There was a movie the Bride, opening day and was to start with the usual coming attractions at 1:08 pm. At 1:20 pm the theatre had 12-15 people and a blank screen. Various people went to the front and asked why . All came back with different answers. 1 hour later the movie started.IT WAS HORRIBLE. A great theater in the Rochester area. As someone who loves movies and going to the theater, AMC is a great option. I love the reclining seats, even though they are getting a bit older. I am an amc a-list member so I come here often, as membership gives you 3 movies per week. Staff is always helpful and friendly. Theaters are typically clean, though on busier days it can be a struggle to maintain. My only complaint is the woman's bathroom is almost always dirty. read more

Not the most customer friendly experience. If one person buys tickets for your group, they can't share the code with you in anyway and have to come out of the theater to meet you when you arrive. There are no signs outside the different theaters indicating what is showing so if you forget what number theater you need good luck... They ruined a gem. This place is way too stylized for its own good--especially when it's obvious that many of the basics were done on the cheap (the bathrooms are still gross). They've also made buying tickets more complicated if you're walking in. The screens at the bar aren't even touchscreens, which is just frustrating. The recliners are fine, but the built-in trays are awkward and annoying. The food is mid. I really don't like it; the cool indie theater vibe is completely gone. Took my first adventure to this location in December 2023. Overall disappointing visit. Took 3 attempts to get my reclining seat to actually recline. It took flipping my seat upside down and 2 sets of tools and 3 young men to figure it out. Missed the beginning of the movie. Also, the do-it-your self butter station was not for me. I rarely go to the movies anymore. It had probably been a year since I'd been here. But if I do go to a movie, I try to come here. You really can't beat the reclining seats. And it gives you more space than a normal movie seat, too. If you're going to pay for a movie at the theater, it's the only way to go. I also love that they have popcorn that you can put the butter on yourself! If you're going to pay for movie theater popcorn, you ought to be able to drown it in as much butter as you want! :) Strangely enough, I'm going to see Aladdin here, too, at the end of the month. So it's been over a year, and now twice in one month. It's hard to justify the cost of movies anymore because if you wait a month or two, it will be at Red Box for like a $1. I am a member of the A list Stubs program which is a good deal. I pay $23.95 a month and it gives me 3 movies a week to watch. Some weeks I may see 3 and others 1 but as lone as I get to 2 a month I'm good. The other rewards aren't as good as Regals but AMC is only 3-4 miles from my house so it works. They keep the theater clean and have CocaCola products which I like. The food is outrageously priced but it always has been. I buy sometimes but I also bring my own water at times. I have read you're not supposed to bring outside stuff in but I'm the same article it says you can so I'm truly not sure. I liked the pretzel bites with cheese and nachos which have both cheese and salsa. The theaters are not freezing cold either which I enjoy. Most the staff is very friendly and helpful. Other than refreshment prices, which is why the 4 rating, the only other thing I wish is they had larger bathrooms. For some movies it's ok but some evenings with new movies it can be crowded. A cozy movie theater playing all of the major hits you could want to see. I go more frequently now that I cohabitate with a Marvel super fan, and always have a positive experience with the seats, the snacks, and the ticketing. All of the movie theaters are equipped with the cozy recliner seats, and seats are booked prior to arrival. When will Rochester finally catch on the alcohol while movie watching trend? This would enhance things by a great bit as I am not a big movie buff and am usually only going for kicks. Popcorn is important to me and this AMC popcorn tastes basically like all other movie theater popcorn in the history of the world ever! Good for them. The best movie theater here in town (I prefer it to Tinseltown) and a great way to spend some time in the colder months. read more

