We had a horrible experience trying to find a reputable transportation company to transport a 17,000 pound truck from Arizona to Oklahoma that we had just purchased. I signed up on a site to get quotes, did not notice sellers DOT number was still visible, which allowed transport companies to look up dot number and obtain companies name and phone number, transport companies started contacting the seller to arrange pick up, outside of the site I was using to get bids, misleading the seller as if they were the hired transport company. This made the process more stressful, and caused confusion with the seller. Quotes I received on the website ranged from $2600-$3300.00 to transport the truck. Pick up window averaged up to 7 days after transport as booked. Each company that responded, I checked their reviews on BBB/google, their business registration on Secretary of State in the state they were located, and checked the operating status on FMCSA site. I was surprised to see horrible reviews on BBB, and some unprofessional responses from the companies and some brokerages/transport companies had no authorization status on FMCSA I happened to come across Amerifreight on google by accident! I checked BBB (4.8 rating), S.O.S (active/in compliance) and FMCSA (authorized brokerage). I was interested in speaking with them; they had the best history by far on BBB, authority on FMCSA. I called and spoke with Lisa Henderson. She was the most informative agent I spoke with, very upfront about what her company does and what to expect during the process. They only use companies with 4.5 star rating, they vet each company before they are assigned. She reassured me that she would be with me through the entire process, from arranging transport, pick up, and delivery. After I signed up with Amerifreight, with in a couple of hours Lisa had found a transport company, that could pick up the truck the following day (12/6/23) eta arrival 12/7/2023 for $1415.00, requiring a $315 deposit at time of booking, and remainder paid to transport company. Due to shady transport companies bothering the seller, Lisa went a step further and arranged for seller to contact transport company to arrange pick up time to ensure the truck was released to the correct company. After seller made contact with transport company set up pick up time at noon on 12/6/2023. I immediately received an update, the driver reached out and introduced himself. When driver showed up to load the truck he called me to confirm last 6 digits of vin to ensure correct truck was being loaded. I inquired about ETA a couple hours later for following day, attempt to arrange for someone to be at the shop, driver responded promptly eta 1-2pm, would let me know better eta in the morning. First thing the next morning I received an update transport would arrive around 2:00pm, which ended up being the time of arrival. Truck was unloaded quickly, no issues, guy was nice, professional, thorough at the time of drop off. Lisa kept her word and checked in randomly to ensure we had no concerns during transport! I'm very pleased with my experience with Amerifreight and transport company. They worked together, went above and beyond to ensure our experience was great!

We shipped our car from Michigan to Washington State using Ameri-Freight. (***We initially signed up with Rapid Auto Shipping about 2 weeks before and their Rep. Ed Hunt assured us that the price would not increase from what he quoted. He gave that assurance several times leading up to our pickup date. On the day the car was to be picked up Rapid Auto Shipping tried to extort another $400 out of us saying there was a problem with the initial carrier.) We then contacted Ameri-Freight, spoke with Robyn, and our car was on the carrier that same day! The price was great and Robyn's communication skills were excellent! She's a true professional in her field. The car arrived on-time (5 days) and it was a great experience! (Especially after all the stress with other brokers that preceded our hiring Ameri-Freight. Thanks Robyn!!!

AmeriFreight was great! My car shipped from Los Angeles, CA (Culver City) specifically and arrived in Tacoma, Washington in the same condition safe and sound. The truck driver who picked up and delivered my car was a very nice guy from Oregon. Great experience. They were upfront about the cost, the reason for the cost, the entire process and everything. I am glad I went with them and did not have a poor experience. I highly recommend. It's been a week since my move and I felt the need to leave a review, exhausted haha. Happy overall. Cheers. read more

We had a horrible experience with a previous shipping company (starts with the letter P, ends in R), that was extremely unprofessional, calling us in anger stating we wouldn't get our money back, no line of communication at ALL and dealing with them seemed to be a scam and completely uncomfortable. So then, we called AmeriFreight the next day and the rest is history! Total opposite with AmerFreight. First off, they are military friendly, great communication, fast result time, HONEST and made us feel SECURE when making the transactions. They don't take ANY money until they find a carrier and YOU agree, period. Who doesn't like when their hard earned money is respected? Once they make the move, everything is in writing via email so no mistakes and unforeseen EXPENSES that surprises you in the future at pickup. Our operator was very informative and made sure we felt comfortable during the process, after all, we were scarred from the previously mentioned transportation company. We WILL use them again as we travel from different bases and our car needs to be moved. Did I mention that our car was non-operative, and they still didn't make us feel like we were second class to their newer vehicles. Bottom line, 10 letter word, PERFECTION! Take it from a family that was wounded and left for dead by another transportation company. We know perfection when we see it! Salute to AmeriFreight! read more
I am packed up and currently driving across the country to my new home in Montana. I'll stop you right as you're about to say "who moves to Montana??!!" First of all, everyone asks me that. Secondly, that's where this review comes in... WHO does move to Montana?! Me... And apparently not too many other people. Considering I have 2 cars, I really didn't want to make a 1600 mile trek separately. I've heard people ship cars. I didn't know how it worked... But that's where Amerifreight comes in. Jorge was my broker. I called and he answered immediately. I wasn't transferred a bunch of times, which was nice. So... Who moves to Montana? Apparently not too many auto transporters. Jorge was up front with me from the beginning that going Cleveland to Montana isn't exactly a normal path and he might need extra time to get it there. Great! With all the other planning, I didn't really give myself extra time. But guess what? Jorge works magic. He found a transporter 2 days later. Who moves to Montana? My Lexus. As a matter of fact, Lex is already there, happily snoozing in my new boss's garage until we arrive. This was the most painless part of a very long move. There are lots of companies out there... They all cost about the same. So, make sure you go with one that will offer great service and make you feel comfortable. AmeriFreight does all of that. If only they shipped Scottish Terriers too... 1600 miles in a UHaul with Abita Turbodog is another story, for another time. read more

The transport was good, the carrier or the shipper was very good and delivered the car on time. Going through the reviews I realized I have also paid more and fallen to their bait of this could be the best deal at $1470 and blah blah.. The thing is your moves are always in tight schedules/deadline and they'll make money out of the situation, but hey the entire car shipping business is little shady so if you have time hunt for carrier else AmeriFreight did pretty well. read more

I'm going to try to leave a meaningful review without emotion. I call numerous places for bids to have my car shipped from California to Georgia (Military move). I originally chose Amerifreight not only because they had a decent rating, but they did come in at the lowest bid ($933). Went through the "process" of filling out forms, schedules, dates, etc. In the end they said the total would be $1175. Not cool. Bait-and-switch trickery. I asked what happened to the $933 bid. "well, we can't control the carriers, blah blah blah." well, you shouldn't give me a low bid and expect me to stay with your company. I went with Advanced Auto Transport. They quoted and charged me $1045, total. AND they took credit card upfront for the entire cost with no extra fees to do that! The comparison is like buying a used car from "joe" on the lot on the corner and from "the Cadillac" dealer. It's all in the service. read more

I cannot speak to the transport aspect, because I never got that far. I called the beginning of June to have a vehicle picked up beginning of July and delivered cross country by mid July. I was flexible on the dates, so the agent said the economy fare would be best, and gave me a quote, and told me the price may increase, which I understood and was fine with, I thought the price was low anyway. She said I can expect to hear back by the end of June. By the beginning of July, I reached out to her, and she said she didnt have a carrier yet, I asked that she keep me posted. She didn't. I had to keep reaching out to her, there was absolutely no communication on her end, unless I pestered her, and all I got was, "I'm trying". I asked her repeatedly what my options were if she couldnt find a carrier at that price, fully expecting to just have to pay more, which I absolutely would have done. But then she just flat out stopped responding. We called another broker, and they could see our vehicle on the board, and said it was underpriced, and no carrier would pick it up for that. They offered to ship it within a week, at double the price, because it was now last minute. I called Amerifreight over a month in advance to avoid that situation! At the end of the day, we are driving it ourselves, 2600 miles cross country, it will be an adventure. Lemons into Lemonade! Anyway, avoid this company. The other negative reviews about their customer service are spot on. read more

