What an amazing group of people and resources from the front desk to the Imaging technician, the Doctors, the Therapist, Dr. Amen's books, and vitamin supplement offerings!! In December of 2018 I sought ways to improve myself and quality of life at the Amen Clinic in Bellevue, WA. I wasn't sure what to expect, and I was somewhat nervous as I had never seen a Psychiatrist before. The speculation and typical consensus about the idea from people I knew leaned heavily toward skepticism and fear! My experience at the Amen Clinic has been quite contrary to all the skepticism and fear. It appears that the Amen Clinic doesn't allow themselves to be directed or dictated to by insurance companies and they seem to be pioneers in their specialty! They are truly consultants who have my best interest in mind! They give thoughtful and caring feedback, offer flexibility in treatment options, an abundance of natural non-pharmacy solutions, and make collaborative efforts with outside specialty's as needed for my optimal outcome. Everyone that I've interacted with at the Bellevue Clinic have been truly amazing people. Ruchika, Amy, and Ashlie at the front reception desk are three of the kindest people you may ever meet. They're professionalism in assisting with paper work prep for insurance claims is outstanding, and they're always so cheerful and friendly with me, and each other! I can't imagine a better way to make a good first impression when people walk in the door at the Amen Clinic! The SPECT Imaging Technician was friendly and professional as well! Obviously, he was experienced in his work, and very gentle with the pre-imaging injections. Certainly a real asset to the Bellevue office! Dr. Suarez is a real gentlemen and genuinely nice guy. He listened to me, thoroughly explained the imaging and associated symptoms, didn't jump to any un-necessary conclusions, and like a consultant, laid out solutions to resolve conditions that would best suite my values and health concerns. He worked hard on my behalf with outside neurological specialties and very quickly put my fears and concerns about Amen Clinic Psychiatrists at ease. He's a fine doctor and would recommend him. Dr. Chapek also is a gentleman, and very helpful resource! I'm so glad the Amen clinic has invested so much in non-pharmacy - Nature path resources. Dr. Chapek is very easy to communicate with, gives his full attention to you during appointments, and never seems rushed. The Amen Clinic in Bellevue does "REAL" health care, and they don't leave many stones unturned. I'm very impressed by their exhaustive assessed my health through blood work, and SPECT Imaging. Valarie is the Patient Outcome Manager and a fantastic Mental Health Counselor / EMDR Therapist. She takes her profession seriously and is very dedicated to staying current within it! Empathy and great understanding are just two of many excellent qualities that are richly implemented in her therapy practices. She is a very kind lady who has gone out of her way to meet me where I am in my season of life to help me achieve my goals! I love the Amen clinics four part treatment criteria involving Biological, Psychological, Social, and Spiritual components. It warms my heart and instills my confidents in the Amen Clinic when I hear Dr. Amen give a TED Talk and emphasize the importance of looking at the part of the body that Psychiatrist treat before prescribing treatment. Not all reviews are created equal, and this is likely the most personal and meaningful one that I will ever compose. In 2016, I incurred a severe TBI while doing a photography shoot on an abandoned building in Berlin. The rooftop I was shooting on collapsed, and I fell through three stories, breaking many bones and causing by brain to bleed in four places. After a month recovering in the hospital in Berlin, I returned to the US and got my first SPECT scan in Atlanta. They told me that my brain was healing, but it would take years for me to make a full recovery. I got the okay to return to my home in Berlin but suffered a horrible year of uncharacteristic depression and difficulties in regulating my emotions. I have had ADD for my entire life, but the TBI exacerbated my condition, severely impacting my ability to accomplish my goals. I continue doing my best to live this life to the fullest with whatever limitations I had, and 2018 I moved to Seattle with my partner in order to learn how to sail and find a bluewater boat aboard which we could live a self-sufficient life cruising the world's seas. Still struggling with the continuing cognitive impacts my TBI had created for me and needing to be at my best in order to live the independent and self-sufficient life I was pursuing, I needed to find a doctor who would not just prescribe me medication but provide me with a functional, whole-body-and-mind, integrative treatment. Enter Ruchi and Dr. Chapek. Seeking the best doctor in the country to address my needs, I called the Amen Clinic's headquarters in Costa Mesa. After explaining my situation, they didn't skip a beat and told me that the best doctor they had in all of their many clinics nationwide was Dr. Kabran Chapek and his impeccable Clinic Director, Ruchi Madan. I am posting this review to let everyone know that they couldn't have done me better by directing me to the Seattle clinic. Ruchi is not only an organization mastermind, but she has been kind, supportive, and enthusiastically helpful at every turn. After completing another SPECT scan, Dr. Chapek