After hearing so many people rave about the renovated AMC Loews theatre in Webster I had to check it out for myself. The biggest plus is seating: electronic reclining leather seats with armrests and cup holders! Because of this the number of seats in each theatre are limited and people can actually reserve which seat they want to sit in! They are very comfortable and a perk that I have never experienced in any other movie theatre ever. The entire establishment appeared to be very clean, including the bathrooms (with toilet paper that was actually not transparently thin). And finally the concessions- another area that this theatre is unlike most others that I have been to. As usual the prices are highly inflated, but they do post the caloric intakes along with the prices, something that I was surprised and pleased to see. The popcorn was nothing to rave about, and the butter is self-serve which can be a plus but I was not a fan of as you can only put butter on the top of your popcorn and would have to keep returning to the station if you wanted to have butter on the rest of your order. The drinks are self-serve as well; customers are given a cup and can fill it with their choice of Coke products similar to what many fast-food restaurants do. I did not like the fact that there are no water fountains in this theatre. Again, it all comes back to the electronic reclining leather seats which are the biggest selling point here; they are nicer than the ones at Pittsford Plaza Cinema or Tinseltown. Also, since I see 3-4 films a month I love the AMC Stubs rewards program which allows me to upgrade popcorn/soda purchases at no charge and to buy tickets online without paying a service fee! Wow! Movie theaters have come a long way- both in comfort and style. With the new luxury seats, reservation format and updated features comes with at a price though- without a discount ticket, Groupon or other ticket/food deal it can leave a night out to a movie with a big dent in ones pocket. Our favorite theatre! We drive well out of way to come here. The red leather recliner seats are awesome. The popcorn is good; you can put your own added butter on it so you can control how little or lot you would like. They have Coke Freestyle which is great. Yes - the concessions and movie tickets are costly but they are everywhere pretty much with first run movies. We don't go to movies that often and this is def worth spending our money on. The AMC rewards plan is great - it waives the fandango service fees and gives you small discounts on the concessions. If you spend 100.00 you get 10.00 back to spend on whatever and it pays for itself over the year. read more

Great place to go see a movie and you will always know where to sit with picking your seat ahead of time! Food is a bit expensive but still gooood. My wife is always getting the pretzels. Other then fixing a squeaky door to theatre 5 it is a great place to go to a movie. read more

AMC use to be my favorite theater but they have gotten rid of the matinees during the week. The Tuesday amc stubs day is now shortened till late afternoon. I use to take my elderly father to these but now we goto to Tinseltown. I hope they bring them back since webster is a more local theater. If you're going to visit a chain movie theatre, this is the place to go! Nice open layout when you walk in, the tickets and the snacks are on opposite sides of the entryway to avoid crowding. I've never gotten stuck in an insane line here, even on premiere nights. The reclining seats are, of course, the best thing about the theatre. If you're a fan of the big franchise movies that won't be ending anytime soon, like Marvel and Star Wars, there's no better way to catch the premiere than in a recliner with a big tub of popcorn! read more

This theater is great for comfort and being clean. However, when you want to plan ahead they are no good. I want to see a movie next week on Thursday - they state they will not have the show times announced until the Wednesday before. So if you want to plan an evening you have to wait until the day before to do that. Since customer's cannot know the show times more than 24 hours before the screening - I wonder how many just go elsewhere. Honestly - this is what we are doing - Imax has the same show and I can look at times today for next week rather than waiting so they will get my business. Such a same too - AMC is very close, has comfortable seats, and you can reserve your seat to avoid having to get there early ... but if I cannot know the times until 24 hours in advance it just does not work. read more

I was raised in Webster, NY, and have gone to Loews many a time. For a while there, I would drive 20 min out of my way to go to ANY other theater but the Webster Loews. The seats were old and falling apart (not uncommon to get a spring poking into your behind), and the floor was sticky. The transformation this theater has undergone is almost beyond words. Incredible is just not strong enough a descriptor. I now LOVE this theater, and refuse to see a movie anywhere else. Loews has decided to install reclining theater seats. BRILLIANT! Now you can relax as comfortably as you would in your own home. But, what is really astonishing, is that the theater decided to forgo quantity for quality. You aren't jammed into the theater at all. In fact, you can fully recline in your seat and other patrons still have enough space to walk in front of you. Gone are the days of rolling your eyes as the guy in the middle of the aisle asked you to scoot sideways or stand up so they could get through to go to the bathroom. I love it. Another great feature you should take advantage of is ordering tickets ahead of time. Why didn't theaters think of this sooner! There is nothing more disappointing that looking forward to a movie release, buying your ticket, and discovering you have to sit in the front row to the side - craning your neck is painful! Now on Fandango, you can order seats ahead of time, and pick the actual seat your want to sit in. Technology at it's finest. If you haven't gone yet....what are you waiting for?!? read more

