DO NOT USE! All the recent reviews are horrible for a reason. AmeriFreight is a broker, not a trucking company. They take 30% up front for supposedly managing the process but they do NOTHING once they get your money. I doubt they even tried to get the best price from the trucking company since they work off commission. The pick-up did not happen at the agreed-upon location. It wasn't even within walking distance. They didn't tell me until AFTER they were supposed to pick up the car that it wouldn't be where we agreed. They were also very late, and I couldn't reach anyone to tell me what was going on. Thankfully I put an AirTag in the car, or I would have absolutely no idea where it was. I could see that it still hadn't left Los Angeles FOUR DAYS LATER even though it was supposed to get to St. Louis in 7 days. I tried to reach someone to find out what was going on, and I finally received a response falsely stating it had left California when I knew it was still there. The drop-off was just as horrible. On the day it was supposed to be delivered, I heard nothing all day despite several attempts to find out what was going on. At the end of the day, they finally responded to tell me the driver had timed out on his hours and couldn't drive anymore that day. That's also when they told me for the first time that the car would not be dropped off at the agreed-upon location but SEVEN MILES AWAY IN A DIFFERENT CITY. I have mixed feelings because AmeriFreight is essentially the "middle man" and my car / items were damanged in transport by the Diesel Auto Express driver. However AmeriFreight still partners with Diesel Auto Express and that's why I'm writing this review. I will say AmeriFreight's agents were always friendly and answered calls quickly. I had my car shipped with Diesel Auto Express this December via AmeriFreight. I was moving cross country and I needed my roof rack and bike rack to be shipped along with my car. The agent from AmeriFreight took photos of my vehicle (with the roof rack and bike rack on) and specifically looked for a driver who would ship my car with the items attached. My car was picked up with both items securely on and the driver (who was very nice) did not say anything about the roof rack needing to be removed. HOWEVER when my car was delivered my roof rack was inside my car (it barely fit.) My $800 Yakima roof rack was cracked and completely taken apart then shoved into my car. I reached out to Diesel Auto Express's insurance company but their deductible has a minimum of $5000 so they told me I would have to file an in-house claim. Of course, Diesel Auto refused to replace my roof rack. All I asked was that they re-imbursement me for a new roof rack. I didn't ask for any compensation for the scratches and damage to the leather seats (which must have occurred when the driver shoved the rack into the car.) They stated that the driver has the discretion to take the rack off--which I can understand however the driver completely broke the roof rack. AmeriFreight Is a Complete Scam -- Stay Far, Far Away Let me save you time, money, and a massive headache: do not, under any circumstances, use AmeriFreight. This company is the definition of incompetence, indifference, and borderline fraud. I shipped two vehicles--one to Texas, the other to Los Angeles--and despite filling out every detail with obsessive accuracy, AmeriFreight managed to screw up both in spectacular fashion. Disaster #1: WRONG CITY They listed the wrong destination for my Texas car--a full three hours off. This meant I had to personally negotiate with the driver to get the car where it was supposed to go which cost me at least an extra $100. This wasn't a minor oversight. This was pure negligence. Their mistake. My problem. Their solution? Silence. Disaster #2: Ghosted Over Pickup The LA car wasn't picked up on time. I called five times, got the same robotic nonsense: "The carrier will call you." No one ever did. I had to track down the carrier myself and arrange my own pickup, over 12 hours late. Again--AmeriFreight was completely useless. Disaster #3: 7-Day Late Delivery, No Updates The car was seven days late. No updates. No calls. No apology. I had to play detective and find the carrier on my own to figure out where the car was. Why even hire a broker if you have to do all the brokering yourself? When confronted with questions about the carrier, AmeriFreight again said "let me work on it" 30 hrs later, no response. Disaster #4: Shady Payment and No Receipt Their payment system is a joke. You pay 20% upfront to AmeriFreight by credit card, then you're forced to pay the rest in cash at delivery--yes, cash, in 2025. It's a system designed for zero accountability. When I asked for a simple cash receipt, I got ghosted. It's been 3 weeks. I've called 15+ times, emailed them detailed requests with "CASH PAYMENT RECEIPT" in bold letters and still, nothing. Either