M & C Global Construction - Kitchen Remodel

M & C Global Construction

So, I've never before left a review for a company for giving me a price quote, but what Marcus at M…read more& C Global Construction did was way above and beyond, and I would highly recommend his business to anybody in need of general contracting work. I was looking into getting siding done for my elderly mother's home, which is badly in need of repair, and Marcus not only gave me a quote, but he (1) was incredibly honest about possible damage underneath the siding once the job begins that may need to be addressed to maintain the integrity of the structure of the house (something that the other contractors I got quotes from didn't do), (2) went out of his way to make the right kind of financing available to my mother to accommodate her concerns by adding a new option to his list of financing options by having his company sign up with an additional bank, (3) made adjustments to match competitors' price quotes, (4) took a look at some other areas of my mother's home to help me make assessments about what work to prioritize and (5) overall made it abundantly clear that customer comfort and understanding are important to him. I mean, he answered a ton of questions I had over a period of weeks, and he also instilled in me the importance of addressing certain issues with my mom's house to maintain the home value and not cause or exasperate potential structural issues in the long run, emphasizing that he wanted her to make the best decisions regardless of whether or not we were able to sign a contract with M & C Global at this time. I have nothing but positive things to say about my contact with the owner of this company, and in fact he has left me feeling much more knowledgeable about the work ahead that needs to be done on my mother's home (even beyond the siding issues) and more empowered to get the work done. Marcus told me that he's passionate about advocating for homeownership and helping people maintain their homes. It definitely shows.

I cannot recommend M & C Global Construction highly enough. Marcus was professional, responsive,…read morerespectful and easy to work with in every single interaction we had. The crew was fantastic start to finish and were all the above as well. They did everything possible to minimize disruption and were very nice to have around. Everyone was timely, communication was clear, timeline was exactly as expected and communicated. We are delighted with our project and I don't have a single negative thing to say about the project or M & C Global. You will not regret working with this company for your project.

We've been working with Affordable for a couple of years now. To put it lightly, we have the…read morebasement from hell. When they arrived, we had some water in the basement and they quoted us based on their normal pricing. Once the concrete came up, we couldn't believe what we were dealing with. It's a constant flow of water that required two sump pits and an insane amount of work to install our drainage system. Every time they tried to dig a pit it would backfill with sand and water- they had to dig this up painstakingly- foot by foot. We thought for sure we were in for additional costs, but they stuck by the original estimate. Since then, any time we've had an issue or a question, they are quick to answer. Poor Kelly and Bobby probably recognize our number on the caller ID but whenever we make a call or send an email, we always get a response- usually with a visit on the same day. We highly recommend this company for their honesty, customer service, and quality work.

They answered right away and showed up the next day on short notice and repaired the issue. They were responsive and did a great job. I'll definitely use them again for ANY issue that they can service. The tech traveled a long way and did a great job. Anyone whose ever dealt with ths type of problem knows how stressful the situation can be when water starts pouring into your basement. Thank you Billy and Affordable.

I & everyone else had been assuming that it was either a crack in the foundation or seepage through the cinderblock walls. The '58 agent said it was either my heat pump or my hot water heater. I had these checked for leaks & nothing was found. I then brought in a local contractor to take out the sheet rock to identify a crack in the foundation. He finally found the solution; whoever plumbed the house had installed a check valve to control the flow of wastewater from the house had installed it upside down, causing an overflow. Except for this contractor, the '58 rep actually diagnosed the problem correctly, just not the details.

My review of 58 Foundations on our basement dig-out project…read more Please be advised that 58 Foundations appears to operate in violation of home improvement regulations in the District of Columbia. Their contracts are legally deficient, as they omit both the salesperson's license number and the project commencement date. Furthermore, the District of Columbia Licensing Board (DCLP) was unable to locate a license for our specific salesperson or any other individual at the firm. It seems they don't have a licensed DC salesperson. Following a ten-month delay, the company proposed a change order that would double the initial project cost. This increase is a direct result of the original salesperson's lack of expertise and professional neglect. Additionally, the company proposed a solution that is illegal under DC regulations, and their internal communication remains highly disorganized. Under District of Columbia law, performing home improvement sales without a proper license or executing contracts without commencement dates and salesperson license numbers may entitle clients to a full refund of the contract price, regardless of work completion. I recommend that any parties engaged with this company review their legal standing regarding these practices. Please be cautious if you decide to challenge this company. Their management called and threatened us claiming that we will run out of money before they do.
