The AA staff here was friendly and helpful. The day I flew out there was a storm and all flights were stopped for over an hour, thus causing lots of delay. The airport itself is a mess and not suited for delays and back-ups of passengers waiting like we experienced. But the AA staff handled this with professionalism. read more

American Airlines is the worst large business for customer service in the United States. They make United Healthcare look good. I fly approximately 200,000 miles per year. Multiple airports, in and out of Dallas, connecting throughout the United States. American Airlines is a monopoly and they treat their customers like crap because they can. Simple economics. When you own that much of the market, you have no repercussions from a service perspective. My flight was canceled without an explanation or apology. They could say this was for safety, but it's for financial gain, likely because the flight was early in the morning. 12 hours later, I am still waiting. Deplorable that they're even called American Airlines. Thanks, American Airlines for completely ruining my day and not having any idea that it happened. You're completely out of touch with your customer base. Eventually, someone will innovate enough to put your company in trouble and you'll have to start paying attention to your people. In the meantime, maybe one of your executive team members should get on a plane and experience mediocrity firsthand. Shame on you all. read more

American Airlines - Airlines Near Me - Omaha, Nebraska

I don't have any significant complaints about American Airlines. Some seats can be a tight squeeze, but I was fortunate on one flight to not have anyone sitting next to me. The staff is always very nice. However, my only issue is with the customer service at Omaha. One of the representatives was engaged in a personal conversation with a man as I was on my way to check my bag with priority. I had to wait behind them and listen to their banter about personal matters like "how's the kids" and "did you sell the house," while I was just standing there as a paying customer. The man was not at her window; he was just passing by and stopped to talk to her. She clearly saw me waiting, and he apologized when he turned around and noticed me. It would be more courteous to prioritize paying customers. read more

My experience with AA in Omaha was nothing but positive. The entire staff was friendly and helpful and my flight was good. I had an on time take-off and arrival. They had great entertainment options inflight. Their snacks could be better, but ohh well, first world problems. I bring my own anyway. I know everyone's experience is different, but more people are apt to give a review based on a bad experience than a good one such as mine. I will just keep that in mind when making a decision based off of these reviews. Happy travels. read more

Well, I'm not likely to give an airline 5 stars but we did have a nice experience on this flight. The staff was helpful and friendly. Everything was on time. Really shocking it all went well. Fingers crossed for future trips to go as well! read more

Don't ask. Let's just say if I was in the eighth circle of Hell and the only way out was an American Airlines flight, I might consider booking it. Short of those circumstances, no. read more

Paid for 1st class seats coming back from block leave, and could not check bags even though we were right at the cutoff. Got a next day flight and did not get reimbursed for the seats whatsoever. First time this has happened on a domestic flight, shouldn't be hard to get a bag on a plane. Other airlines e.g United, Southwest have slapped a sticker on the bag and sent it in the past. read more

My mother & I flew American to visit my sister. We were delayed flying out to Omaha for ELEVEN hours. Lost an entire day of our trip. Upon arrival, my mother's suitcase was beat all to hell & has to be replaced before we can fly back. My new bag was ripped, and the handle is coming off. We tried to change our flight back for a later time to spend more time with family and got told it would be another $200 per person to change those. My mother refused and asked for a full refund, and she was hung up on. The person's name is Sylvester. She called back to try the process again and was given the "correct" number to call to fix the problem. The number she was given was to United Airlines customer service. Beyond the worst customer service and staff experience. I would not post a single star, but it won't allow me to post without one. read more

I will never fly with them again. Unexcusable delays, none our fault. Almost missed my daughters wedding and no accountability. Flew with a different airline and now aa won't refund my baggage fee or pay for an unneeded car. read more

Walk, drive, boat or swim but don't take this airline. In the amount of time I have waited for this 2 hour flight I could have driven most of the way, at the speed limit. It's been one delay after another with no compensation. Just " sorry you had to wait 4 hours cause we broke a door flap and have to wait for contract maintenance to wake up". What!? Check Southwest or Delta first! They have a better record for leaving on time. And definitely taking care of you because of their mess up. This is literally an attendant that broke this and now an entire flight is screwed! At my job if I screwed 75+ ppl I'd be in hot water, here they just overlook it I guess. Read it or don't, just my first hand experience. read more