they won't or they can't provide proof of the money I handed over. Final Word: AmeriFreight is not a logistics company--they're a middleman that takes your money, passes you off to random carriers, then vanishes the moment anything goes wrong. They are disorganized, and dangerously unprofessional. They created problems, ignored my calls for help, and left me cleaning up their mess--over and over again. The amount of people that said had a positive experience with Virginia Raynes makes me wonder why my experience was a complete 180. I was looking at shipping my SUV from Oklahoma City to the Denver area since I was moving there and didn't want to drive. I requested a quote and was put in contact with Virginia. I was given my quote and it was a little higher than another quote I got from a different broker (I was looking between multiple brokers). During my initial phone call with Virginia, I had let her know the price she quoted me was very steep. I told her the other prices I was quoted with the other brokers when asked what the estimates were from my other quote. And she had the audacity to say that those quotes "were a sham". She explained that companies like Amerifreight are brokers (which I already knew from a conversation from another broker) and that prices always change even prior to pick up after having a reservation. I explained to her the other brokers I got quotes from were able to guarantee me the price I was quote and that it'll never change. She asked if I had that in writing and I told her yes. I sent it to the email address she used to reach out to me when I had requested a quote. I highlighted the part in the quote where it clearly stated "the price is locked and won't change" just to disprove what she had told me. She refused to acknowledge whether she had received the email I had sent and what I had provided her was a legitimate quote. I have a feeling I caught her in a lie! Even after sending her proof to back up what I had told her, she goes off on multiple tangents and tried using intimidation and other scare tactics to convince me in to thinking that the other brokers I was considering would rip me off in the end and I should choose Amerifreight. The other brokers actually have as good of ratings on Google and BBB as Amerifreight (surprisingly). Virginia said she's working on my reservation now and I told her I did not feel comfortable using Amerifreight after what she had just said to me. She purposefully ignored what I said and went straight to asking me for contact info, credit card etc., to which I immediately hung up. She tried contacting me multiple times to the point I had to block her phone number and email so she could stop spamming me for my business. I'm not sure why or how others had pleasant experiences with Virginia and why mine was a total nightmare. I ended up doing my business with NX LLC. Not only did they guarantee me a firm price, the firm price they guaranteed me with (and the price I already paid for) was MUCH LOWER than the quote I was given for the same shipment with Amerifreight! And the shipper they found for me even picked up and delivered earlier than scheduled. AmeriFreight quoted me $475 with pickup set for June 3. The driver never came -- and no one told me. I wasn't notified until 2 PM the next day that the pickup was missed and a new carrier was booked. What they didn't mention? The new price was $657 -- I found that out after getting the receipt. I had already warned them: no delays were allowed due to storage fees accruing. Instead, I was ignored, misinformed, and left without any say in the cost hike. Then the second driver delayed pickup too, again without notice from AmeriFreight. I requested a supervisor, made it clear I'd be forwarding storage fees, and only then did the broker say he'd "ask the driver about a discount." That was the last time I heard from anyone. On June 6 at 8:55 PM, I got texts from two different drivers trying to pick up my vehicle -- neither knew about the other. I had to sort it out on my own, while at work, because AmeriFreight didn't coordinate anything. Their website claims: "We take care of all the logistics, so you can sit back and relax. This is where the magic happens. We coordinate the timing, ensuring your vehicle is picked up and delivered as smoothly as possible. You don't have to worry about a thing." That is false advertising. I received a quote for $859 and the lowest offer I got was $1,600. Other offers I received were $2,300, and $1,800. Why provide a quote if the best you can do is 2x that? We had a horrible experience trying to find a reputable transportation company to transport a 17,000 pound truck from Arizona to Oklahoma that we had just purchased. I signed up on a site to get quotes, did not notice sellers DOT number was still visible, which allowed transport companies to look up dot number and obtain companies name and phone