First time here for a limited showing. It was extremely dead, but crawling with staff. Since I'd never been here I didn't know if ordering drinks and snacks were different than other AMCs and no one was at the food registers. Since there were some workers around I asked a middle aged blonde woman with dark rimmed glasses what to do to get drinks. She looked at me like I was bothering and annoying her, was exceptionally rude while telling me to just get a drink, theyre right there. I wasn't sure if you had to order them separately since its a dine-in, my first visit, and there hadn't been anyone at the register til I was done getting my drink. She was the first worker I saw past the guy who scanned my tickets. I've genuinely never been spoken to like that by anyone over a small, easy question-- better yet someone you'd think would have customer service training. After I paid, I looked back and all she was doing was talking to other workers. The seats weren't very comfortable, the least comfortable I've been in at an AMC and I dont usually go to the remodeled ones, you also can't lift up the arm rests. Well.. False advertising big time is all I have to say.. Or update your website! It says "Dine in delivery to seat" when you buy the tickets on the website. Well, that's a big lie. You get in there and there are little signs at every seat on the table in front of you that say "you have to go to the bar if you want food". So this defeats the whole purpose of fork and screen and dining at the theater, as nobody wants to miss their beloved movie and run to the bar to pay $15.86 for a damn cheeseburger. If I'm going to pay those high food prices at least deliver the damn thing to my seat! The website is very deceiving.. Don't say that you deliver it to my seat so that I buy tickets on your website when you don't actually do that!!!!!!!! Look at the pictures! It says Delivery to Seat in bold capital letters! Came to watch movie with family for Christmas and movie cut out towards the end when the movie was getting good. Staff said they aware but 30 minutes of waiting led to nothing being done. Understand that it's a Christmas staff and things happen but "magic of the movies" was killed. They were kind enough to refund us ticket but frustrating overall for a movie my family had been looking forward to for a long time. read more

Such a cool place! We didn't eat, but we got drinks for the movie. You can hang out outside the theaters at the bars as well. The seats were very comfortable and had lots of legroom. The waitstaff was very responsive and tried to be very unobtrusive, which was greatly appreciated. I'm not sure about the other drinks, but the Jameson and ginger tasted very dilute. Aside from the soft drinks, which are ridiculous everywhere, the alcoholic drinks were average in price. Definitely will keep this place in mind for the future. read more

So many theaters there, no wonder it's the biggest theaters in the metro area. I enjoyed the Fork & Screen here. You can booked your seats in advanced and also order food and drinks right at your seat and they can bring it to you. It's like a dinner and a movie at the same time. The IMAX theater also have a huge screen and the sounds is great. Seats are comfortable and lots of leg rooms. Food and drinks are pretty basic here. If you joined their AMC Stubs, you can get discounts or deals on items. Definitely a good place to watch movies. read more

The entire place was out of carbonation, so no drinks for us. The staff was friendly and even though they were short staffed, we were taken care of. I did have to go to the bar for help, but he was nice enough and tried to explain the under staffed issue. He couldn't explain the lack of carbonation though. The seats have certainly aged since the last time we were there and the theater seemed a bit tired. Definitely think we will continue to visit the Ward Parkway location instead of returning to this one. read more

This place is run down compared to others. The staff are hardly trained. Today I sat and watched a movie while a guy in front of me VERY LOUDLY spit his chewing tobacco into a cup. It was so constant I finally got up and told guest services. Apparently they allow people to chew in the theaters regardless of how obnoxious they are being about it. The employee did absolutely nothing about it even though I complained twice and I know at least one other person complied as well. I wish I could say this is the first time we've had issues with this location but it isn't. The popcorn is always stale and the whole concession stand area is an absolute train-wreck. They don't keep up with the bathrooms and the theaters are never fully cleaned either. I've given this place a handful of chances and they always disappoint. Never again. read more

And the fact that they changed it over where you can grab some real food while you are waiting for the movie to begin, compounds how much I really love it. The food is good. It is not great. We took our kids to see Sonic 2 on a slightly busy Friday evening. It was my husband and I's first time in a movie theater since February 2020. Here is what we observed: 1. AMC does not do dine-in seating anymore. Everything is ordered at the concession stand. This was fine for us, because we had dinner prior. Which brings me to point #2.... 2. Inflation + pandemic = sticker shock: we went to celebrate our daughter's birthday. For four kids and two adults to have popcorn, candy, and drinks, the total was $98 and some change. In my opinion, AMC has always been on the more expensive side when it comes to concessions so it really wasn't a surprise to me. (Cinemark is more economically friendly and their popcorn tastes better.) 3. Customer service: mid at best. The young man ringing us up at the concessions was quite surly. Not sure if it was because we had four very excited kids, the Friday evening rush or what, but a smile and basic level manners are always appreciated. 4. Theatre: We we're in the smaller theater, which was...interesting. It got crowded quickly. From my understanding, the movie had been out for a while but for as many folks that were in the theater, it was too small. Overall, the movie was good and the kids enjoyed themselves. I personally prefer Cinemark but chose AMC this time because they had better options for showtimes. We will definitely stick to watching movies at home on-demand or catching a weekend matinee at Cinemark depending on the film and showtime options. read more