Terrible customer service. SFO to DFW delayed 9 hrs. 4 hrs in line to rebook and get boarding passes. $12 vouchers to buy a $21 burger. No flight vouchers. Dumped in Dallas after 11 pm to a closed to services airport. Unable to get Mom's walker gateside and had to go back through security after 4:30 am to get it. No vouchers for Dallas. Handicap american citizens disrespected and American Airlines could care less. read more

My biggest concern with this airline is their nut allergy policy. The photo below is their policy and as you can see they just encourage passengers to take the necessary medicine. Which in my case there is nothing i can take prior to boarding a plane for my allergy. I have only flew with them three/four times but if possible I choose Delta or Southwest. Those two companies make my flights "nut free zones" and broadcast to the plane that a passenger has a peanut/nut allergy. When flying I would rather pay more with other companies then jeopardize my health with the possibility of coming in contact with peanuts. Besides their nut allergy policy I just haven't had the best experiences with the flight crew. I might just have the bad luck of having the crew who doesn't want to be at work that day because a lot of time they aren't engaged or happy. read more

Had a good experience with AA. As seats are assigned it's not a mad dash except when they run out of overhead space. I did see them enforce the size of carry on and limit the bags and purses which helps. I mean , come on people just check your bags if you are not packing light!!! During flight they passed out Biscoff cookies instead of pretzels which is super cool. I think we are all crammed in like sardines no matter what airline you take but the seatbelts on this flight were a little longer and not having to suck it in to buckle up! Thank you! Face-masks; I flew from 9am to 4pm on this airline wearing a face-mask with a oneway valved exhaust vent with no issues. Flying back today an attendant at the gate tells me that the same mask is not allowed by this airline. She goes on handing me a mask with no metal forming band over the nose, meaning the exhaust air passes freely both ways through the large openings around my nose. I asked when the policy was enacted and after calling someone she answered, "19 August 2020". My photos are of my original vented mask and what they provided to me to pose as a superior replacement for my ACC approved mask. Vented FaceMask By this reasoning the US military's field protective mask, the M50, is completely inadequate to prevent the spread of a virus pandemic. Anyone who has served in the US Military has seen the way the M50 or M40 mask works. Bad air is filtered by a canister and oneway valves exhaust air directly out of the mask. Logically, if you are sick this allows the release of some airborne droplets in the exhaust air. But if you are not sick it is nothing but clean filtered air exhaled from an uninflected person. Since everyone in a compromised environment would be wearing a mask then the risk of infection would be much reduced. Enter the flimsy cloth mask. A cloth mask does not even have the form fitted nose bridge. This design failure allows the free exchange of air both while inhaling and exhaling, thus offering no protection for the wearer or those who would be exposed to the unfiltered second hand exhaust air, even if the wearer was uninflected. A vented mask would still provide more protection than an ill conceived, none form fitting, cloth mask. A none form fitting cloth mask like the one I was provided by American Airlines as a replacement for my form fitting, active carbon filtered, three cloth layers of filter media (outside layer disposable/replaceable and inside layer washable). So it would seem that if I was wearing my military field protective mask that I would be asked to remove it and in its place use a completely inadequate DIY unapproved and impossible to seal leaking mask. A DIY, cloth mask that apparently the CDC approves of wearing in place of even a military mask proven to stop nuclear, biological, and chemical contamination for the wearer. I guess we are going to ignore the fact that DIY cloth masks, like the one I was provided by American Airlines, leak air in both directions, ultimately protecting no one. read more