number, transport companies started contacting the seller to arrange pick up, outside of the site I was using to get bids, misleading the seller as if they were the hired transport company. This made the process more stressful, and caused confusion with the seller. Quotes I received on the website ranged from $2600-$3300.00 to transport the truck. Pick up window averaged up to 7 days after transport as booked. Each company that responded, I checked their reviews on BBB/google, their business registration on Secretary of State in the state they were located, and checked the operating status on FMCSA site. I was surprised to see horrible reviews on BBB, and some unprofessional responses from the companies and some brokerages/transport companies had no authorization status on FMCSA I happened to come across Amerifreight on google by accident! I checked BBB (4.8 rating), S.O.S (active/in compliance) and FMCSA (authorized brokerage). I was interested in speaking with them; they had the best history by far on BBB, authority on FMCSA. I called and spoke with Lisa Henderson. She was the most informative agent I spoke with, very upfront about what her company does and what to expect during the process. They only use companies with 4.5 star rating, they vet each company before they are assigned. She reassured me that she would be with me through the entire process, from arranging transport, pick up, and delivery. After I signed up with Amerifreight, with in a couple of hours Lisa had found a transport company, that could pick up the truck the following day (12/6/23) eta arrival 12/7/2023 for $1415.00, requiring a $315 deposit at time of booking, and remainder paid to transport company. Due to shady transport companies bothering the seller, Lisa went a step further and arranged for seller to contact transport company to arrange pick up time to ensure the truck was released to the correct company. After seller made contact with transport company set up pick up time at noon on 12/6/2023. I immediately received an update, the driver reached out and introduced himself. When driver showed up to load the truck he called me to confirm last 6 digits of vin to ensure correct truck was being loaded. I inquired about ETA a couple hours later for following day, attempt to arrange for someone to be at the shop, driver responded promptly eta 1-2pm, would let me know better eta in the morning. First thing the next morning I received an update transport would arrive around 2:00pm, which ended up being the time of arrival. Truck was unloaded quickly, no issues, guy was nice, professional, thorough at the time of drop off. Lisa kept her word and checked in randomly to ensure we had no concerns during transport! I'm very pleased with my experience with Amerifreight and transport company. They worked together, went above and beyond to ensure our experience was great! read more

When I reviewed the receipt for the service the delivery address had Camden ME but an addr in Portland Me. Amerifreight stated the mix up would be fixed. Unfortunately, I am giving this company and specifically the customer service agent, Jen Sylvester, a 1 star rating. I used this company to ship 2 cars from NJ to CA in 2023 and all went well. Fast forward to May 2025, I decided to use the same company and agent to ship 3 cars from CA back to NJ again expecting another great service. I booked with the company over 7 weeks in advance. Day of the my scheduled pick up, the carrier never contacted me to arrange pick up and never arrived after I attempted to reach out as well. The following day I reached out again to Jen and AmeriFreight and had to leave multiple messages to get any updates. Jen displayed zero urgency to find myself another carrier for 3 cars that needed to be shipped within the next few days. The following day I decided I needed to go with another company so I texted Jen to cancel my order and receive my deposit refund. She then finally texted/emailed/called me multiple times stating she would find me a new carrier. I had to insist multiple times I have no choice but to go with a new carrier and to refund my money. A week later and no refund, no one returns my calls at the main office and Jen has now ignored all my emails asking for an update on my refund. Carrier Name: MATILLDA LLC Carrier Contact: Vasil Sabiashvili. The car was scheduled to be delivered on Saturday afternoon, then Sunday night, then Monday morning. The car was picked up in Ohio and a friend was handling it for me. He said the driver didn't even speak English! The driver's truck broke down half way through the trip. I had to make numerous phone calls and send numerous texts throughout the weekend to get updates. No one was proactive in providing information. Of course, I couldn't contact AmeriFreight because they're closed on the weekends! I left emails and made phone calls to express my frustrations. I will say that they did respond and were apologetic and would let the admin know NOT to use this trucking "company" again! Thankfully, my car finally arrived safely Monday morning. read more