I have a rare car so I was nervous about transporting it. I worked with Toni and she made me feel comfortable using AmeriFreight because they only work with the highest quality carriers. They do all the work for you in terms of finding a carrier. In my case I got two offers to transport my vehicle and I picked the one with the higher rating which in my case had the lower price as well. You do need to be flexible with both the price and timing and understand they are a broker. I would highly recommend using them. read more

When I contacted the company over the phone, I was informed by Samantha Smith that it's door to door pickup and drop off, and my car will be picked up within the available timeframe. The contract didn't allow me to contact another broker beside Amerifreight. Saw positive reviews online, Yelp and BBB, I went with Amerifreight but that was my first biggest mistake. I rent a car for 1 week to ensure my car will be shipped within that window. When it comes to picking up my car, I heard nothing from Amerifreight. Samantha refused to answer my calls. She will periodically reply my emails just to say she still had no driver yet and nothing else. I told her and her associates multiple times that my flight is on Thu, yet, I had no driver by Wed (the day before). When I called the company again on Wed, I was then informed that in order to have my car shipped, I need to pay $1100 more than the original quote and they can't pick up my car until 4-5 days later at a location that's 1.5 hour away. I told them I can't because I am leaving the next day, they asked me to drop off my car at this 1.5 hr away location and gave the key to whoever worked at the gas station that they have no connection and know nothing about. Are they crazy or they think their customers are all stupid? who would give their cars and keys to strangers? I called other brokers trying to have my car shipped within 24 hour but unable due to the short notice. I ended up canceled my flight, bought a $600 ticket for my brother to flight out helping me to drive my car back across country. It costed me thousands more. If they don't have the ability to do their job, they should not be in this business. What a shady business! Consumers beware of positive reviews...Will report them to BBB read more

I did my research, and was very apprehensive about the entire process, since having a car transported across the US is somewhat unique. After looking at a few companies and getting quotes, I went with AmeriFreight. I read some reviews where they mentioned that companies low ball you a quote and when it comes time to getting an actual bid from a carrier company, the quote will be much higher. Now I don't know if that happened organically or intentionally in my case, but this did occur. But at that point, it wasn't THAT much more $ and I wanted to get the process over with. Whitney answered most all of my questions that I had, which was helpful. The actual process of retrieving and delivering the car went smoothly. They really check your car for every little scratch. The car arrived on time or a little ahead of schedule, in good shape. Of course it was dirty but I chose an open carrier. Everything went well and I had no actual problem at any stage. So, yes, I would recommend this company. Just do your research and know what to expect so you're not surprised that these companies are basically middlemen between you and the transportation people/truck companies. read more

This was my first time shipping a vehicle so the process of finding a reliable broker was nerve-racking. After shopping around I decided on Amerifreight due to the number of positive reviews even though they were the hardest to get in contact with. Once our representative Yolanda contacted us, booking was fast and not very difficult to do. The 3 stars comes from the lack of communication after the vehicle was picked up. The day before the scheduled arrival date I contacted Yolanda for an update. Multiple calls and text messages were answered a few hours later but without a direct answer. She told me that she would call the carrier and give me an update but once again I had to call numerous times 6 hours later until she answered. It was then she three-way called with the carrier and I received an estimated time my vehicle would arrive. I was never abrasive or annoyingly checking in every hour for updates but I did expect timely updates when shipping a $70,000 vehicle. The carrier on the other hand was very communicative and my vehicle did arrive with no damage. read more

I preface this by saying that my car was moved safe and sound from coast to coast with no hitches. However this whole experience was somewhat of a confusing whirlwind from the start. AF is basically a "middle man" that connects you to a shipper. On the surface this sounds great but the start is a bit confusing as once you call you get asked 21 questions and before you know are asked for your credit card that locks you into this agreement/brokerage fee. From there you are basically given give or take offers and depending on your time table it might be best not to wait or run the risk of being like me and having a rental for longer than expected. I guess I expected a bit more personal attention all things considered but once they get you a shipper and you agree they basically hand you off and depending on how that shipper is (mine was great) you could have a rocky communication experience. All in all AF worked for me, not at the originally quoted discounted price but rather what everyone else was quoting, and I recommend them but just be warned that "it is what it is". read more

Understand tHat this is a broker. They will charge you hundreds of dollars to contact a carrier on your behalf. I wound up having to pay them over $350 in a brokerage fee, then I paid a carrier $1250 to move my vehicle. Do yourself a favor and just contact the carrier yourself. Ensure they have insurance and good reviews. Had I known this i would have saved $350. Contacting AmeriFreight was a total waste of money. Danielle straight up lied to me on the phone and explained that the carrier was the reason for the inflated price. She also lied about January being a busy time to shop and I wouldn't find a cheaper carrier. She pressured me to accept the first bid. When I spoke to the carrier they explained that they were only charging $1250. That's when I learned that AmeriFreight was charging me over $350 for making one phone call. They also pressured me into the insurance which covers nothing. Danielle will tell you whatever it takes to make a sale. I was very disappointed. I'll never go through this company again. read more

Classic bait and switch! Was quoted $883 as the "going rate" to ship a car from CA to TN. Because AmeriFreight is a broker, I expected them to contract at a higher rate, but not over $400 more! I'd never had a car shipped before and was afraid that I'd get the same treatment from another broker, so I accepted it. The driver they contracted with was good though. Picked up on time and delivered in 2 days! He took lots of pictures when he picked up which helped me with issues the dealership did not tell me about. read more

Overall I was happy with the service. The staff was friendly as was the driver. Got my truck from CA to CT with no issues. My only problem was it came out to much higher than the quote they gave me, almost $1000 more! Which ended up being About the same price as other services I had looked at. It would have been nice to get a more accurate price upfront not a day before the truck had to be picked up read more

PLEASE READ FURTHER I used Ameri-Frieght To find me a Carrier to move a pick up truck from Florida to New York. My one star is not for Ameri-Freight, Melissa Dossett was professional and courteous , and did what she said she would. My issue was with the Carrier which was Greenway transport out of Arizona. The driver, "Abner" Yagudayev was the problem. He Told me to my face as he loaded the truck that it would be there in 2 days which was Friday. He didn't get there until Monday afternoon, and he repeatedly lied along the way as to his arrival time. He lied and told the broker weather was holding him up when in fact he told us he was sitting around waiting for other customers to pay him. Set for A-day and a 1/2 in Baltimore, and another day and a 1/2 in Jersey. If he had told me from the start it may take that long I would have had no problem. Just don't BS me. When I finally did get there he yelled at my elderly parents told them he did not like to do residential deliveries , and that he would never do it again. After yelling at them he had the nerve to demand a tip. Feel free to use ameri- freight, but don't let them sign you up with Greenway. read more

The order process is a little confusing. Initially the order was taken over the phone, then an email came asking to input the order on-line. The orders then got confused, and the pickup location was changed from Seattle Washington to some small town in Minnesota. The Amerifreight representative apologized, cleared up the transportation order, and after several days obtained a quote. He was very polite through the process. Pickup of the car was scheduled for 10am, and took place actually at 8pm. I had to stay home from work to be available all day. Communication about the delay due to a need to change the truck's tires would have been appreciated. Drop-off at the destination was delayed by 5 hours, from 3pm to 8pm. The driver was redirected to an intermediate destination, and communication didn't occur until I called to find out an update from the driver. That said, the driver was polite and nice, and it is a good way to transport a car. You just need to proactively stay in touch and then be flexible. read more