I grew up going to this theater and just went to see a movie the other day for the first time since the renovations. Believe me when I say the renovations are amazing! You get a large reclining seat to yourself. There is plenty of room between the rows so no one has to move to get around others and you can have plenty of armrest space to yourself. No more fighting! Easily my go to place to watch any new movie I want to see. People might say that movie theaters are dull and drab but they clearly have never been to Webster's AMC theater. It changes the game when it comes to watching movies. Let's start with the most important feature - the seats. Not only do they recline (with an electrical push button) and are insanely comfortable, you can also reserve them. You know what this means? Not having to fight for those seats at the last minute or finding groups of odd numbers (the dreaded 3-seater when you have four people in a group). And every seat in the house provides an amazing experience. You'll never find a bad seat. For those who don't buy their tickets in advance to reserve seating, don't fret. You still have the ability to show up and buy tickets on a whim. Just beware that you might have trouble finding a seat for those hit movies. Whenever I *NEED* to see a movie, I make sure it's done right and that will ALWAYS include AMC Webster. read more

My first time here and the seats are crazy lol and I love the spacing of the aisles! Went with friends and my general rule is to find a quiet row away from them and enjoy the movie conversation free. But this seating made it easy to lower myself out of the conversation zone. Yeah, yeah I know you are supposed to enjoy time with your friends but isn't that what texting is for? LoL. I have been here a few times now and I love it each time. I have been to plenty of theaters but none have been as good as this. You have to pick out your seats, which I love the thought of because then I know I can sit where I want and I can tell if the movie is going to be packed. I highly suggest you purchase your tickets online before hand and then when you get to the theater, you can go to a kiosk and pick up your tickets. That makes it quicker to get through the line and into the movie itself and I also suggest is because this place is super popular and always packed now that the upgrades are finished. The lobby can be a little cleaner, but this place is always hustling and bustling so I imagine that it is difficult to keep up with some of the traffic. The theater itself is always nice and the seats are great. I love being able to put the arm rest up and lean back the chairs and snuggle up to my husband while watching a movie. The prices are normal and really great compared to what you are getting but just like every other movie theater, the food and drink prices are outrageous. I suggest wearing a baggy coat or bringing a big purse so you can hid your own snacks and drinks. I will continue to come here but those times that I would like to see a movie and theaters and I would suggest trying it out if you haven't so you came enjoy the comfort. read more

Once you go reclining on a giant lazy-boy while watching the hobbitses and the initiates, you never go BACK! Gone are the days where you search for 4 open seats on opening night of your favorite movie. Gone are the days where you curse that effing jolly green giant that decided to sit in front of you whilst wearing his stupid giant baseball cap. GONE are the days where you want to slap the living annoying loaded diaper off that ill-mannered brat kicking the back of your seat. And lawd, GONE are the days you want to slap the $#!t out of that kid's mother and father...and their stupid iphones whatever number they were using when they should have been raising their stupid snot nose thing. The easiest and smoothest process since I Can't Believe It's Not Butter. You can select your tickets online or at the the ticket kiosk. You can still purchase tickets on sites like Fandango, but I suggest you sign up for their AMC Stubs card to earn points and have your fees waived. The biggest incentive for me is picking your seats at the time of purchase. No guess work and no surprises. The prices are still comparable to other theaters. Tell your friends...if they don't suck. If they have arseholes for children, send 'em to regal 16 and 18. I'm just saying what everyone is thinking. The only suggestion to add to this fabulous face lift is wine and beer service...srsly that's all. read more

The seating is great as are the movie selections however the lobby is dirty especially the area near soda machine. Soda was spilled all over the floor, puddling and sticky and the four workers nearby just stood around talking and did not seem phased. It did not leave a good impression. All of that said even though I live 20 minutes away I still love these seats above any other theatre. I will return. read more

Huzzah!!! This place is epic! The electronic reclining chairs with...ready for it?? Cup holders! The theater was clean, the chairs were beyond comfy! I love my experience here! The only suggestion I would make is to bring a throw blanket or something because the theater was a little chilly. On the outside of the theaters they have screens that tell you what's playing. And when the movies done it tells you that people are exiting, now the theater is being cleaned and then it notifies you that it's seating time. I thought that was pretty nifty. I recommend buying your ticket in advance and not waiting till you get there to buy it. The seats for the movie fill up FAST and you have to pick your seats. You don't wanna get stuck way too far back or too far front. The only complaint I have, which is why I gave 4 and not 5 stars was the front lobby was kind of a disaster when it came to lines. When you first walk in, especially for your first time ever, it's a little difficult to tell what lines are for what and who's just standing around the lobby and not in line. Over all, this is the best movie theater I've ever been to. And I will be back!! read more

In actuality I'd give this movie 3 and a half stars, but only because of the cons I list below. In practice this is probably the best movie theatre in the Rochester area. Pros: Beautifully cushioned, wide reclining seats are it's main draw. If we go to another movie theatre now, the seating is very uncomfortable in comparison. One can arrive at the last minute because seating is reserved. You no longer have to arrive early in order to get the best seats. Good snack selection. Parking is ample. Cons: Can't wait until the last minute to go. You should plan days ahead. Seating is reserved and minimal. To get seats a person really needs to purchase tickets a couple of days, or more, in advance. Price. Since the remodeling, ticket prices are through the roof. A recent non matinee showing of "Guardians of the Galaxy, 3D" cost $15 a ticket. We settled for non 3D, but even those tickets were $11. This is too much in my opinion. Limited selection of movies: Obviously, because AMC spent so much on the remodel, the movie schedule is limited to the big blockbusters. Most of the time that's probably not an issue, but I'd love to see an occasional "art" movie on their programming list. It'd be great to see "Boyhood" and other films like it at this theatre. If the cons didn't exist this theatre would rate five stars. read more

