I have time stamps of our calls when I was waiting and plenty of texts of him flipping out. I was the last to be picked up after a late flight alone with an infant. I made the reservation well over a week in advance and told them I would be alone with an infant. I called when I boarded my plane and when I landed so they knew my flight was running late. I was upset on the phone when I couldn't find my car and said "I paid a lot for this ride" and the owner LOST it on me. Then proceeded to text me as well. I've never experienced anything like it. The driver was extremely nice but told me this was scheduled as a last minute pick up. He didn't have the address and I had to use my own GPS for us to get to my destination. We were charged $192 for a round trip. My destination was two miles from the airport lol. Called a local guy today who said it would be $40 round trip for the same flight times. I understand an up-charge for a late/early morning flight but wow the way he speaks to customers is pretty wild. Zero empathy or customer service skills. Giving two stars because the driver was actually so nice and he got me where we needed to go despite not being giving information before. No idea if the owner is just going through a hard time in life but he was super defensive and combative and insisted I was rude because I was upset to be alone at the airport with my baby after being told someone would be WAITING for us. She was rushed and left her laptop in the UBER and contacted UBER to let them know. They reached out to the driver and she stated she had the laptop but was out of the area! Well, apparently she has been out of the area for well over a week and has NOT returned her laptop! I will be reaching out to numerous social media sites to report this and NEVER using them again if they cannot be trusted! This was her business laptop so very important and yet no one has tried to get this back to her AFTER admitting she has it! She missed out on a HUGE TIP, because of this and I for one will make everyone I know aware of this very disturbing issue. I will stop recommending UBER and instead look to LYFT next time. Said he tried to call me (granted my network service is dodgy), but all I found on voicemail was a 'click'. I key the microphone and say, "Morristown Tower, Triple 4 Kilo Charlie ready for departure, active runway closed traffic." The response echoes in my ear, "Triple 4 Kilo Charlie, cleared for takeoff, closed traffic." I taxi the Piper Cherokee onto the active runway, push the throttle gently to the stops. The plane accelerates down the runway. 40 knots, 50 knots, 60 knots, 65 knots, 70 knots...pull back on the control wheel. OMG, that's it I'm flying. Oil pressure is good, and I am accelerating past 80 knots. *** This is a memory that I will keep with me forever. It was the day I first flew an airplane by myself. I'd previously labored with a couple of different Single engine aircraft from Cessna- I don't like them because of their characteristic and tendency to snap and roll aggressively when performing power-on stalls. The Piper Cherokee is a gentle aircraft ideal for learning to fly and transporting 2 to 3 people with luggage about 600 miles. The Piper Aircraft company produces excellent, well respected and safe aircraft serving the general aviation market. The models include the Warrior III, the Meridian, Malibu, Archer III, and Seneca. Recalling the memory of my first flight has me reaching for my flight bag with the intention of getting some peace and quiet with a quick trip to anywhere for a $100 burger.