Coast to Coast move: Go AmeriFreight!!! Due to my job change, I had to relocate from Burlington MA to San Jose CA. Moving vehicle from MA to CA was a big challenge so did lots of searching on internet for car transportation companies. And then I came across AmeriFreight based on the excellent reviews that it had acquired. And now I say, it deserves 5 star ratings. I filled up my requirement on their website and got an excellent quote within 24 hrs. And from there on it was just smooth sailing. Vehicle got picked up from Burlington MA on 1/26/2015 afternoon within the 1-5 days of given window and was delivered to me in San Jose CA on 2/4/2015 morning. I gave them the extra couple of days of delay due to the blizzard in MA starting 1/26 afternoon. Graham from AmeriFreight handled my request very efficiently. He was very co-operative and provided me with all the options that I had for smooth and safe vehicle transportation. I had to pay $300 extra to make sure my vehicle pick up happens within 1-5 days (and it does hurt of course to shell out more) as compared to 1-15 days of window that comes with the base package but now when I have my vehicle with me in CA without a scratch on it, it seems worth. And yes, that $300 that I paid here, was of course saved my bucks in Car Rentals for extra days as I received my vehicle on time. Lastly I do want to thank the carrier Aimee Trucking Corp and the driver. They responded my calls each time to track my vehicle. Unfortunate I forgot the name of the Driver but he was an excellent person and human being. He did not ask for a single penny more and accepted the change of delivery address without any complaint and answered my call each time and asked me not to smoke :) read more
If you want to pay an extra $325 for their "help", feel free. I agree with the other poster that referred to them as bait and switch. Let me preface this by telling you a cautionary tale of the time I did my own research and chose a seemingly decent company to ship my car cross country. They told me it would be okay to place items in the trunk as well as on the floor board, so long as it was below the window. Long story short, no company can comptroller the actual drivers and how they conduct themselves. Yes, they could hire better people, but in this industry I feel that it's like trying to pick up a piece of poo on the least dirty side. I digress. That company I used was run by shady dudes who tried to extort more money from me in order to protect my car from being vandalized (what?) or prevent theft. They tried to charge me more than the previously agreed amount... otherwise they weren't going to give me my car. Sooo... Amerifreight, at least the rep I spoke to, is a bully and imo an a-hat. He was pushy and tried to hustle me into signing up for some bs "deal" of over $1400. Oh and he originally said the drivers only take cash. Let me get this right. You want me to not only pay WAY more than anyone else is charging, AND be inconvenienced cause they want to drop off my car five days before I'm even at the new location, AND you think I'm going to carry around $1400 in my wallet? Uhh, no. I ended up selling my car because I kept it in pristine condition and it had low miles. If you have to deal with shippers, I'm sorry. In the end it may be best to drive cross country or sell your car and get a new one when you arrive to your new destination. read more

The good thing about Amerifright is taking your opinion about the offers that were received for moving your car. You can ask them to post your car at a lower price or higher price, it is like you are in control, which is not offered by any other broker. Erica was a great agent in explaining everything to me and modifying the posted price of my car moving as I was suggesting. All information were stated clearly and straight forward. The only reason why I put 4 stars is when it comes to picking up and dropping off the car the time was not very accurate however Erica mentioned that the moving company have a window of 2 days for pick up and drop off. Erica was providing some update about the pickup and drop off but you always need to call the moving company and get the driver's number to be more accurate as the broker agent only call the company and not the driver. For example, the company said that the car will be delivered on Thursday and that what Erica told me, however, the car was dropped off on Saturday. So in a nutshell after making the deal with the broker always contact the driver assigned to your car to get the most reliable information about your shipping. read more

I had a horrible experience with AmeriFreight. I chose them because of their great reviews and low quote, but I found them misleading and unhelpful throughout the entire process. First, the final price was way, way higher than the quote. My original quote was $955, and the final price jumped to $1275. They told me that the original quote could go up, but 33% is a huge change. That was without any of the various add-on's (extra insurance, fees for paying with a credit card, $300 expedite fee that was wrongly applied, etc., etc.). They also kept coming back and increasing the price a little at a time. I was moving across the country, so with the deadline for shipping my car only days away, I felt like I had no other choice but to stick with AmeriFreight at the higher price. Second, both the driver picking up the car and the driver dropping it off were very difficult to work with. They would call last minute and give very small windows to meet. The drop-off driver called at 10 pm wanting to drop off the car before 5 am the next day! Both my wife and I work, so this was extremely difficult to coordinate. The pick-up driver was also very scammy in how he marked pre-existing damages on the car. AmeriFreight is just a brokerage company, but clearly they have low standards for the shipping companies they work with. Finally, my car arrived with damage to the hood. AmeriFreight said the shipping company had to handle the repair, and the shipping company said we had to talk to AmeriFreight. Ultimately AmeriFreight said they had no liability because I hadn't purchased the extra insurance ($$). They left me on my own to figure it out. The only positive things I can say are (1) AmeriFreight was very responsive to phone calls and e-mails and (2) the car arrived very quickly at my destination. Still, I would trade all that in for a more accurate quote and an undamaged car. I would not recommend anyone ship a car with AmeriFreight. read more

This company is a scamming middle man. First of all, they are unnecessary in the process of shipping a car. What they do is advertise your car to all the car shippers out there and take the lowest bid. For their services, you pay a large price, in my case $350.00. The shipper that ended up moving my vehicle told me to contact him/his company directly next time I need to move a car and save that money I paid to these jokesters. The MOST frustrating part of working with Amerifreight was that I purchased the $78.00 AFta plan gap coverage, which is supposed to cover the cost of any damage to your car during transport. To file a claim and receive the benefits of this plan several documents are required (bill of landing and damage report at pick up and drop-off signed by the shipper and owner). When my car was being delivered I asked for these documents and the shipper informed me that these documents DO NOT EXIST!!! Plus, the shippers have to have $1,000,000 in insurance coverage themselves so this plan is completely useless! This is a scam just so Amerifreight can take more of your money. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, CONTACT THE SHIPPERS DIRECTLY. So the cost to ship my car should have been $1425.00, not $1853.00 I had to pay by going through this company. read more

We were quoted out transport at $800 by Lecia and that it would be picked up within 1-7 days. It was about 8 days after that chunk of time that that the car was finally on its way. We called several times within the 1-7 days but our representative was on vacation and our claim had not been handed over to another representative. She then told me on that on the phone that our car had not been posted for pick up, then shortly there after said that it had been - that she was mistaken (which made me really question all contact we had with her in the past) Other than that, she increased our bid without asking permission then finally received a bid that was nearly double the initial quote and that we had to drive over 1 hour to pick up our car. We accepted because we needed the car and this was the only way to get it after being without for so long. Picking up the car over an hour away meant my fiancee driving to accept it, driving back to pick me up, then having to drive the hour back to obtain the car (I just started graduate school and if the car had been put up for bid during the requested time, this would not have been as much of an issue as I would have been out of class.) We were not told that we needed to take photos of the car before pick up for our insurance to cover any damage and we were unable to photos from our friend who was keeping it for pick up. So we paid for insurance that we could not use. The car came 3 days earlier than quoted and the driver was on top of communicating the day of delivery. It arrived dirty (which makes sense as it had been sitting on the side of the road for an extra 2+ weeks at it's departure destination). If I could do it again, I would have flown back and drove the car myself. The driver was great, I received my car in one piece without damage but the customer service from our representative was severely lacking. I would not recommend this company for auto transport in the future. read more