Seats are not what they used to be, a few too many are torn up, the place doesn't look as clean and fresh as it used to, you can kind of tell the staff is shoestring in size and a lot of the bells and whistles are missing like the digital signs showing what movie is playing next to the theater... and dear god the parking lot is absolutely atrocious. That said? Probably the best theater in Rochester, which is a bummer because it used to be THE best. AMC is to blame though, not the staff. They do a fine job. It pains me to give this AMC 3 stars... it does. But here's the reason I feel I have to: ... the experience once INSIDE your given auditorium/theater screening is delightful. The reclining chairs are super comfy, and being able to pick your seat before getting into the auditorium (I have a Premiere membership and use the app for tickets, etc) makes everything so much easier because you just know where you're going and you can plop down and make yourself comfortable. The extra beauty of the space? Even with your chair recliner fully extended, people can walk between you if they need to get to the bathroom or whatever... and you don't have to move to make space! I also love how I walked into the auditorium and saw people had brought blankets with them from home and they were just making themselves all comfortable for the movie. It's a smaller/intimate theater experience, so you can really just get comfy and wallow. Loved it. BUT... where I'm less than thrilled with AMC Webster 12? The service here feels SO disorganized. Like, the staff needs a lot of training on how to provide a knowledgable/service-oriented theater experience - the concessions and the guest services desks, mainly. My friend and I ordered concessions before the movie, including each having ordered a serving of the sliders. We went to the pickup counter to wait after ordering... and time just kept ticking on and on. The girl who had rung up our order came over after what felt like forever and the first time said "they're coming! Your sliders will be ready in just a couple of minutes." Okay, cool. My friend was getting antsy by this time, because we were a minute away from the start of the movie. Still, we waited... and then a few minutes later, I see the dark-haired girl who seems to be cooking our sliders say to the girl who rung us out "Can you help me open this? I can't get this bag open." She couldn't get the bag of slider buns open. Okay... well... this isn't boding well. Clearly, our sliders still aren't ready. A few minutes AFTER that, and a couple minutes into movie previews, the girl who rung us up comes BACK to the pick-up counter to us and says they needed to get new buns for the sliders and it will be a couple more minutes. My friend is so antsy by this point, so I tell the girl to forget it and ask for a refund. She says we have to go to the Guest Services desk for that. We're already late, so I say to my friend that we'll do it after the movie. Cut to AFTER the movie (Bohemian Rhapsody was SO GOOD) and we head to the Guest Services desk... but nobody is tending to it. There are people already in line, but nobody on the desk. Minutes tick by (again - this is starting to seem familiar) and nobody comes out. My friend and I try getting in the ticket line instead. Finally, a couple minutes after, we see someone wandering near the Guest Services desk... so we get back to that counter. I ask the woman if she can help us, and she dismissively says "A manager is coming" and wanders away. It seems she was planning to collect tickets for the movie showings. Okay, well... back to waiting. FINALLY a manager comes to the desk. He helps the people in front of us (who wanted tickets, but for some reason opted out of just standing in the ticket line), and then it was time for my friend and I to approach the counter. I explained we had ordered sliders before the movie, but they took so long that we had to cancel our order or risk missing the beginning of the movie... but we were told by the girl who had initially rung us out that we could get the cost refunded AT the Guest Services counter. "Oh, they can do that over at concessions", he responds. "We have different systems at the different counters, and I probably could give you a refund from here... but you should really go to the other counter." Are you KIDDING ME? He must have noticed the irritation in my eyes, because he asked the kid with him to take us over to the concession counter directly and process the refund. We wander over and the refund takes like, a minute to process. Simple. I at least appreciate their willingness to give the refund... and once we got a willing person, it was fine. But HOLY COW was that a process to get it done. The lack of communication - or training - for staff between counters was an unpleasant aspect of the entire experience. Had we originally just gotten our refund at the time we canceled our sliders - which was the correct counter to do so anyway - then so much time could have been saved! TL;DR The actual in-theater experience is fantastic - so comfy cozy! The customer service / counter training at this place needs some major work though. Yikes. O_o read more

Went to the movies last night to see Ma, ticket process was fairly easy, attendant was knowledgeable and polite. Theatre itself is nice, love the reclining seats, spacious, and clean, the A/C was on so nice and comfy. Did not order food, but it looked like they had a good offering. I did stop on the way out to use the men's room, was nice & clean, well stocked, and kept up. Parking is easy in and out, overall a good experience, staff were available, knowledgeable, and courteous so will definitely be back if in area & want to catch a movie. read more

I love this theater ever since it was remodeled. The reclining chairs are super comfy! It makes the movie experience so much better. You can also pull the arm rest up. I like being able to buy my tickets in advance on my phone and have my seats reserved. I can simply show up right when the movie starts. The bathrooms need to be cleaned if you are going later in the day or on the weekends. If you are an avid movie theater goer, do yourself a favor and sign up for the AMC stub program, its $15 a year. The benefits include: no convenience charges when buying tickets on Fandango, free upgrades on drinks and popcorn, and free movie tickets after you have spent so much. Another perk is $5 tickets on Tuesdays. Before you had to show up the day of in person to buy them. Now you can buy the tickets before hand which makes life so much easier. There have been times when I've bought tickets and something last minute came up and couldn't make it. The staff have all been really nice and issued me a pair of tickets food for another day. I really enjoy coming here to watch movies. I would highly recommend this theater to everyone. read more