2nd best theater in Rochester (IMAX is #1). By now you know about the seats - that's easily the #1 reason to go here. Comfortable and easy to control the position. The other great thing about AMC is how fast and easy they run. If you pick your seats ahead of time online, you just walk up to the kiosk when you walk in, punch in your confirmation # they txt to your phone, and you have your tickets in under 60 seconds from when you get out of your car, it's amazing. The fact that you pretty much have to reserve online (unless the movie has been out for a while) really cuts down on lines. I've never had to wait for anything in there. The other thing I love is the sound. It's really loud in there, much louder than many of the other local theaters. read more

I recommend paying the $15 to join Stubs if you frequent this theater. This might be the greatest movie experience I've ever had. The theatre boasts individual seats like you would find in any ritzy home theatre in a home you likely could never afford. You know, the ones you see all the time when watching HGTV and screaming at the TV "Why the hell would you have an 18 seat movie theatre in a household of one?" That's only me? Shit. Well, this experience was much better than every other sticky floored, severely cramped seating, can't find seats together movie outing I've had. You get to reserve your own individual seats, which makes rushing to make the movie a thing of the past. Did I mention that my ticket was only $10 for a late night premiere? Yeah, that's incredible. Out of all the movie theaters I've been to, this one definitely deserves five stars. I really only knew that there would be fancy seats... but there was so much more! First, you can reserve your seats online. No more worrying about showing up early to get a good seat or making sure there is enough space for your group to sit together. Want popcorn? Yeah, you still pay a high price ($8 for a large with refills), but you get to dispense your own butter ("flavoring") and salt. Soda machines are also self-serve and boast any flavor you could imagine. The seats are better than what I have in my own house. They're cushy, they recline, and you can lift the center divider to snuggle with your lover. When my friend asked me afterward, "did it meet your expectations?" Honestly everyones reviews are so bias because of the chairs i guess there more comfortable but the are no seats you have to order tickets for a day movie a day ahead or you wont sit with the people you come with or the sold out. Plus it cost 12 dollars for an adult night or day and they charge you a convenience fee of 3 dollars why not go to another theater and pay 7 dollars for a ticket. I went here for the first time recently. We purchased tickets about an hour or two in advance. I was a little worried that we had to be in the second row but with the reclining seats I would be perfectly happy even in the very front row. The seats are very comfy though the leather makes it a little cold but I get cold easy. The prices were on par with other local movie theaters and they have some cool memberships if you go a lot. The one thing that's slightly obnoxious is the leather is noisy when you move the recliners so if you have to get up it makes a scene. read more

I was watching captain american: the winter soldier there. We were seating in the second row. I didn't know if it was only me. The newly remodeled accommodations are phenomenal, but the management is not. My friends and I went to see The Purge, and all throughout the movie several people were texting on their phones and even taking phone calls. The person sitting directly next to me had his camera flash go off no less than 20 times DURING the movie. No ushers came to remedy the situation(s), and when we inquired with the person who had identified himself as the manager, he only replied "we're working on it". I don't think I would try this theatre again any time soon. read more

The ultimate movie experience! It's so nice to see a new show in such comfort. With cozy reclining chairs and plenty of space between you and your neighbor, AMC has done a good job ensuring that everyone is happy. The concessions are outrageously expensive just like every other movie theater on this planet so I guess that's consistency. There is a good selection of snacks at the concession stand and the space itself is always clean and well kept. Given how many people lounge in these chairs each day, I'm always surprised how good of a condition everything is in. This will remain my go-to movie theater! read more

I went to a theatre like this in Seattle but they had a restaurant and bar attached so you could get drinks, apps, dinner or dessert delivered right to your seat at the time you specify. It was really cool and when I heard this theatre was being renovated I was excited to try it out. Now it doesn't have a bar/restaurant attached but has the usual expensive theatre concessions. It does have one of the fancy coke machines where you can have any flavor of any kind pretty much. The only thing I didn't like which I know some people do, is putting my own butter on the popcorn - I don't know! I always do too little or too much I wish my concession person would just do it for me still. Recently I went and when I asked for the soft pretzle bites, they needed 15mins so the guy at the concessions asked for my seat number and delivered them when they were ready! That was awesome. One thing missing from the theatre is a hide-a-way table at your chair, not a necessity just a convenience. Its especially a great place if you go to see a popular movie or a midnight movie because you can reserve your seat! No more waiting in line and trying to save seats!! We get there right when it starts and have no worries about finding a good seat since we already have them! This will be one of our top two movie theatres to go to. The other one probably beats it out just because it's closer to us and they email coupons as well as have popcorn/drink deals. read more