The response submitted from the company is inaccurate. And If Amerifreight was actually concerned about my frustration as they say, I imagine they would have called me directly to discuss. I need to address several issues that have been brought up. First, I was told that AFTA was a separate entity from Amerifreight, but only a few weeks ago. When I called to reach Stephen Coles several times over the last 7 months I was repeatedly told he was unavailable would return my call--he never did. When I asked if there was anyone else I could talk to regarding my AFTA claim, I was told he was the only one handling it with Amerifreight. This confused me, since Stephen Coles has an Amerifreight email address and signature, leading me to believe that AFTA and Amerifreight were, in fact, the same company. To further add to the confusion, the contact number listed on the AFTA portal (where I submitted documentation) rings directly to Amerifreight. Given that I had no other resources or contacts available, I kept reaching out to Amerifreight in hopes of finding a resolution to my claim. I was more than willing to speak with anyone else, and would have been happy to, but was continuously told there was no one else. Regarding the photo evidence, I need to clarify that the response by Amerifreight is completely false. I received my vehicle on 7/14 at 11:17 AM and immediately reported the incident on the AFTA portal at 4:04 PM the same day. Less than 6 hours after receiving my vehicle. I didn't hear back from anyone, so I followed up with Michelle Woods, my Amerifreight contact, asking if she had received the information I submitted and if I had done it correctly. I was essentially looking for guidance on the process, though I understand now that wasn't really her responsibility. Stephen Coles should have contacted me after I filed the incident report which would've saved a lot of time and frustration. On 8/9, I submitted the requested documentation (BOL and photos) to the AFTA portal after Michelle kindly procured and emailed me the necessary documents from the shipping carrier. So to be clear--AFTA had the photos of my vehicle less than a month after the incident, but despite this, I continued to receive no responses to my calls or emails. On 9/16, I emailed Stephen Coles again to follow up, expressing that it had been two months with no resolution and attaching the photos AGAIN. At that point, I had been waiting for over two months and was still getting no answers. On 10/2, Stephen finally responded, stating he had been sending emails through the AFTA website (though I never received any- another issue AFTA needs to sort). He mentioned that I should have already received a claim settlement, but I hadn't. On 10/9, he sent another email saying the team was reviewing my claim and would get back to me within a couple of days--but I still didn't hear anything. This was my first time hearing there was a "team" handling my claim. I was told multiple times that the only one to handle these claims...was Stephen. Then, on 10/28 through the AFTA portal, I received a message saying additional documents were needed. At that point, I was frustrated and asked Stephen directly what documents were still missing, as I had already submitted the BOL and photos on the web portal AND directly to Stephen. I also requested that we set up a phone call to resolve this, but received no response at all. Finally, after more follow-up attempts, Michelle Woods confirmed the settlement document should have already been sent. Stephen responded on 11/15, promising to send the settlement and wrap things up--but again, I heard nothing after that. It wasn't until I submitted a 1-star review on 1/23/25, (2 months later), that I finally heard from Stephen Coles. That was the first time I actually heard his voice in 7 months. Let me be clear, on 1/24 was the 1st time that Stephen CALLED me on the phone. The fact that it took a public review for someone to finally get in touch with me is unacceptable. And the response from Amerifreight that photo evidence wasn't provided is simply inaccurate. I've submitted the necessary documentation and photos multiple times, and it's clear that the lack of communication and follow-through has been the primary issue here. This process could have been handled much more efficiently with better communication, transparency, and a genuine effort to resolve the issue. As a customer I felt ignored and disregarded. I am incredibly disappointed in the way this has been handled, and at this point, I just want it to be over. I never intended to leave a negative review, but after months of getting no answers or resolution, it became clear that was the only way to get any sort of response. And I was correct. There is more I could I say and would be happy to discuss with the business owner, but at this point I will await the refund that Stephen offered and hope it does not take an additional 7 months to process. read more