The renovation of this theater complex was completed about two years ago but I never got over here for a movie until this past weekend. The power lazy boy recliners are sweet and the extra room is nice even at the added cost of a movie. I'm sure I would have been snoozing if I put it in full recline but given my glasses prescription I had to be in upright seating position to see the movie so no chance of a nap! One downside was that I had some gift coupons and thus I had to go in person to redeem them - no option to do it on-line or on the phone so I had to make two trips to insure I would have a seat for the movie I had selected a couple nights out... A very nice concept - it is good to have this classier movie experience in town. read more

Heavenly! We heard all the buzz about AMC undergoing renovations and improving by leaps and bounds, so we decided to ditch our usual theater and visit Webster Loews AMC. Hands down, best decision made to today! The seats are amazingly comfy. The assigned seat thing was a little weird but, I get it. This is an upgraded movie-going experience. My hubby was totally pleased and said that this actually made his weekend, which put a smile on my face. Chances are, we will be adding this theater back into our rotation and probably venturing here more frequently. Two years ago when I wrote my review, this same theater looked like it was stuck back in time, but now it is eons ahead of the rest. This is an absolute must see for all movie buffs! read more

I fell asleep watching "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" here. Was it because the movie sucked? No, though I feel it wasn't the best Marvel movie at the time. It was because I had a long day, and my feet was up in the most comfortable seats you can sit on at a public theater. I can't remember when my friends told me the hype of this theater, but since I first experienced this place, it's always my go-to for new movies. It's nice that the local cinemas are adapting to the assigned, spacious, reclining leather seats as well as digital projection... but none of them really are on AMC Webster's level yet. When you're at this place, you get right amount of personal space in all directions to enjoy your movie. Unfortunately, I can't say the structure of the seats and armrests are "cuddle friendly." Sorry lovebirds! It is a little pricier than other theaters, but you definitely get what you pay for. IMAX 3D is my guilty pleasure, along with a large White Cherry Icee. I'm not even joking when I say that this theater has taken movie watching to the next level. The recliner seats are literally the most insanely comfortable chairs for watching a movie. Don't be like me and think you just push the seat back to recline, these bad boys are electric. The button is on the arm of the chair by the cup holder. It will recline until you're practically laying down, adjust to your liking. I honestly don't think I can go anywhere else to watch a movie. Not even my living room is this comfortable. I didn't want to get up. I sat there until the bitter end of the credits. Oh, Pat Garrett was the key grip. Oh, and who styled Ms. Bullock? So glad I know that now. I'm not sure if there's a bad seat in the theater. You have a killer view from anywhere. Be aware that you should get your tix early if you're seeing the latest blockbuster as there are fewer seats than other theaters. Obviously for extra leg room. Also, they have french fries. I've literally found heaven. I didn't get them because we just came from dinner, but I did think about it... Minor faults: Most of the staff seemed like weiners. They're all around 16 anyway so whatever, but no one smiled, said enjoy your movie, just glared with their glazed over eyes. I have not been to a more comfortable movie theater. This theater was apparently very disheveled and people stopped going until they had a recent renovation. Now it's the theater everyone wants to go to. Electric reclining red leather chairs which are huge. No one in your space. Each set of two chairs have an arm rest in between which can be pulled back up if that's your thing. All the seats have a great viewing angle. Small theaters with limited seating due to the recliners as compared to other theaters (I think 50 to 80 seats per screen). Always clean. Screens are the perfect size and clear. Sound is very decent. It's the theater everyone wants to go to now so new movies get sold out fast specially on weekends. It has reserved seating so if you buy online you can select the seat you want and not worry about getting to the theater an hour early. If you are an AMC stubs member the online convenience few will be waived as well. Movie prices are amazingly $10 for weekends and night shows and cheaper for earlier shows ($5 or $7.5). With seats like these I was expecting a higher price. Kudos for keeping it affordable. Concessions are as expensive as any other theater. But I like their self serve butter, soda and ICEE machines. New machines with a ton of drink options. Free refills too. The staff is mostly helpful and courteous. Restrooms are decent. I recently joined AMC stubs just because this is the only theater I go to anymore. I'm not sure if I like this $12 a year rewards program yet or not. Time will tell. Don't see my self going anywhere else to watch a movie anymore (except of course Cinemark movies 10 for $2 movies for the ones I've missed or don't care to spend $10 for). This movie theater blows my mind. It feels more like some billionaire's personal showing room than a public theater. Each theater only sits approximately 60 people, so it feels very cozy. Because of the arrangement of seats, there really isn't a bad seat in the house. The other thing special about this cinema is the seating. I am not sure if AMC is doing this at other venues, but at this Webster location they have installed electric La-Z-Boy-esque reclining seats. They are AMAZING! I kind of wish I had these loveseats at home. With the push of a button, the legs come up and the back reclines. I compare it to the feeling you get when you're unexpectedly upgraded to business or first-class while flying. Oh the luxury... The bad thing is that you grow accustomed to this "luxury" and you don't want to watch movies anywhere else. I find myself in such a predicament. Another good thing is that the ticket prices don't seem to be affected by such nice seating. There's no ticket inflation, but like any other cinema, the food and drinks are of course still overpriced. At least you can mix your own sodas using those snazzy self-serve machines. It's my favorite commercial movie theater in town, so if you haven't been here yet, you should definitely check it out. Also if you happen to be taking a lady/guy friend, the loveseats are pretty functional. I'll leave it at that. Another thing is that they have recently implemented reserved seating, so that people can pick their seats out ahead of time, if they buy online or show-up early. I know some people don't like this concept, but i'm actually a fan. No drama with saving seats, everyone has their assigned seat. read more