I've never written an online review before, but this was bad. My experience will help first-time shippers. No thanks to Amerifreight, I have my car 1.5 months & thousands of dollars in extra costs later - partially because they failed to deliver, & partially because of their sub-par customer service & communication through the process left me in a total lurch. Based on how I was treated, my experience can't be unique. Like others, I did some research on the process & recognize you are hiring a broker who will find you a spot on a truck, so there are some variables that make exact prices, pickup, and drop-off tricky. But post-Amerifreight's failure, I found a good broker w/ good customer service, able to work with my timing & budget. This process doesn't have to be very hard. I had a move date of Dec. 18. My family (a toddler & infant) and I were flying across the country for our move from Washington, D.C. to Portland, OR. I needed my car on the other side as soon as possible. Driving wasn't an option. I gave Amerifreight an 11 day window my car was available for pickup. I went with Amerifreight because of an Angie's List recommendation & I was frankly sick of wading through online horror stories in reviews for most shippers. I got Graham, who told me he was going to be my point from start to finish through the process w/ Amerifreight. The very first thing he did was basically make it mandatory that I write good reviews online once they shipped my car. It's a stupid company policy to try and "fix" their online reputation. They should offer better service instead. Not cool, but OK. Get my car there, i'll give you an atta boy. The next thing he did was go through a complex set of pricing tiers, & then not really listen to me explain my timing parameters. He sounded weary, like he was sick of customers trying to expedite service for a low price. I explained that I knew I might have to pay more money than the quote, & that I was OK with that - getting my car shipped by my move date was my priority, not the lowest cost. I had to re-explain my timing and price flexibility numerous times, but it doesn't seem he really heard it. As I've read about many other bad brokers, got a lot of "You don't understand how this system works..." And this was our sales discussion! I was just throwing my wallet at them to get my car shipped. I don't think I would have ever heard from Graham again if I hadn't pestered him for an update. Multiple emails & messages not returned. I finally got a call back after a terse "I just need you to call me and acknowledge that my order is still in your system" email with about a week to go. He was defensive & just threw industry jargon at me to end my questioning. Example: I asked if increasing the amount I paid would help, he defensively said "We're at 80% of freight!" Huh? Well, blahblah'ing at me worked & we ended the call and I felt more anxious than before. I believe I had one more similar call about 4 days out from my move, initiated by me. Graham: "There just aren't trucks going that route." No trucks going from Washington, D.C. to Portland, OR? I'm not trying to secure passage to the Alderaan System - just ship a car between two of the largest cities in America! (The inanity of "no trucks" was explained to me by my next broker who found 2 shippers the day I called.) I asked Graham, "Shoot me straight, is this happening or do I need to quickly make alternate arrangements? "80% of freight! We've tried and we're still waiting! Garbledy blah blah!" I just kind of figured Graham would call within 48 hours of the move to let me know whether they could help or not. Getting your car across country for a life move of your family isn't an insignificant detail. Nope. Our flight was Sunday morning at 8am. I called at 2pm the day before, & was told Graham doesn't work on Saturdays. So, my point person from start to finish was totally missing from action on the last, most stressful, most important day - & never told me he'd be out. No one was planning to tell me anything. According to random Amerifreight employee who picked up, there were no trucks going anywhere from the eastern sea board. How is that possible? My one positive; at least they didn't charge me. I needed that money to pay for a month-plus worth of rental cars, help with the arrangements to store my car for a month-plus in Washington, D.C., to travel back to Washington, D.C. and stay for several days just to repeat this process with the next (competent, customer-oriented) shipper. Again, for anyone who made it to the end of this review: you don't have to put up with crappy brokers. If they start asking for reviews up front or make timing/pricing/the guarantee of service unnecessarily confusing during the "sales" conversation, or don't seem to understand what customer service means, just walk away. I went with Auto Shipping Group for my successful ship, but I'm sure there are other decent brokers out there, too. read more

We shipped our Lexus SUV from New York to Utah. The whole process took two weeks, from the first time we spoke with Lecia on the phone, to the time the car was delivered to its destination. The contracted driver had a high rating and all our questions were answered. The rate for shipping was the same as other companies quoted us, but we selected AmeriFreight based on their reviews both by clients and the Better Business Bureau. Thank you AmeriFreight for a job well done. read more

I really appreciated the professionalism of working with Josh from AmeriFreight. He was always available to answer any of my questions. Would definitely recommend working with him. The carrier picked up my car early and delivered it early. That might have inconvenient for some people, but worked perfectly for me. I would definitely use AmeriFreight again, but of course I just wish it was a little cheaper. read more

I initially found Amerifreight after a thorough Google search for transport of our two medium sized cars across country . After an initial inquiry, I was contacted by Ali Miller (of Amerifreight), who was both helpful and extremely consistent in following up in terms of paperwork and making sure that things were moving on schedule once our two cars were picked up. I had to make a change in our initial pickup point (which was originally California but then changed to Arizona), and that change was made quickly and without any issue. Amerifreight arranged pickup and transport through a company called Desert Auto Group. Overall, the pickup, transport, and delivery was quick and on time. I did need to get a hold of the Desert Auto Group at one point to change pickup timing, and when I called, I left a message but no one called me back. I called the next day, and the change was made without any issue. The driver for Desert Auto Group was excellent and very professional. I was amazed watching him back both of our cars off of the carrier...it was like watching a professional stunt car driver! Not a single scratch on either of our cars (that we could tell), considering how far our cars had been transported (open carrier) across country (from Arizona to Florida)! The only issue was how dirty our cars had become during the drive (but that is at no fault of either company); a thorough car wash remedied all the caked on dust/sand without a problem. After pickup, Ali called us again to make sure that both cars had been delivered in a satisfactory manner, and they had been. Although we have not transported our cars before, considering the very competitive pricing and the customer service, I would highly recommend Amerifreight to help with auto transport needs! read more

If I could give a zero Star, I would. Paid to have 2 cars shipped from Houston, TX to Austin, TX. Was given a guaranteed delivery of 5 pm today. At 1:30 I was told it would now cost $430 per vehicle, more than triple what I paid and was quoted. Typical bait and switch. The cars were already picked up by the company and who knows where they are at. I dealt with Connie Vitulli. Never deal with this company. Never. I'll be suing them! read more
I was originally quoted $1090 to transport my vehicle from PA to CA. We waited over 3 weeks to get a carrier. Then, I receive a phone call from Rick Morris at Amerifreight stating that they have a carrier for me, but it's going to cost $400 MORE! That is referred to as "back-ending." You can figure that scam out. Talk about the runaround. I was promised that I had until Friday to make a decision about the carrier. When I phoned on Friday, Rick Morris told me that the carrier left on Tuesday, then claimed he never told me I had until Friday. What? Did he think I actually pulled that out of my backside? Also, I asked Rick to phone my husband to give him the latest information. He never phoned my husband, but claimed he did. My husband had to phone him 3 times! Lied again. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! They are currently under review for fraud with the government for posting false reviews on Better Business Bureau. read more

I am sitting in my home on New Year's Eve with no transport for my car to Florida. My wife and I have airplane reservations on 1/2/2020 to fly to Florida. I contacted AmeiFreight in earlyNovember. All was set. I gave them a seven day spread to pick up the car. I had to call a couple of days ago to find out the status. I was told that they did NOT have a contract for my car yet. The stated that they had a contract but it had to be picked up the day before my call. I asked why they had not called me. Answer: We did not think the date worked for you. They have tried to fix the problem but I just got a Email CANCELLING the contract. Very unprofessional ! I am a senior. Now I will drive the car. My advice. Do not deal with this outfit. read more

