local, we found American Coin and Stamp Brokerage in Merrick. This place is great! They have coins and stamps galore, but also many other collectibles; beer steins, art, Grumman memorabilia and toy trucks just to name a few. It is a family owned business, and we had the pleasure of meeting with Richard. He carefully examined each item, explained what he was looking for and at, then assigned a value to each. What we appreciated most was his willingness to educate us, taking the time to answer questions. His knowledge and professionalism was outstanding! Looking forward to doing business with them again! read more

Inherited a fair sized coin collection and was very nervous about selling it for a fair price-especially since I don't have knowledge of coins. Eric spent a lot of time going over each piece and I believe he gave us a fair price. We also received quite a history education that directly tied in with the various coins and bills. It was a pleasure doing business with Eric and the American Coin and Stamp shop. read more

Kevin & Patrick run a fair and honest shop here. I was looking to start my journey into precious metals and they couldn't have been more helpful. They took the time to educate me and understand what I'm looking to do before diving in blindly. They have an excellent collection of gold & silver coins and were well stocked while everywhere else has been low. If you're new to precious metals, check them out as you won't be taken advantage of. read more

My son found some coins that he wanted to go get appraised, he was convinced they were worth thousands lol, we came to American coin & stamp brokerage and i couldn't be happier that I chose to come to this place the staff that helped us not only explained each coin to my son and the differences between the costly and not costly one but they also played a trivia game with him after and let him keep 5 cool coins, he can't stop talking about how much fun it was...especially during these times that the kids don't get to go to many places I can't thank these guys enough!! Awesome experience. If you have collectibles or are in the market for some this is the place to go! read more

This is a true family run business. Honest and fair from top to bottom. I highly recommend paying them a visit for any of your precious metal or coin collecting needs. Ask for Rich or Eric and they will take excellent care of you. read more

I visited a few places on LI but none compared to American Coin & Stamp Brokerage. The gentlemen that helped us was very knowledgeable and personable. He took the time to explain how each coin in my small collection was valued and graciously answered every question we had. We even found out that they offer to visit your home in the event your collection is too cumbersome to transport. If your looking for a place to buy or sell collectibles. This is definitely the place for you. read more

I was delighted to have my stamp, coin and jewelry items appraised at this long-time family owned shop. Rich was informative, patient and fair in his assessments. Lela, the shop dog was an added attraction, and a cup of cappuccino hit the spot. Many thanks for your time. read more

Our attourney recommended that we visit Rich to sell our silverware and so we made the drive from Merrick to NJ. We are really happy that we went out because we felt we were given a really great deal. Rich is an expert in the field and we look forward to working with Rich again. read more

I was looking to get one of my bank notes graded but I was unsure of how to do it. Eric not only took time out of his day to explain everything to me but he looked over all of my paperwork and also provided me with the shipping materials to get it their safe. Free of charge. He was extremely knowledgeable and a genuine dude. I would highly recommend these guys for any questions, buying or selling. Thanks again Eric. read more

I went to another dealership to have something appraised that I purchased from here several months ago after reading some disturbing information. Despite the "market" value being almost double from the time I purchased it, it seems as if I was just another con victim smh.. read more

I just returned from the shop. Showed Eric my stamps, and he gave me some info on them. None were worth a hoot, and so he did not offer to buy them. I do trust his opinion of things. He was friendly and knowledgeable about the collectibles market overall. I mentioned to him items that I had at home and he gave me his honest opinion about what had value, and what did not. I spent pretty much time picking his brain and I didn't feel rushed at all. I may bring some coins in next time because I feel he'll be honest in his evaluation, and I think he'll want to purchase some of them. It's nice to have a place like this in the neighborhood so you don't have to deal with online transactions. read more

I have been going to them for 30 plus years and must say they are the best on Long Island. They have a good selection and if you don't see what you want they either have it in the back or will take your number and actively search for it. Have tried other dealers and nobody beats Rich or his son Eric. They are honest almost to a fault in that they always do the right thing. I have watched them with other customers that they could have made a little extra money for themselves and yet were honest and paid top dollar, even when they could have not. Rich would rather have a sterling reputation rather than make an extra dollar. I have both bought and sold and their advice has always been spot on. I have even sent people to him without me going and he has done right by them. They have gone out of their way and got me a coin and held onto it until i could come in, without so much of a thought, now that's a coin dealer. Family owned and honest, all you could ask for in a coin dealer. I have also gone back and had coins graded that i bought from them 25 years ago, high end coins that have come back one to two grades higher than what i purchased them for. one coin , a morgan i bought in 1991 at ms63 for 70 dollars. Had it graded and it came back ms65 and in 2017 and worth 650. Not a bad return on investment. Showed it to Rich and he was really happy it came back so high, mostly because he always tends to air on the side of the buyer and a lesser grade. Mike B read more

I been to see Richard Cincotta a few time. The first time was with stamps and again with sterling flatware. I have to say each time he surprised me with how honest and fair he is. Yes, I have gone to other brokers but, I found them not as honest or fair. I would recommend Richard to everyone. I don't give recommendation with ease but, I am recommending him to everyone. I don't think you'll be disappointed. read more

I trust this company like they are family. I sold some silver to them for a good price and was happy with the deal.