My husband and I went here to see "This is The End" and were BLOWN AWAY but the new remodel!!!!!! The last time we went to this theater was for my birthday Dec 2012... Seats used to be AWFUL, possibly the worst theater around. Now I'd say it is the BEST theater. The power-reclining, red leather seats are AMAZING! And ticket prices went from nearly $10 with the old theater to now $7.50! Matinees are $5! Due to the awesome seats, each theater holds fewer people so be sure to get there early to make sure your show isn't sold out. A little disappointed that people sat in the Handicap seating, despite not being disabled. The bathrooms were also TRASHED! It's a shame that with the beautiful new surroundings people felt the need to be slobs. I felt bad dropping a piece of popcorn on the floor. Will definitely be back though!!!!! read more

You also get free size upgrades! Tip - with a large group - get the large popcorn and cardboard trays. Empty the bag and get your free refill before the movie starts. If you are a BJs member (or you know one), but the AMC gift cards there and load them into your account. It will save you a few dollars. Also check the early movie times for discounts! They have the coke machines in the lobby where you can pick from a gazillion different flavors! And a self serve butter dispenser, which can be totally dangerous! One negative thing is they need more sound insulation between theaters as the sound from one movie does carry over into the next. read more

Well this place is nothing short of an adventure. When you walk in to buy a ticket you get to pick your own seat which is pretty sweet because you know what you're getting (not that there's a bad seat but it's bonus gratification of your excellent choice to visit this theater). The popcorn is decent but the icing on the cake is the ability to pour your own butter, if you're into that sort of thing. The drink options are endless also. The best part about this theater is the actual seats. It doesn't matter how horrendous the movie is, you're not moving because, dammit, you're comfortable and no movie is going to ruin this moment for you. And if you want to get a little shut eye do your thing, but do not snore or you will have some grumpy neighbors. I highly recommend AMC. Great customer service and spectacular seating. read more

Yesterday's experience was not quite good at AMC Webster. We went to AUD 4 and the movie, Steel Magnolias 30th Anniversary (1989) presented by TCM, should start at 7pm. However, the movie started until 7:20pm. No one told us why the movie was delayed. When the movie did start around 7:20pm, it was in the middle of the movie. Are you kidding me? Also since it's Tuesday movie, and as AMC Stub Premier Member, i can get one ticket for free if I buy 2 tickets. However, since it is fathom event, it will charge me 2 tickets even though it's Tuesday movie. I feel the money I spent was not worth it because it was such a bad experience. We were really looking forward to the movie, but because the movie started very late and movie started in the middle of the show, we were really disappointed!! read more

Wow! Movie theaters have come a long way- both in comfort and style. With the new luxury seats, reservation format and updated features comes with at a price though- without a discount ticket, Groupon or other ticket/food deal it can leave a night out to a movie with a big dent in ones pocket.