AmeriFreight damaged our car and cost us thousands of dollars when their truck struck another vehicle at 70 mph also damaging several other cars onboard. AmeriFrieght's driver told us there was no damage and that the car was inspected. This was a lie. The car was not checked by any professional. Our car's suspension was completely destroyed. AmeriFreight has ignored us and has cost us thousands of dollars. We were looking forward to starting in a new city but now we are financially struggling and stressed out because AmeriFreight has put us into debt. Below is the official police report which is public information it shows that AmeriFreight damaged 8 cars as well as 2 semi trucks. The police ranked a "Most Harmful Event" and the driving was so reckless that drug and alcohol tests had to be administered. Will update review to see if AmeriFreight ever reimburses us or not. Not very impressed even though I had high hopes. At first when I called to retrieve my quote of $579 that was obtained online, I was greeted by a nice employee who walked me through the process. I was told that I'd be informed once an available driver was able to transport my car home to me from a different state. It wasn't until the next day that I had finally received confirmation. The lame part now though was that I had to act fast or risk losing the available driver. So I opted in, but now the price had jumped up an additional $200 all of a sudden. I had to pay about $278 up front to book and the remaining $500 upon the arrival of my car. I had no choice, I needed to get my car home, so I paid. Even after the payment, the communication with the driver and his company was very difficult. I tried my best to communicate with the company of my work schedule and to see if I could get a better picture of when to expect the driver. But unfortunately, the team did not speak very much English and so I don't think my words and concerns translated over as expected. I was already at work at 9am and still wasn't given any notice of arrival time except for the notification that it would be today. Then at about 9:30am I receive a text from the driver telling me he would be at my address in about 30 min to an hour. So, I had to ask to leave work to go home to receive my car. It was a very draining process that gave me so much anxiety. I tried getting a partial refund back but was denied. But I never want to transport through Amerifreight again. They got me a hauler for my car to get it from Cal to MD and they were flexible when I needed them to be. The best part is that you know they won't rip you off and they take their status at the Better Business Bureau very seriously. This company is a SCAM. They PREY on folks that are desperate to move their cars. The company will send a lowball quote knowing they have beat all of the competition in pricing hoping you will be the next SUCKER to give an upfront deposit to. Which on the website the business claims no upfront deposit. Kinda ironic. The company will have you sign a contract as well which locked you in from canceling if you want all your money back. 2 days prior to pick up the company will claim "DEAD ROUTE" no drivers available and WANT DOUBLE the CONTRACTED PRICE in order to ship your car. That's an ILLEGAL scam called Bait and Switch. If you refuse the company will then HARASS you trying to get you to agree to the ridiculously higher price outside of your contract claiming you need to pay the driver in cash the difference. The biggest problem with companies like this is honest working folks are under the impression that the company is going to move your car from point A to point B for the contracted price and dates agreed upon. When you call they give you a great quote but beware its a fake quote. When it comes time to actually have your car transported they ask for more money. They claim there is NO DRIVER that will take it for that price. He then will say he will chip in some $ to help...all fake. I can NOT recommend this company. Poor communication and bait and switch tactics. It took 19 days from accepting the estimate with their preferred priority rate ("1-3 days for the vehicle to be picked up") to receive the vehicle from Michigan to California. It took a full week to get a carrier's quote for the vehicle to even be picked up. According to them, "The Priority rate is used when you have less time, about 1-3 days, for your vehicle to be picked up. It is priced at the market rate for similar vehicles on your route." So this was already days longer than they communicated. The cost of the carrier that I was told was already in the area and could pick up the vehicle that same day was considerably more than the