I researched online, as I always do first when entering new territory. As a result, I then called AmeriFreight. Lecia assisted me in understanding what would be involved in shipping my car to my Mom in Maine, who needed a car within the next couple weeks. Lecia answered questions honestly about what would be involved, and I was confident in dealing with AmeriFreight. We confirmed some things by email and finished setting things up for her to search for a truck to transport my car. Lecia called me about a day later and had located a driver, but I was not able to get my car to the pickup location that soon. Lecia understood that and said she would keep looking for the next opportunity. Lecia called me again in a couple more days just to keep in touch and confirm she was still looking for a driver for us. Things had changed some at my end, and I told her there was a chance I wouldn't be shipping my car after all if we ended up buying a car for my Mom from someplace nearby to her. I told Lecia maybe she should put my request on hold until we figured things out. Lecia was very understanding and said to let her know when I wanted to reactivate my request. After several days, we determined my car was still going to be the best way of meeting their needs, so I called Lecia, and she picked up right where we left off and began looking again. The very next evening, on behalf of Lecia, George from AmeriFreight, called me with an offer to ship my car the next morning. The pickup and dropoff locations I had given for each end of the shipment would involve some travel for us but I had figured these would be fairly easy to access with a large truck and trailer. George told me right away that the driver's fee was a little more than their initial estimate of shipping costs, so I needed to decide if I wanted to do it or not. I considered the increase and asked if we could negotiate any closer delivery points to the pickup and dropoff locations I had originally chosen. I said I would be willing to pay the extra amount if the driver would pick up my car very close to my home and also deliver right to my Mom's home in Maine, since their current car had gotten very untrustworthy, even for short distances. This would save them and me together, almost 60 miles of driving to meet the truck, plus another driver and vehicle to get each of us to or from those locations. George called the driver, made our offer, and the driver agreed. We had a deal, I signed the contract and sent a scanned copy to George by email, and he provided the contact number of the driver so we could communicate directly as needed. The driver, DR Transport, called me and we arranged for pickup right from my home the next morning by 11AM and delivery right to my Mom's home sometime the following day. WOW. DR Transport's driver and an assistant came at 11am, took pictures and filled out a form noting some minor paint damage on my car (at 15 years old, with over 200,000 miles, it was in good shape for its years, but it wasn't "mint condition") and then they loaded it up on a single vehicle trailer. It was getting individual service all the way to Maine! I rested easy and was confident that AmeriFreight had done their homework and DR Transport would take good care of things. The driver and assistant were super nice guys and comfortable to deal with. They delivered the car to my Mom's home the next day, almost exactly when they had expected to arrive. The car was unloaded and inspected by both parties, payment was made, forms signed and provided to my Mom, and the whole process was finished. I admit that my greatest concerns had to do with letting a car I've trusted for so long be put in the hands of total strangers and go off down the highway. But honestly, by dealing with AmeriFreight, my concerns were alleviated and I rested easy about it. They handled my private information responsibly, put in time searching (TWICE,) located a responsible driver, informed me of everything I would need to do, cautioned me about things I shouldn't do, and didn't just disappear once I had paid my deposit and shipped my car, instead following up after the fact to make sure all was well. And to think, I was seriously thinking of driving all the way to Maine myself and then flying home. I would have lost a few days time and work, probably some sleep, and added another 900 miles on the car, not to mention leaving some family and home responsibilities to others to others during my absence. I give AmeriFreight and DR Transport A+ marks and if I have to ship again, I'll just call AmeriFreight, have them check with DR Transport first, and then just relax and then let them set it up for me. This was WAY easier than I would have thought read more

Ok, So the first thing you need to know is how this business works. There are truckers throughout the US who make regular runs. Depending on how busy they are and the location of your vehicle, THAT ...and only that is what sets your price. There are a ton of brokers who post the opportunity (your request for pickup and delivery). The truckers all scan the same posts and then choose the cars they pickup based on the price you are willing to pay and if it fits their route. One day a truck might go cross country for $1,200, the next week if the same trucker is busy, it might cost you $1,800. The brokers have absolutely no say on what the truckers will take. It is 100% the decision of the trucker. Brokers who offer less prices are just trying to get you locked in and then up the price. If by the unlikely chance there is a truck who is willing to take their lower price, then you possibly would get that rate. That's a dice throw and you don't want to end up with a guy in a pickup truck with a shoddy car trailer hauling your late model luxury car. If not, you will wait as long as it takes for you to get a legit truck to take your offer, or, as they all do, the broker will call you back after a few days and tell you that you have to pay more. So what makes Sam at AmeriFreight better than everyone else?..because she is an honest woman who gave it to me straight from the start. I had plenty of time with this car, so we initially posted the offer relatively cheap. Sam was completely honest with me on how we might get lucky but if we didn't get a quality taker on the price within a few days, we may have to up our offer. Sam was awesome with her communication and was willing to discuss options at any time. After 4 days, we decided to raise our offer slightly. Mind you, she could have come back with a higher number than we ultimately offered and guaranteed her comission but instead she was looking out for my best interest and upped it a little at a time. So after a week we put out a slightly higher number and got a taker within a few days. Mind you, everything is flexible when you are trying to get the best price, so unless you want to pay top dollar, which will pretty much get you your car EXACTLY when you want it, then you have to be flexible. They picked up the car the next day and said the trip from Fresno CA to CT would be around 7 days. Turns out the car was picked up by a local hauler who brought it to Southern CA for the long haul truckers. It sat there for a few days but then a wonderful guy named Steve and his wife picked it up. The dispatcher co-ordinated the pickup and Steve and I talked two days before delivery to schedule an exact pickup location and time. The car ended up taking around 10 days from the initial Fresno, CA pickup point Fairfield, CT drop off, but having good communication made the whole thing go like clockwork. My suggestion is to save yourself a lot of headaches and go with the AmeriFreight company. Be sure to ask for Sam and her team. Tell them you read this review and want the straight story. Then take their advice when they give it to you. FYI, they don't take their commission until your car is scheduled for pickup! Most of the negative reviews in this business are because of the hustle the brokers give you and you always feel like you are being lied to and upsold. This was a great experience. Last, Don't believe any reviews you read other than on Yelp. All of the others are untruthful paid reviews that the companies put up themselves. Check the difference between their reviews and Yelp's and you'll find the truth. And don't pay attention to the cry baby's who don't understand this business and complain about things they didn't ask about or clarify on their own. Jon read more

We moved from Utah to New Hampshire for employment. I was certain that I was not going to drive my family and cars across the country given that I only had a short window between terminating one job and beginning the next. I sought out all methods of having our two cars transported to New Hampshire. Doing web searches, talking with friends and colleagues, I quickly became discouraged. There was no guidance and it seemed that many companies turned out to be frauds. I read that companies were paying to have positive reviews posted, others were fakes and some simply outsourced the job to un-knowledgeable third parties. I became so distraught that I looked into rail transport and other means. However, none of these were available to our destination. I began making calls and receiving quotes from many companies online. I finally stumbled on AmeriFreight via the BBB. I sent them an email and actually received a call from a PERSON, Graham. He was very knowledgeable, honest and friendly. He helped me understand the process of auto transport and clearly explained his role in the process. He made no false promises and I felt that I was speaking to a real, honest person. That, along with the reviews I read, made me contract with AmeriFreight. Graham clearly explained to me the different options for shipping my cars: covered or not, closer pick-up times and protection/insurance options. He worked with me on my tight moving schedule and we agreed on a pick-up window. Well in advance to that window, he found me Green Way LLC Transport, who agreed to move our two cars. I have a small SUV and a passenger car. Green Way was on the spot in communication and professionalism. All along the way, Graham from AmeriFreight kept in touch and ensured that my communication and interaction with Green Way was on target. The day prior to pick up, we actually had to change the pick up location by 30 miles. There was no problem in contacting AmeriFreight and Green Way short notice and they agreed to meet us at a new location. The pick up went smooth, professional and was right on time. Along the transport, we kept in touch with the carrier and with AmeriFreight. No issues. Our cars arrived right on the day promised. We actually were not able to pick up the cars on the delivery day and AmeriFreight and the carrier arranged for our cars to be stored for two more days. For pick-up, we were again accommodated beyond the call of duty, having the storage person come out and meet us to hand over our cars two hours after their closing time. In summary, I am simply amazed by the professionalism, honesty and overall accomplishment of AmeriFreight, and Graham specifically. Our cars were dealt with perfectly, we were accommodated beyond the call of duty and there were absolutely no surprises or issues. There was no damage to the cars, delivery was on time, communication was honest and professional. We were always aware where the cars were, could always get with touch with AmeriFreight and the Carrier, and had absolute peace of mind while our cars were under way. Price was very reasonable and right on par with other quotes. Our final price even included two days of storage after arrival on location. I highly recommend AmeriFreight and only wish it would have been easier to find our about them in the first place. I hope that my review will help convince you of using them for your transport needs. I would be happy to answer any questions. read more