went through my results with me with a care and attention I have never experienced from another physician and prescribed me not medications that I would not be able to get abroad, but rather a brain-healthy diet and regimen of daily practices that I could maintain wherever the winds take me. I am elated to report that his his treatment has had a bigger impact on me than I could have ever imagined. It's been almost a year since I brought my daughter to the Amen clinic. She had been doing well in school but failing tests pretty spectacularly and she was growing more and more unhappy/irritable and having more problems with focus and doing homework. She thought she had ADD. After a completely comprehensive blood test, one of the Amen clinicians suspected she might have a previously undiagnosed physical ailment and they were right. SO Amen may have helped her avert infertility-- already worth the price. They also found her to be deficient in iron and vitamin D and just addressing those issues gave her relief. Her SPECT brain scan combined with her conversation with Dr. Seyffert was a revelation. It showed she has PTSD which explained her ADD as a symptom of that. Her SPECT showed her brain to be basically in fight flight most of the time. Not surprising what she's been through in her young life but a total reality check to actually see, on the scans, what she was struggling with. A 'normal' 45 minute psychiatric evaluation would never have discovered the nuances of her total health. Having had a friend go completely manic from psychiatric drugs when it turned out he had thyroid problems (which mimic symptoms of depression), I'm so grateful the Amen clinic are dealing holistically with their patients, starting with comprehensive blood work to make sure there are no underlying physical problems and being available for followup phone sessions with the doctor as my daughter needed (and yes you have to pay for those after the first follow up that's included). I've read anti-Amen stuff that comes up when you google and I don't get it at all. Now people like Arianna Grande and Joe Namath are sharing their SPECT scans and brain health is more and more understood. The Amen clinic have been at the forefront and they have totally altered my daughter's life for the better. Yup it's pricey all at once (I applied for the health credit card). Yes they needed to renovate the lobby. Who cares. We could have spent years trying to figure out everything they sorted in those couple of days. I'm really, deeply grateful. read more

When asked about the worth of my investment in Amen Clinics, as a CEO and patient, my response is to ask how much revenue and quality of life loss is acceptable by NOT investing in one's brain awareness, health and optimization. Six weeks ago I entered The Amen Clinic after 16 years of PTSD, anxiety, insomnia, concussion damage, and growing, suffocating depression. Over that decade and a half, I'd oh-so-nearly given up hope. In the weeks leading to my appointment in Bellevue, I'd often considered suicide. Though I am a 6'2" fanatical weight lifter, I'd never felt so weak. "If four doctors, three counselors, and two pastors haven't made a difference," I reasoned, pulling into the Amen parking lot, "this may be my last chance." The front desk staff put me at ease. Chatting with compassionate Ms. Vinu allowed me to finally, fully, "tell my story." Scan technicians calmed me. Ultimately, Dr. Ernest and I went over my SPECT. And I understood. And I felt normal. If I could give a 20 star review, I would!!! Dr. Chapek and his dedicated team are the most helpful, kind and respectful people I have ever encountered in a business setting. Their accurate diagnosis of myself was amazing. I now have tools and answers to make my life easier and more enjoyable. Their attention to detail was and is evident in all that they do. I have no question left unanswered and their follow through was so thorough that it was remarkable. Each interaction is graced with a smile and their peaceful approach. I found the clinic while I was still in the critical recovery phase of a post concussion (2-years post concussion and I was still struggling). The scans were done, showed exactly where the damage was, I was also shown how my brain is 'wired' which gave me insight into the recovery process for ME. I was recommended a few supplements (and exercises, along with other recovery tools) and got the supplements the very next day. Within a few weeks I noticed HUGE improvements and a few months later was virtually back to my old self. Their targeted (from scans and other tests) treatment recommendations made THE difference in my recovery. I've seen the posts about the sceptics for the Amen clinics, and what I have to say is this. At one point chiropractors where considered unfounded, and treated like frauds and now science can back that up but it took time. The medical community and science isn't in the business of wellness and possibility so of course they are going to be naysayers. We have been working with the Amen Clinic in Bellevue for the past 20 months to deal with my wife's memory issues. She was realizing that she was searching for words, and becoming forgetful. She had dementia in her family. My wife jumped in and went to work. We made the, Amen recommended, changes to life style, diet, fasting, exercise, supplements, etc. that were prescribed to improve memory function. We found that their protocols were in agreement with the latest experts and