Got on the American flight to Dallas with no issues. Pilot gets on the PA and says they are wait on mechanic to sign off on paper work so we can leave and it will be ten minutes. He gets back in PA 20 minutes later and said the mechanic is over at Delta and it will be about 20 more minutes. Our flight was supposed to depart at 12:55pm and now it is 1:50 and still no mechanic. I love how they lie through their teeth and say it will only be 10-20 minutes, but it is really 1 to 1 1/2 hours. I am most likely going to miss my connection in Dallas that I originally had a 2 hour layover. I guess now I will get home after 10pm. Thanks American ... you rock American you need to get your act together are hire people to support your business because you are slowly going in the toilet. Mechanic gets to the plane at 1:55pm to do what ever he does. Pilot gets on the PA at 2:05 and says all is good and he just has to sign off and only a few more minutes. This is the first time I've flown American & it will be my last. Their actions caused a delay that resulted in missing the connecting flight... though the plane was still at the gate & the airline knew our incoming flight was delayed. I've had both United & Southwest let connecting flights know we were en route & provided it was within a few minutes, would hold the plane. Not American. Desk agents are unsympathetic & in some cases, outright rude. The same holds true when calling into customer service. On top of it all, they broke my bag & expect me to pay to park at the airport to drop it off to them for a repair that will take close to a month. Very disappointing, to say the least. read more

Took off at 1:25 pm, tvs weren't working so they rebooted it. Had my attendant light for the past hour asking for headphones. As the one male attendant walked by me I asked him and he ignored me. He came by again and I asked again. He never came by with the headphones. It's 2:55 pm, no one has come to my row or the lady across from me. Worst service ever on a flight. Still no headphones. Very poor service from the moment I got on the plane. So I am flying to my grandma's funeral. I fly from San Luis Obispo to Phoenix which that leg of the flight went very smooth. In Phoenix there was a 50 minute quick layover and by the time my luggage came from under the small plane I basically had to walk straight to my next gate. So I walk up and board the plane. As I am getting on a flight attendant said that I could not carry on my suit jacket that was in a zip up suit bag. I explained that I would put it on and that it was for my grandma's funeral and since American Airlines has lost my luggage before that I needed everything with me. She basically gave major attitude and said there was a place to hang it in the front. Not a single other thing was in there then or at the end when I picked it up. So on to the flight. It was going to be bumpy so they delayed drink service. Not a problem. So when the resume when they get to me I order a water and a Heineken. I go to pay with cash as the first flight was cash only and she states only credit. So I get my card out and hand it to her. She gives me the beer and on doing so tells me to turn down my music. Thus us where I wish she or anyone would have put them in their ears because the volume was so low that I could barely hear it. You see my kids gave me the broken headphones and they are not loud at all. Anyways I start to do it and she says turn it down now which I did. Then she proceeds to start lecturing me about how if she can hear it it is bothering everyone around me. Keep in mind this is over and hour into the flight. So I basically called ge out asking why she is giving me a hard time. That is when she turned into crazy mode asking how many drinks I had had, answer being none. Anyways after she kept running her mouth I simply said Shut Up please and she said she would not serve me, which I was fine with and actually didn't feel like giving the airline any of my money after her comments. So I think it it is over and 20 minutes later she brings me a piece of paper. Still unsure which violation she thinks I broke? read more

On July 19 th at 3:45 am our flight out of Omaha, Nebraska was canceled by American Airlines. No explanation, just canceled. We were rebooked for the next day, July 20 th in the evening. This meant another day in a rental car, another day in a hotel , more kennel stay for our dog at home . All expenses we didn't count on. Plus we have a disabled son who is on medication- thank goodness I brought extra. There were other airlines flying into the area we were going to and that was the only canceled flight that morning. It was not weather related. The other flights, last minute, were very expensive. This leads me to believe the error is on their end but I am paying for it. Absolutely no mention of any kind of compensation was mentioned. This, added to our experience trying to get to Omaha using American Airlines led to this email. Two different days, two very bad experiences. I was attending a family wedding and have a very large family. We were the only ones who had trouble . We were also the only ones who used American Airlines. Bottom line, beware of using American Airlines. read more

Left Omaha with a direct flight on American to Dallas. Not a lot of positive or negative to say, so when it comes to flying, that is pretty good.