AmeriFreight was recommended by a friend who had good luck with them. This was not my case. They put me in contact with Aztrans, my carrier, and the whole experience has left me with a bad taste in my mouth. AmeriFreight first tried to tell me that the cost of my shipment would be $100 more than the quote that I received online -- something that my friend also experienced. However, after haggling with them (which I would have preferred NOT to do) they agreed to honor the online quote. Regarding shipping, I was originally told that the car would be picked up on a particular date. However, last minute, that date was moved several days earlier. This wasn't horrible, but it was inconvenient. Then the real problems began. I repeatedly told AmeriFeright that I would not arrive at my destination until later that month. They told me that the carrier would keep my car at their lot and that all I had to do was PAY for a cab to go pick it up. I thought this service was supposed to be easy? Door-to-door? Why should I take the time and pay the additional money to pickup my car 15 miles away? Thus, AmeriFreight agreed that the car could be kept at the carrier's lot ("for free" they said, trying to make me feel privileged) until my date of arrival. Unfortunately, the day I arrived at my destination, I soon found that one of the Aztrans drivers was keeping my car at his HOUSE and that the keys to my car were IN his house. This meant that I could not pickup my car even if I wanted to pay for a cab. Further, the driver was out of town for the week and I would therefore not be able to receive my car until his return. Managing without a car for a week meant that I had several additional expenses which I now had to pay for out of pocket. Both AmeriFreight and Aztrans refused any sort of discount given the late delivery, unprofessional treatment, and additional out of pocket expenses. Finally, after filling up my car with gas for the first time since receiving it, I noticed that the gas flap releasing mechanism was broken (the metal inside was bent, was being used to keep the flap attached to the car, and additional pieces of metal inside the flab were broken off entirely). Since I didn't fill up WITHIN 48 hrs of receiving the car, the insurance coverage that I purchased through AmeriFreight is totally worthless. Overall, a bad experience. I would not do it again. Unprofessional all around. Try your luck elsewhere. read more

In the past five years, I've had cars shipped from the East Coast to the West Coast, and from the Pacific Northwest to Southern California. I never had a very bad experience but a few times there were inconvenient delays without good reason, some surly customer service, and none of the service providers ever stood out a being notably superior to the others. When it came time to select a transport company to ship my car across country to my mother, I wanted to be certain I hired a company with a great reputation for delivering upon promises, providing outstanding customer servie and support, and charging reasonable rates with no hidden fees. After a few research sessions, a few conversations with various providers, and soliciting a handful of quotes, I settled upon AmeriFreight, a company with which I had not worked before. From my initial electronic communications and phone calls with Jessica Ferris, I knew I had made the best choice. She is the consummate professional, direct and honest, and always quite courteous. The quote she sent me was accurate and honored throughout. No hidden or surprise charges here. Throughout the whole experience, she called or wrote to update me and check in on me, connected me with the local driver who was also very courteous, and she ensured things revolved around my schedule, not theirs. Jessica and AmeriFreight knew how important this particular shipment was to me because it is a gift for my mother and I wanted it to arrive on time in exactly the condition I shipped it, and equally important I wanted anyone who contacted my Mom to be polite, helpful, and kind. Jessica ensured all those goals were met. My Mom told me this morning that the car arrived exactly as the driver promised and he was very nice to her. I had sent my Mom over a dozen photos of the car taken the day it was picked up, and she said it's in exactly the same condition. The first estimate I got from Jessica was it will be picked up on either May 6 or 7 and arrive 10 days later. It was picked up on May 6 and arrived on May 10. Jessica sent me a note, too, to let me know it had arrived and to ask if everything was okay. Yes, Jessica, it certainly is! Next time I need to ship a car, and every time after that, I will hire AmeriFreight again and that is due in large part to Jessica. Thank you, Jessica, in all sincerity for taking care of something very important to me. YOU ARE TRULY WONDERFUL!!! read more

I needed to ship my 2015 Honda CR-V from Virginia to California by Jan 6, 2016. In the beginning of Nov 2015, Graham gave me an estimated quote of $830. I found this price was much lower than other auto-shipping company, so I paid the deposit $290 and they started to find the driver for me. Until the middle of December, I still haven't heard anything from Graham and I began to worry if they really could get me a driver before Jan 6, 2016. So I called Graham and he promoised that I would be his top priority. He indeed fulfilled his promise and found a driver for me (CAA transport) within one week after I called him. The driver asked $950 for delivery fee, so now the total cost would be $290 + $950 = $1240, which was much higher than the original estimation ($830) from Graham. I was not sure if this "price suddently jumped" was normal in this business or I was being tricked. Frankly speaking, the price of $1240 actually lied in the range from the quote of other auot-shipping companies ($1200 ~ $1300), so I did not see what kind of advantage I would gain if I kept going with AmeriFreight. However, I was in a hurry to get the car shipped so I still accepted their offer. The pick up date was set to be Dec 25, 2015 and they said the car would arrive in California before Jan 6, 2016. However, I told them in the beginning the car had to be delivered after Jan 6, 2016. Otherwise, I could not get my car in person (my flight was Jan 6, 2016). Fortunately, they checked with CAA transport and CAA transport agreed to hold my car and wait for my arival. The CAA transport did deliver my car on time on Jan 7th, 2016 and finally I felt relieved after getting my car. To conclude, I think AmeriFreight did get the job done in time. However, I do have the following suggestions for them. 1. Avoid "the final price suddently jumping so high compared to the original quote" 2. Pay more attention to the customer's requests in the beginning. Do not let the customer to remind you. 3. Keep interacting with the early-booked customers with emails or phone calls to let them know you did not forget them, especially when the pick up date is approaching. I look forward to seeing AmeriFreight becoming a 5-star rating company and shine in the future! read more

TL, DR: AmeriFreight is awesome, and I will use them forever. So here's the thing: I ship cars that I really care about cross-country every three years. I'm not a collector, nor a dealer, nor a broker. I'm a US Army Soldier with a wife and teenaged daughters. Every two-to-three years, my duty station changes, and we have to get our small fleet of vehicles from one state to another. So I have a lot of experience with car shippers, but, unlike a business that does it professionally, I care passionately about the cars I load on the truck. They're not for some buyer at the destination, they are _my_ cars, and I want them to arrive quickly and in great condition, because I and my family will be driving them. They're like old friends to us. AmeriFreight is, hands-down, the best and most professional car shipper I have retained. Their paperwork is simple and self-explanatory, their prices are reasonable, and they do exactly what they say they will do: move your car quickly and safely from origin to destination. What I really, really love about them, though, and what has made me a customer for life, is their ability to communicate with the customer. AmeriFreight kept me informed at every stage of the transaction. Their e-mails arrived promptly, they kept to their communication schedule (if they told me they'd get back to me the next day, they got back to me the next day), they made sure I knew who I was talking to and why when my case was referred from one employee to another, and, miracle of miracles, when I called them, a real human being answered the phone, demonstrated familiarity with my shipment, and ANSWERED MY QUESTIONS. The driver showed up at exactly the right spot, bang on time, and treated my car with respect and care as he unloaded it from the truck. He was scrupulous about the post-shipping inspection, and gave me a receipt without prompting. The entire process went smoothly, and I am extremely satisfied with the result. The next time I ship one of my cars (and there certainly will be a next time, alas), I'm calling AmeriFreight. They're offering me a $50.00 discount to post this review, but I would've done it anyway. With customer service this good, they deserve to prosper. read more

You know how broker's talk your ear off and promise you the world when all you want is a reasonable estimate and whether they will be a good match for your service need? Then I'd recommend calling Sinclair at Amerifreight. I called this company because they were toward the top of the list for long distance car transport. I had the luck of Sinclair picking up when I called. He was friendly and indormative but not overtly so, like those saccharine brokers who coddle you and are sunshine and roses but walk away before the ink has even dried on the contract. We had to ship two cars, but on seperate dates. I explained my situation to him about how the date for shipping my car was flexible but the other vehicle had to be guaranteed on a certain day. He was quick to understand the situation and explained the process from start to finish and once I understood the process, we worked out an arrangement that suited my cars needs and requirements and also took a huge weight off my shoulders. Sinclair went above and beyond to find me the best driver and accommodations I required. After updating me on an offer, I declined and he was intuitive enough to know not to reach out if the offer was not close to my price range. Since we are moving, time is 9f the essence and he did not waste any by calling unnecessarily, and went the extra mile to explain my situation to the driver so they would accommodate my pickup time and date and also got the driver to agree to a lower price. All of this was taken care of and all I had to do was eaign a few documents and have a couple pleasant phone callswith Sinclair. Once he obtained a a reputable driver, she texted me instantly and took things from there. My car arrived on time and in great condition. Sinclair called me occasionally to give me updates on the status of my vehicle, which was very much appreciated,. He calmed me down the first time we spoke and I'm a bit of a control freak so for me to put my trust.in him to handle 95% of the situation, is no easy feat. He was always reassuring when I had questions or concerns. I wish I found him earlier so I didn't have to deal with the stress of pre shipping jitters. Thanks for everything Sinclair, truly. read more

