Based on the reviews/rating I decided to offer these guys the job to remove a tree in my backyard and they did get the job done as quick as possible. Time wise wasn't the best because of the weather we had, but there was nothing they could do about that. The aftermath wasn't great because the lawn got destoryed, but that was due to the weather and they did warn me about the ground now being dry enough so I accept that downside. What I am disappointed is the fact that they never told me about the damage that was done to my fence having multiple holes from falling tree branches they cut down. I have no idea how this company is still in business. If you are considering using this company, I would strongly recommend you reconsider. We didn't even contract with this company, our neighbors did. However, despite never obtaining direct permission from us, the workers proceeded to drive heavy machinery onto our property to access the neighbor's property without so much as a knock on our door. Even with it being the first day above freezing This year, no efforts were taken to prevent damage, such as putting down boards, as evidenced by the large track marks in our yard. Once they had finished, our driveway had brand new cracks, front, back and side yard all had machine tracks ripped through them, or side fence had been dented by machinery, trash was left in the yard, bricks were pulled up and our back fence still today isn't fully reassembled. Fast forward to today and our yard still has noticeable damage even months later. We initially decided to forgive the mistake as the company promised they would "make it right". As it turns out all this included was a couple bags of dirt and some loose seed. When we protested that the damage done left several inch deep ruts in our yard and that this needed to be addressed, the owner responded by completely dismissing our concerns and stated she would not be doing anything else to fix the yard. It is one thing have your property damaged by a contractor but to be ensured that things would be made right only to have them change their mind after a half ass attempt at a repair is another. At every turn American Arborists took shortcuts to save time and money rather than putting in the slight effort to do anything correctly. Could not recommend less. read more

Do not go near this company with a 100-foot pole--stay away at all costs. Liars, terrible communicators, and a condescending owner. If I had to choose between recommending this company to someone or putting an aging relative into a nursing home, my only dilemma would be which nursing home to use. If I could, I would pay my own money to Google just to give this company zero stars instead of the one I'm required to leave. By far, the most unprofessional company I have ever worked with in any industry. My three young children have better communication skills than anyone at this company. We lost a massive tree branch during the snowstorm in March 2025. I considered using my own tools and chainsaw to remove the debris but decided to hire a tree removal company instead to avoid damaging my lawn. You'd think a professional tree service would have the common sense to lay down wood boards or use the black diamond steel protection mats they had from the previous owner (whom I know). Instead, they repeatedly drove a 2,000-lb skid steer all over my lawn (front and back) without any protective measures. One would assume a company like this would at least use the same path to minimize damage, but for some reason, they thought it was acceptable to drive all over --even directly in front of my front door. I've had four different neighbors ask me what they were thinking in spinning a skid steer around on my lawn. (Videos and pictures to follow.) To make matters worse, they didn't even complete the work on the scheduled day--Saturday. After voicing my frustration about their reckless approach, they returned three days later and did the exact same thing with the skid steer! Either this was done on purpose, or they genuinely have the communication skills of toddlers. Absolutely pathetic. I raised my concerns about the deep tire ruts they left behind, and their sales guy, Kasey, responded via text with, "...That sucks man." He also assured me that his team would fix the ruts, lay down dirt, and spread grass seed. A week passed with no follow-up, no updates--nothing. The only communication I received was an automated QuickBooks email with a link to pay the outstanding invoice. Realizing this company wasn't coming back to fix their damage as promised, I spent $600 of my own money to haul away the remaining debris they left behind, including branches and sticks they had agreed to remove (I still have a garbage can full of debris I raked myself). I also had to buy a motorized tiller to fix the 7-inch-deep tire ruts they left in both my front and back lawn, as well as my own grass seed and topsoil. Thinking they might take some responsibility, I offered to pay $800 of their $1,350 invoice, given that I had to spend $600 to fix their mess. A decent, respectable company would have acknowledged their failures and accepted the offer. Instead, the owner, Mitch Waite, then sent the most condescending email imaginable, attempting to disguise it as a professional response. He even complained that his workers had to spend time away from their families on a Saturday morning. Mitch, if that's such an issue, then next time, don't accept the job that YOU agreed to. Because I have integrity--and because his response was one of the most pathetic, time-wasting emails I've ever read--I paid the invoice in full immediately. I will make it my mission to ensure that no one ever recommends this company for tree services. Pathetic. Cowardly. This one's for you Mitch - "With gratitude!" read more

We were treated with prompt enthusiastic attention. Our home had just gone on the market that day when a huge limb dropped. We were away! Our neighbor called to alert us. We called American Arborist and shared our tale. They were able to juggle their experts and quite literally saved the day. We are deeply grateful. We felt the bid was more than fair. I requested a quote to trim our large silver maple and American Arborist not only came back with the most competitive quote but they also listened to me. I had several companies quote us for this tree and try to convince me to remove it. American Arborist explained to me what to watch out for and gave me a timeline of how we could slowly trim it back without removing it completely. I had Dan and his crew remove 2 large trees from from my property and they did an awesome job. I had them trim another tree and all was roped down and away from my house nicely. The crew took great care not to damage my yard or property. They did a great job of raking the yard and cleaning the street, like they were never there. I found the pricing to be very reasonable. We noticed a large branch on our Ash tree was cracking. It was a dear branch because it was about 28 feet high and was supporting the longest swing you've ever seen for our kiddos. Dan came out to take a look to see if it could be saved. It had to go. The crew did a great job removing the branch, saving the swing so we could relocate it, and doing a thorough job cleaning up. Great job removing a maple tree from the back yard. I'd have given 5 stars, Dan, if you would have returned my call (I left a v.m.) regarding scheduling, and I had a question I'd have asked about trimming the tree in the front if you'd have called back. So, about three days later, after leaving that v.m., with no return call I thought I was going to look for another service but that day I came home from work and the tree in the back was gone.