original estimate, but I agreed thinking the vehicle would then be picked up that day (Friday) as I was told. Classic bait and switch. The vehicle was never picked up that day. I had made special arrangements for the vehicle to be picked up and had to call AmeriFreight to find out what was going on which became an inconvenience. It took a while to get a response. I was then told that the driver never received the message to pick it up so it was out of their hands. So I would have to wait until after the holiday weekend when the driver would pick up the vehicle on that Tuesday. The vehicle was actually not picked up until that Thursday. The actual vehicle never arrived until the following Monday evening. In fact, AmeriFreight stopped responding to my emails and I had to deal with the driver directly, who stated that he was having truck problems. The vehicle did arrive finally and was in good condition thus the 2-star rating. I really feel that once they had my deposit and the transporter picked up the vehicle they stopped caring about the order. My representative said she would speak to her supervisor about this but she has yet to respond with an answer as I don't feel it's fair that I paid for priority shipping and only received economy service. The service was around $1100 total from MD to CA. Everything was fine until the day before pickup when I was told that I would need to meet the driver at a location 15 mins from my house. It was a grocery store because supposedly my street was too small for the truck to fit. Admittedly, the truck was huge, however, there were plenty of places closer that we could have met. Additionally, this step in the process should have been disclosed way sooner than the day before in order for me to make arrangements. I booked the service weeks out. Lastly, Lisa told me that an Uber would be paid for by the driver for me to get back home because of the inconvenience. Then, the driver predicted that I over packed the car past 100 lbs and gave me an ultimatum of paying $50 for it OR paying for my own uber!! He hadn't even weighed anything but said that he could tell by looking :( All in all, my car arrived a few days early and in good condition. Had Harley shipped from California to Louisiana. Delivered really late at night and bike had paint damage. Next day the company they used said to tell them cost. I got a great deal off 900 to fix damage. That is Harley dealership taking off parts and putting back on bike. This is a Harley Davidson Ultra Glide Classic CVO so paint is not easy to get at all. I have been ghosted by trucking broker and Amerifreight has only emailed the broker to ask him to send bill of lading. Next step is to put a lien against there bond. read more

I do not recommend this place whatsoever. Gave them a months notice to ship cars, when the date was getting closer I began to worry, many calls to them went unanswered with no call back. Donna is useless, maybe time for her to retire cuz shes out of it. I called 3 days before the car was to be shipped as DONNA never followed up with me only to have her text me ALL IN CAPS, with her BS story. 3 days before cars due to ship price increased, almost double. Dont even think of this poorly run place if you are looking to ship your car. I found another place same day that DONNA SHOUTED at me and guess what? They picked up my cars next day. Do not use Amerifreight to transport your vehicle. I shopped and compared every way possible. The actual carrier they contracted was Diesel Auto Express. I took pictures and a video. I turned over a vehichle clean of any damage. I bought the addl damage coverage from Amerifreight. Upon receiving my vehichle, damage was spotted as it was still sitting on the transporter, the driver acknowledged the damage and documented it on the papers. Filed a claim, Amerifreight denied it, the additional coverage policy was denied as there is always a loophole where carriers are involved. The actual carrier denied it also, even though they signed the document and pictures documented the damage. Do not hire either company to transport your vehichle, there are reputable carriers out there, not Amerifreight or Diesel Auto Express. read more