Thank you Jordan, Thank you AmeriFrieght! First, incentive or not to post a review doesn't mean the review has to positive, just honest. I am honestly happy and satisfied with my entire experience working with AmeriFrieght. I had anxiety just thinking about the logistics of getting my car from California to Connecticut. My car is very important to me as it is with most folks. I started surfing the net and became overwhelmed with all the companies that transport vehicles. I asked people I knew to try and get "word of mouth" referrals. Got a few with low BBB ratings. Back to the net. Called around and got some quotes. Some were too low (made me nervous, as it should), some too high. Time was running out for my dead line for my transportation needs. Studied theTransport Review site one last time and decided to call Jordan. Very pleasant to work with. So glad I trust my "gut"! A+ BBB rating. Any negative review was handled. Price was fair. All questions answered. Jordan was very patient, professional and courteous. The gentleman who drove the truck was very nice and professional. Needless to say it was smooth sailing or should I say rolling all the way... They did everything they said they would. The timing, the tracking, the constant communication. I am very happy that I can recommend a good solid transport co. to others. That they will be able to rest assured as I was. read more

We started the car transport process back in May with another company. My dad wanted my son to have my mom's 1993 Mercury Grand Marquis. Dad lived in Pennsylvania, we are in Arizona. Being 82 years young, my dad wanted an honest company who stood behind their work, was on time, and showed up when they said they would show. With that said, we contracted with a company to move the car in June. The car was ready June 23, 2014. The business we first contracted with prided itself for its quick turnover (1-7 days, not the industy standard of 7-14 days). I was thrilled. Our quote was affordable (but as I later learned not competitive), so our car sat. Trying to call the company was fruitless; lots of left messages on answering machines. A total lack of communication and how the car transport business works. Totally unprofessional. My father became increasingly frustrated as well waiting on a driver to pick up the car. So with that, I called another company. They were vey nice, and they explained the car transport system to me. It was refreshing. I decided to network through the BBB (Better Business Bureau). AmeriFreight was right up there on their recommended companies. Right from the start, Ali Miller explained the entire process, apologized for other companies nasty business practices, and told me what I needed to do to have AmeriFreight move my vehicle. She posted my quote, got an interested driver (Thanks BEST and Hector!!), coordinated the car move, and kept me posted on every aspect of that move. I knew when the vehicle would be picked up, what my dad needed to do, and when the car might be delivered. Ali helped me contact the driver and the company, and it all ended up great. The car took 6 days to travel from Pennsylvania to Arizona. The driver Hector could not have been nicer to my dad and I. If you want a great experience with a company who care about how they did and what you thought, give AmeriFreight a call. Thank you, thank you Ali Miller. Our family is so very appreciative. read more

My parents moved back to the US from overseas and they needed their vehicle shipped from western NY to Texas. I have never transported a vehicle before and know absolutely nothing about how the industry works. I, like everyone else, submitted a request to a couple sites and was inundated with quotes, phone calls, and texts that ranged from $600 to $3,000. Without knowing much, I jotted down some numbers and called a couple carriers back in the hopes of learning something. I ended up not trusting anyone I spoke to because info was all over the place. I was more confused than when I started. Then I found the Transport Reviews website. I joined, ran a quick search, and decided to make phone calls to the top 5 rated companies. AmeriFreight came in way under everyone else cost wise. I was very skeptical at first because the rate was so darn low, so I went to their website and was pleasantly surprised at how professional it is. It has loads of good information for the novice such as myself. I took a shot, called and got hooked up with Brett. He was very patient in answering all of my questions and emails. I did go ahead and make those other 4 phone calls. Only one other company was as pleasant to deal with, but their rate was $500 more for the exact same service. So, I booked using the J-tracker feeling rather proud of myself. About 5 days later, Brett called and they already had a carrier. The rate was $200 higher than originally quoted, but I was not surprised as it is spelled out clearly in the confirmation email that rates can be re-negotiated depending on the carrier but they will be confirmed prior to pick up. Having said that, even at the higher rate, AmerFreight was STILL cheaper than anyone else by at least $300!!! The vehicle arrived 8 days later in perfect condition. I would not hesitate to use AmerFreight again. Kudos for being a different breed of auto transporter in what is seemingly a dog pile of mutts. read more

Robin L. Classy company moves classic truck! This was my first experience hiring a shipper to move a vehicle. I was very concerned after reading horror stories on the internet about bad shipping companies. I was most certainly concerned since I was shipping a 1971 Chevy C-10 Pick-up in original condition from the West coast to the East coast. After searching Google for a few weeks I settled on Amerifreight for their quick response to my quote request, price, and positive reviews. Jessica was my contact and she answered all questions and responded promptly via phone and email. In fact even one day I sent an email to Jessica and I received an "out of office" message back. I called the office and they said she was out sick that day, but she still responded to my email within a couple of hours. Now that is dedication! Back to moving the truck, I selected the economy package to save money. Jessica stated it may take 5 to 7 days before the truck would be scheduled to be picked up and the truck was picked up on day 7! Even though the Memorial Day holiday was in the middle, the truck was loaded for delivery as promised. I was very pleasantly surprised, when the truck made its journey successfully from San Diego, California to Newark, Delaware in just 4 days. No damage on the truck. The driver, Nazarius from New Empire Brothers called me called various time to keep me up to date of when he would be delivering the truck. Since he was arriving late night, he gave us options of where and when he could deliver the truck. The truck was pretty dirty, but I expected that because I went with the Open Transport. I found out that Nazarius had to move my truck on the transport during the journey and had to jumpstart it, but he did not charge me extra for that. An all-around great experience... I'd use Amerifreight again. read more

It is very important to understand the system that Amerifreight uses prior to shipping with them. Amerifreight does not ship directly, they are merely a middle man service to link you up with direct shippers. This means that they can't have direct control over the quality or timing of the shipping process. They do, however, attempt to do so by ensuring that all shippers are insured (which is good), as I had one back out because they didn't want to produce those documents. The price you get quoted first will likely not be what you pay in the end, especially if you pick a longer timeframe and cheaper option. You are given a couple of options/timeframes or "packages", and the shippers sort of "bid" on them. They likely know they can get more, so expect to pay $100-400 more than the lowest quote. If you pay the highest rate from the getgo, you can probably get a fast shipment, otherwise if you try to save money it may take time and not be on your most desired schedule. That being said, mine took longer and was more expensive than expected. The shipper did not show up on the first day, and arrived a little later than expected for delivery as well. The car, however, was in good shape (it was a classic car, so this was very important to me), and in the end that is what mattered more than the time to me, in this particular instance. If I needed the car faster it would have been more frustrating. The Amerifreight staff seem great and very helpful and responsive. Just understand that you will pay more than your initial quote, there are VERY HIGH credit card fees in addition to that charge, and that Amerifreight doesn't ship it themselves. In summary, their service feels slightly misleading, but in the end work out-- just at a higher price, in my case about $200+$100 credit card fees. read more

