John dropped me off and brought me back home did not comes out from the vehicle it was an unmarked vehicle did not have the company logo on it I was charged $72 when I called for the cab the man said $3.50 per mile it was 7.8 miles so let do the math and gave him a big fat tip also I was charged $17 extra I gave him $100 this including his tip I think they tell you something over the phone and anoth thing when they picked you up I don't think I am not going to used their service anymore amen I felt it was a ripped off I spoke to the manager Bailey but he claimed i did not give him a tip, I gave John $100 for the trip to and from besides I gave him another $50 to take me to Publix but karma will hit hard guys be careful with this cab company. read more

Sent them an email request for a cab to pick me up the next morning, never heard back from anyone. Booked with another company. Walked out the next morning and both companies were there! Felt bad and gave the American Cab driver a $20 but shouldn't have had to do that. Please, American Cab, respond to your customers and confirm before sending a driver. read more

I used to use American Cab when beach side and had absolutely no problems. Since moving to Melbourne, I have tried to use them twice now and am beyond disappointed. No driver ever showed and had to walk a good distance both times. Never again will I call them. read more

Always fear cabs as they can take you on longer routes or quote higher prices for those visiting the area. But sure did get lucky this time! Called a day ahead to schedule a 4:40am pick-up. The nice lady gave me a $10 quote to the airport. Just needed my name, address and phone number and a minute later I had my reservation from Melbourne to MLB Airport. Peace of mind but after reading a Google review about the driver being late I was a bit concerned. 4:30am I got a call from the driver and he was parked in my driveway and 10 minutes early. He asked if I needed any assistance over the phone with my luggage. Stepped out to a very new black mini-van and a super friendly driver with a pony-tail. He's lived here for 30 years so you'll hear alot of great tid-bits about F.I.T. and the general Melbourne area. As promised the driver only asked for $10. We stayed the weekend in Melbourne for a wedding. This morning we called down and asked for a bellman to help us bring down our bags, and also asked to call us a taxi to take us to the airport. The hotel had been very busy over the weekend and our desk clerk advised that the bellmen were busy and might take a bit of time. We were okay with that and visited with family until he got to the room, and the bellman was great in taking us out to the taxi and loading up our bags without even being asked. The ride from American Cab, unfortunately, was much less than expected. As we pulled away from the lobby our driver immediately got on her phone, while driving, to complain about how long she was made to wait and suggested we were at fault. The drive to he airport was jarring, the driver had no respect for safe following distance and more than once had to jam the brakes when cars ahead slowed down. Our cab didn't have any sort of visible meter to ensure that the rate the driver charged us ($28) was accurate or fair, but when we arrived and before I got out I paid with cash and tipped generously for the driver's inconvenience of being made to wait. I really shouldn't have, the driver offered absolutely no help removing our bags from the back of the taxi and instead stood there watching while I struggled to pull our largest bag out. I've reached out to the hotel to suggest they no longer call American Cab, if you have a choice you should look elsewhere. read more

After making arrangements with this company to make a reservation, to be picked up the morning after for surgical procedure, the company stood me up, explaining that the message was crossed. I needed a ride to the airport and scheduled a pickup the day before for an early morning pick up. I called the company after waiting 10minutes past my pick up time. The driver told me he was busy at the airport and proceeded to tell me that my flight wasn't leaving anytime soon. I took Uber. I would suggest anyone who operates on a schedule to not use this taxi service. They have no respect for people's itineraries. read more

Made arrangements at in he morning for a afternoon pick up to go to the airport. When 5 minutes late I called the company to check status. I was told "I was on the schedule" while the TV or radio was blaring in the background. A few moments later we received a call back to say the cab was "on the way". After 20 minutes we received a call from the driver to let us know that he was a minimum of 15 minutes away and could not guarantee when he would be there. His excuse was his other ride ran long. When I make an appointment for a pick up I expect the company to be within 10 minutes of the scheduled time. I opened UBER app. Driver was 9 minutes away. Watched the driver drive to me via the app. No misunderstandings and no lies as to where the driver is and what was scheduled. I take a ride to and from the airport once a month. Normal cab fee with tip is $43. UBER with additional $5 tip was $27. And UBER was on time. Traditional taxi companies need to wake up. They are more expensive for the same ride and cannot meet a time they agree to. They lie to their customers to cover failed services. 21st century tech will crush your business of you do not wake up and provide the service you agree to. read more

I reserved a cab two weeks in advance. I called the day before to confirm, and they had no record of it! For my round-trip, I received a friendly, helpful driver on first leg of the journey. On the return trip, I received a driver who rolled the window down when she arrived to tell me to get in and just put my walker in the back seat with me (Yes, I'm disabled). I folded and loaded the walker, then myself, with great effort while she talked into her phone loudly. She smelled horribly, as if she hadn't showered in days, then wanted to charge me 50% more for the return trip than I paid for the initial trip! After talking her down to only a 25% increase, she took a personal phone call while I waited before finally charging my credit card. I then unloaded myself and my walker and left. read more

Terrible - they had no clue when our ship returned and told me I would be reimbursed for the taxi I needed to take to get to my car. I should have known when we paid cash and our receipt was their card with paid RT on the back as the receipt I was in trouble. Stay away - btw they work with Premier Parking in Port Canaveral (apologize if I really screwed up the spelling). Just park at the lot near the ship - another relative had no trouble parking there and ended up only paying a few dollars more once all the charges (especially the unexpected ones) were said and done. read more

From the moment I spoke to the contact person , a lovely woman, who was most informative until the new model mode of transportation arrived and I met the driver I was impressed with the professionalism and concern for the clients whom they transported. The only part that was difficult for me is that taxis' are expensive in this county which is the norm for any company since I am disabled on a fixed income. I was impressed too with the driver who pointed out an additional grip that I could use to help me exit the vehicle more easily. It could be compared to to a ride one is given from a friend. First few times I've used this company, they've been ok....sometimes on time, others not. This last time I requested a cab, went outside to look for the cab driver, and 4 minutes after the scheduled time of arrival I saw him speeding off. I was furious and late for my appointment. I was forced to call another cab company instead. What a waste of my time. The driver didn't even bother to call me. How do you speed off after 4 minutes of waiting? I also had to spend time looking in the parking lot for him, because he was not parked where promised. Never calling this company again. read more

Great service. We had another cab set up to take us to the airport, but the other company never showed up. I called American cab and he got to use within 10 minutes. We got the the airport quickly and enjoyed the ride. The driver was very nice, funny, and happy. Cab was clean, smoke free, and spacious. Price was very reasonable as well. made online booking 90 mins ahead of time, when 15 mins late, I reached out and was told the, "...driver is on the way". after another 30 mins and then 45 mins, and two more contacts I was finally told another driver had been sent because they had to, "call the police" on a customer. When a driver finally showed, 90 mins AFTER my scheduled pick up time, he told me that had been a lie and the previous driver just had some problems. If you're going to lie, at least get your stories straight first. It had always been booked as a round trip, so when I told the driver to wait for 10 mins and we would go back, he said he couldn't wait. When I reminded him of my 90 min wait, he did so begrudgingly. The website claimed a 20% discount today, when i asked, i was told, "no". Not even any consideration for my wait. Will call someone else next time. Which stinks, cause the last time I used them, they were fine - which is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1. read more