I think it is important to set expectations. AmeriFreight is a broker. This means I paid $315 to AmeriFreight, so some AmeriFreight employee (broker) can use some secret auto transport kayak search engine and book a driver for me. Too bad the public doesn't have access to this search or everyone will make less money. I think AmeriFreight did a good job in explaining the auto transport process. At least the AmeriFreight broker knew what "lbs" stood for vs some other broker companies I talked to. One thing AmeriFreight did not mention is they don't pick up calls or answer emails over the weekend. Also, expect to pay the upper end of the price range. There is no price lock for booking with AmeriFrieght early as I believe they do their kayak search the very last second. Yes, I paid a lot. I should have booked with Move Auto (https://www.yelp.com/biz/moveauto-burlingame?osq=move+auto+transport) AmeriFreight booked some company named, AR TRANSPORT 2019. The only thing I liked about AR Transport 2019 was they got my car from Mississippi to the Bay Area of California in 2.5 days instead of the estimated 5 days. What I really hated was the driver for AR Transport. It is advertised door-to-door, but it isn't at all. After I paid my $315 and got the info for the driver, I found out the driver wanted to meet near the freeway because he kept saying his truck is tall. I was saying I live 2 minutes away from a Toyota dealership. He said he doesn't know the city well. Luckily, I had a good neighbor. We were suppose to meet at 7:30am. The driver got there at 8am. What a waste of my time. Plus, his truck was not tall. There were only 3 Mercedes Sprinter vans on his truck. It wasn't even long like those bigger trucks that transports cars to dealerships. Second, as mentioned above, the driver got there in 2.5 days. The driver told me he was going to call me the night before, but he decided to call me 2 hours before his arrival. So I had to scramble to find someone to help me meet the driver as my original person was not available. And of course the meet point was near the freeway. My friend was okay with driving out there to meet with the transport driver. Lastly, I guess I'm lucky the driver didn't get into any accident as he could not do math. The transport cost me $1350. I said I would zelle him, but because he is a new contact, zelle's limit is $1000 per day. I'm so lucky my my friend could get $350 in cash. Anyways, I had to explain the 5th grader transport driver that $1 (my zelle test) + $999 (zelle) = $1000. And my friend's $350 in cash would give him a total of $1350. He was confused, but I think he eventually understood he had received all his money. I really did not want to spend that time on the phone explaining that as that week United decided to cancel so many flights and I was had one of those flights. read more

Good on the phone customer representative conversant with all details and good with replies to questions and uncertainty. Quoted me a price over the internet that was wildly low (60% of actual), so felt a bit of disappointment over this not accidental discrepancy. Shipping a car more than 1000 miles is no walk in the park and the market is niche, meaning you will be required to use a broker (intermediary) to identify an auto transport company. After reading countless reviews about the process and companies offering this service, I landed on AMERIFREIGHT. Every aspect of the experience was as expected. I worked with Virginia and she was a pleasure: thorough, professional, responsive and knowledgeable. Process: Provide vehicle information (year, make & model), preferred pick up date and the ship to/ship from location. Based on this, you are provided an estimate which does vary depending on time of year. The information is placed on a board for driver companies who place a bid. The bid is sent to AmeriFreight (pick up and delivery dates will vary) and you are permitted to accept or decline the offer. When the quote is provided, a rating for the driver's company is provided and they are insured. Experience: i was quoted approx $900 to ship a vehicle from CA to IL. Ultimately I paid $1500 (May 2021). I received quotes in pairs on two occasion and each were the same price. The difference was the pick up day. Suspect the companies match quotes as opposed to it being true competition. The driver I was paired with was communicative and extremely responsive as well. However, the driver is the reason for deducting a star because the schedule requires extreme flexibility! Wish I wasn't caught by surprise both times it happened and was advised of my options: can you say "no"? Once I accepted the bid, AmeriFreight provided a pick up day, eg Thursday but the driver called Wednesday at 6p requesting to pick up ASAP. He said he'd arrive in 45-60 min but did so at just before midnight. The same scenario occurred at drop off. I was excited to get my car two days early, but it was after all financial institutions close and you must pay the balance, 75% or so in cash which created a few wrinkles. Add to this, the driver stated he was 2.5 hours away but arrived 4.5 hours 7:30 v 9:50p later. The car was as it looked at pick up but a late night pick up and drop off makes it challenging to inspect the car, thus the reason there's a "at night" box on the bill of lading. In sum, plan to pay at least what is quoted but likely more, allow yourself a few days to locate someone and don't be afraid to say no to the first offer if you have time to wait bit. AmeriFreight is better than the others who inundate you with bulk emails and gimmick like calls. read more