I recently relocated from North Carolina to Pennsylvania, and my new employer was going to pay for the move. However, the local moving company who was contracted with my employer was unwilling to discount the price for shipping my 2002 Hyundai Elantra. That meant I would have to pay out-of-pocket for a portion of the move. After putting a large down payment on a new house in Philly, I didn't have the extra cash on hand to do that. So, after reading numerous laudatory reviews of AmeriFreight online, I spoke to Jessica, who gave me a quote of $495 for economy, open-truck shipping. Jessica also explained that there was an option to allow carriers to bid up to $200 more, if time was of the essence, which it was for me. Within an hour of speaking with Jessica, who was very professional and fully explained what to expect with the bidding & shipping process, we had a carrier bid for $650. That was still very acceptable because it was about HALF as much as the original moving company had quoted me. The carrier was IKA Group LLC, and my contact person was a friendly gentleman named Eldari. Both Jessica and Eldari were consistently available by phone, text, and/or email throughout the shipping process. Because the carrier beat me on the way up to Philly, I had to go meet Eldari in Bensalem, PA (15 miles outside of Philly) to pick up my Hyundai in the "yard." The yard was very dusty and dirty, because of high-traffic tractor trailors using dirt roads and dirt parking lots, but my car started fine and did not appear to be damaged during shipping. In sum, if you want to save hundreds of dollars by avoiding the inflated prices of name-brand, contracted movers, then do what I did...CALL JESSICA at AmeriFreight! Phone Direct: 678-608-0557. I have never shipped a car before so I didn't know what to do. I put a request online for quotes and I was immediately inundated with a barrage of quotes. Ameri-Freight was actually one of the first. I decided to check the top shipping companies by Google and according to the BBB, AmeriFreight was in the top 5. So I called them up. I actually needed to ship out the car fairly quickly as I was going to be taking a new job in California within 10 days. AmeriFreight said the earliest would be the 24th with 7-8 days shipping. So, I figured I'd rent a car for a couple days. Well, after submitting my deposit, a couple hours later I received a call about picking up my car on the 21st and that it would be there on the 26th when I arrived. I met the transporter at the local grocery store parking lot, he loaded the car, and it was in LA when I arrived. I plan to use AmeriFreight again when my wife moves to LA in a month. The one thing I was not expecting was that I would need to pay the auto transporter in cash the day of pickup. I thought I would pay the money to AmeriFreight and then they would pay the auto transporter. Nope. To me, this raised red flags. I don't know if that's because of my upbringing in this generation that just uses credit cards all the time or something else. It would have been nice to have been told this initially before I started the payment process. However, I did some more research after the fact and auto transporters do only take cash or money order as standard practice. My worries were eliminated. I ended up paying with a money order. I arrived in LA, picked up my car after some problems with the auto transporter (they gave me the wrong address), and I am now driving my beautiful Orange Challenger around LA. I will use again. read more

This is a review for AmeriFreight and Erica who works there (order No. 1501708008-JC). First I have to say the whole Auto Transport in general is a very "scummy" industry. Too many rip-off brokers saying they will do something for you and end up just stealing your deposit. And the too many transport companies that say they will be there and either cancel on you or not show up at all without notice. Also, any quote you receive is the least amount you will pay and not the most likely amount you will end of paying. So after reading many reviews I decided to go with AmeriFreight. I got my quote (least amount, which AmeriFreight was upfront about) and we were off and running. Erica and AmeriFreight started doing their thing and after telling her the date parameters (pickup & arrival) I needed to work with the fun started. There were a couple of small missteps along the way which were caused by the transport companies having issues, not AmeriFreight, but finally we were able to get everything done on time and the whole pickup & delivery couldn't have gone more smoothly. Erica updated my file with notes, which any of her other co-workers could inform me about when I called and Erica was unavailable. I appreciated that. I ended up paying about $100 more than my least amount original quote and I'm actually glad I did. I'm guessing I ended up with one of the best, most reliable transport companies in the business getting my car from South Florida to North Georgia in less than 24 hours. I ended up paying 180 (credit card) to AmeriFreight after they had the job scheduled and 455 (cash) to the transport company when they showed up with the car. Thanks Erica and AmeriFreight. read more

Journey of myCamery from San Diego to Portland, OR, overall its good. My Car had to move from San Diego to Portland, OR when I contacted Amerifright, Graham told me the fact that they are a brokerage company for vehicle transportation and they link up actual carrier and me for this movement. I was told that there is a carrier available either next day or the 2days from now and the delivery would require a minimum of 3-4 days for 1600 miles distance. As I need car for 2 more days, but I thought the car would be in portland by the time I reach there I have chosen to get my car picked next days and it will be 3 days by the time in portland to pick my car. The car was picked by CSA Auto carrier at 1AM the next day by Garik (driver) we quickly finished the paper work and he said car will be delivered to me in portland in 3-4 days. I reached portland on third days and took a rental car for 2 days just in case if myCamery is delayed. I was contacted Garik after 3day regarding the delivery time and he said he is stuck with some other car delivery and he will be there in 5-6 hrs on 4th day. And I called him on 5th days again and he said he will be there by afternoon that day and I was hopeful I can return my car as I took it for 2days. However the car was delivered to me in the evening at 10PM on 5th day in good shape. It was dusty due to rain as told by Garik but it was in same shape as it was picked. Though I had to pay for my rental car an extra day of rent. I was glad that car reached me in 5days as it is in same condition. So overall I give them a Good rating for this satisfactory service. read more

Very good experience overall. Ali Miller was great to work with. She was friendly and helpful each time I spoke with her on the phone. It took more than 15 days for her to find a carrier but she contacted me within that time and kept me posted. She changed the pick-up location to a larger city nearby which worked because she found a carrier shortly afterwards. It took approximately three weeks. The cost to transport my truck came to more than the original quote but was within the average cost from other quotes that I had received. The truck had to be driven to a location different from the address it was located at. A little inconvenient as I had to have family members coordinate with the carrier and drive the vehicle to where the carrier wanted to meet since I had already left the area. All-in-all the pickup went well. The carrier delivered the truck in six days which was sooner than I had expected. The truck arrived fine, no damage. The only thing to mention was it had oil on the top and right side of the truck. Not sure if it came from the vehicle above it during transport, but thats what it appeared to look like. It took a little scrubbing but I was able to clean it off and the truck looks fine. I would definitely recommend AmeriFreight to anyone looking to transport a vehicle. Just keep in mind they are a broker and not the company who actually hauls your vehicle, but they do appear to be selective in the carriers they use. I would definitely use them again if I had to transport another vehicle. read more

I got so lucky. I had no idea where to start as this was our first time having a car shipped cross country. I searched the internet and AmeriFreight's name kept popping up as the best company to use. I read the 5 star reviews and decided to try the company. I couldn't have been any luckier picking AmeriFreight. They were incredibly responsive right from the start. They assigned me a personal consultant and he answered every one of my thousand and one questions. He was very patient and thorough. He informed me of the entire process and helped me plan out the move. Even though we were in different time zones, someone was always available to answer my questions. They gave me an official quote (it was very competitive compared to the 3 others I called) and amazingly the final cost was lower than the quote. We ran into trouble since the car was in a gated community both upon pickup and delivery (I didn't think about the truck not being to get in and out of the gate) but they helped us through every aspect of this snafu. The car arrived without a scratch and sooner than we had expected. We are thrilled with the service and professionalism of this company. We will definitely recommend them to our friends and use them again if we ever need them. I highly recommend that you speak to AmeriFreight! Our order number was 1501599105-XH if you need to verify that we are truly customers. The company followed up with us afterwards to make sure all our needs were met. Very impressive! read more

This company is AWFUL. I would never recommend to anyone. I was quoted $1125 for a trip from NH to GA which was far more than the three other carriers I spoke with. I chose to go with another company that charged me $300 less and was nothing but pleasant. When I explained my situation to them they said this company AmeriFreight is known for price gouging and bad business practice. Shocker. When I told AmeriFreight I was going to use a different company they told to me they would be keeping my $225 deposit even though they were not rendering any services. I explained to them that over a month ago I decided against using them and would be going with a less expensive carrier and was confused as to why they had even posted my vehicle when I was contracted with another carrier. The manager never got on the phone and their customer service rep Samantha Smith hung up on me when I said I would be forced to dispute with my bank. Clearly the sales reps make a commission and are not looking out for the customers best interest, just their own pockets. I have NEVER heard of a company keeping such a large deposit when they have done nothing for you, or explained that this is their business practice. I am shocked at the lack of professionalism and their blatant disregard for customer satisfaction. My bank has assured me that this will be taken care of but would have been a heck of a lot easier to have had AmeriFreight do right by me and just refund my deposit in the first place. read more