research in the field. We have since seen and felt improvements, but today, we got to see the pre and, and most resent, post brain scans that don't lie. The improvements were striking! It was a different brain. This is only a mile post along the way but it is rewarding to see that all the effort and research informing the treatment are on target and producing positive results. Dr Seyffert at this clinic is a rare find in that he is a neurologist + psychiatrist + sleep expert and thinks about the whole ecosystem affecting the brain. I went in thinking I had a mild case of PTSD (from child abuse) and undiagnosed ADD as two distinct conditions. The brain scans showed what I really had was a more acute case of PTSD than I was really admitting to myself and that the ADD symptoms I experienced are a side effect of the PTSD drawing my focus away, rather than two distinct conditions. This thorough distinction was important because I did not want to be over medicated on controlled substances like amphetamines, especially with the prescription drug addiction epidemic. Someone with distinct ADD would benefit more from those meds in higher doses whereas the same prescription might put me more at risk, especially with PTSD complicating matters. Very glad to see more science and thoroughness brought to this field. Disappointed that the insurance industry doesn't cover this approach. That needs to change. read more

This clinic was a life saver! 12 years diagnosed at the VA with panic attacks and no relief from anti-depressants. One visit with the wonderful people at this clinic gave me the evidence of brain damage that verified that I am not imagining seizures. Now I can get actual help as seizures is a symptom not the cause. They also gave me an aftercare program to start rebuilding and maintain brain health. The past treatment caused me to deteriorate to a low ability of functioning. Now I have real hope that I don't have to live the rest of my life a shell of the person I was. I can actually have a future. Not enough can be said of the kind and empathetic staff. I was skeptical at first but at the end of my treatment I have to say I got more than my money's worth. These guys are amazing. I came down to thier clinic because Canadian Healthcare is so far behind. I might be biased as a Canadian but they were so accommodating with scheduling and making sure I could make my flight back to Canada. From the receptionist, Amy, to my doctor, Dr. Chapek, they have been attentive and focused on what I needed as human being with my own life. They focused more on the symptoms I wanted to reduce rather than trying to get me on a "Scripted plan" that many other doctors push these days. For example, I have low limbic activity, so my emotions are a but of a roller coaster, which is what I wanted to focus on, so that's what they focused on rather than other aspects of my brain that mainstream society rejects, but I rely on (my ability to hyperfocus). I first went to the Amen Clinic in Bellevue in 2011 after suffering 3 serious rounds of depression. My group of doctors in Vancouver WA were unable to help me. The scans showed very accurate details of my illness and brain injury giving me a correct diagnosis. I'm under the care of Dr Kabran Chapek and am making HUGE progress. His knowledge of nutritional supplements combined with my rx medications has helped me find a balance where I'm feeling better than ever in my 64 years of life. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Chapek in May and waited three months for it -- only to have it abruptly canceled by email just days before, without a single phone call. They claimed I failed to pay a deposit, but at no point during booking or follow-up did anyone tell me a 50% deposit was required. I was only told that full payment was due the night before, which I had arranged. To cancel someone's mental health appointment over your own lack of communication -- with no courtesy call, no flexibility, and not even a name on the email -- is completely unprofessional. It was cold, disrespectful, and felt like they simply didn't care. Mental health clinics should do better. Especially when people are showing up to get real help. read more

My son is a patient at this location and was recently seen by Dr. Chapek we came in initially because of several concussions he's had over the years long story short the staff was amazing, they literally put my nerves at ease and answered all my questions I had regarding this type of treatment. The receptionists were beyond helpful and even walked me thru the steps several times as I have bad memory myself. I went in for a brain scan today not knowing what I was in for, as I received this as a gift . I was pleasantly surprised but the office, Super clean well organized office ! I started the Amen Clinic in Bellevue back in Decemember. I cant praise this place enough!!!! I had a amazing chat about my ADHD and OCD with Dr Robert Nadol. He helped me understand how my brain and body functions in anyway I could understand. He is very sweet and understanding. I wish I would have seen him sooner. The Amen Clinics have saved my life. After seeing brain scans showing very scary information about my brain I found that my house was full of toxins that I am sensitive to, triggering an autoimmune disorder. I am replacing the house, have completely changed how I eat and recreate, and am doing a course of hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatments at the clinic.