AMC 28 is my go to theater. Being on the AMC A-List has me going to the movies at least once a week. The Dolby theater is excellent and the seats are very comfortable. If you haven't seen a movie in IMAX definitely give it a shot. The screen and sound are musts for big screen events. I love the number of movies this place is able to provide...28 theaters is really impressive! If I'm looking for a movie that may have left smaller theaters, I know I can usually find it playing at AMC 28. I know the seats vary from theater to theater, but for my most recent visit I was in a pretty uncomfortable chair. It didn't ruin my movie, but it certainly wasn't a comfy way to spend 2 hours. I was there at 11AM on a Saturday, and already the carpets were littered with popcorn and trash with no one in sight cleaning it up. I hadn't eaten anything that day, so I visited the concessions area. I found it to be really confusing overall. Different food is ordered at different counters, then customers are asked to pay and make their way back through the crowd to pick up that food when your name is called (if you can hear it). It wasn't very busy at 11AM and people were bumping into one another, and walking in circles...I can't imagine what it's like when this theater is really busy. I didn't want anything greasy or buttery, so I thought I'd be safe ordering pretzels, but I was wrong. Upon opening the box, the first thing I noticed is that my pretzel bites were wet. They were saturated in what I can only assume was popcorn butter. Whatever it was, it didn't taste natural. Because I was hungry, and I had just dropped about $7 on this snack, I ended up literally squeezing each pretzel bite into a napkin to rid each one of the "butter". They were each smushed and flat by the time I'd gotten done, but they tasted much better. Lesson learned......I will ask for no liquid next time. This theater has been around for a long time, and it offers a lot of great movies. That's a great thing until you have an action movie playing next door to a senti-drama. I suppose all theaters deal with this issue, but it was hard to focus on our movie at times with explosions next door. In all, I recommend this theater for loud movies, and movies where you may have missed them at other venues. I haven't tried anything but popcorn (which was GREAT) and the pretzels, so I can't really comment on the food overall. It's in a great location with tons of parking, a dine in theater, and the employees are all very kind and helpful. read more

This theater is one of the worst I've been to. Upon entering, the ticket person was quick and efficient. We immediately went to the snack stand. We got popcorn and drinks. The "fresh" popcorn was cold and flat. So disappointing given it was just after 10 AM. We went to the snack stand. The guys were super casual and friendly which is all you can ask for. We went down to theater 2, which is a dine in theater. We were the only people there so we sat in the middle. We made it to about 1/3 of the way with the movie and they still hadn't shut the overhead lights off. We all pushed the service buttons and waited for 20 more minutes. I had to go out and get someone to turn them off. The person I mentioned it to had the worst attitude and acted like the service buttons not working was just a known thing. They won't do better so waiting for that is a waste of time. I will say this is one of the reasons people just stay home and use their own systems and TV. I miss the seamless, quality movie experience. read more

Ok lets keep in mind that I just moved here and I have never ever ever ever seen anything like this place. Sooo excited I was. So worth every penny. I went into the FORK and SCREEN part of the theater. After taking a good look around the place. Every section in this place is decorated accordingly. The section that plays anime or Disney movie have video games in the hallways. Pictures along the walls are colorful and pop outs. The middle is the food. Ice cream, coffee, typical movie stuff plus more. I thought the popcorn seasonings were cute and a tasty idea. Items like parm cheese and cinnamon. Moving along to the adult side fork and screen. They have a bar at the end of the hall to get here. the décor in the hallway are more darker in color and settling verses in your face. The bar is nicely set up and surrounding it are areas to sit, very close in comparison to a lounge. Classy and modern. Staff also come to you to see if you would like to order. Finally in the movie room. I came to see FOCUS with Will Smith. Very good movie by the way, I suggest everyone see it. They have bar looking table in front of every row with about 4 seats before they separate creating great space. I would say there is more then enough leg room, so much I had to sit on the egde of my seat to eat. I had a Long Island and jalapeno poppers. Taste like any bar food. I'll try the entrees the next time I come here. Free refills on soda. The staff are so quiet moving about during the movie. I didn't even see or hear him put the check down. Just awesome place. If Fork and Screen wasn't good enough, throw in a ridiculous easy chair and more menu items and you have Cinesuites. 4. Want to pregame or postgame the movie? Check out the full bar at MacGuffin's. 5. Want concessions that include TOBLERONE or scooped ice cream? 6. Want a rewards card where you can actually earn points and actually save money on your imprudent food purchases? Try AMC Stubs. Generally clean, despite being VERY busy as a theater. read more

I'm visiting in Olathe, KS and I have never watched a movie and ate dinner. Pretty neat. I took my son and we went to Pirates of the Caribbean and paid $16.40 for two tickets. We ordered food- boneless wings, a sampler platter, double cheeseburger and two shakes. Cost was: $62.00. The theater was clean and the seats were comfortable. One of the biggest theatres in the KC area. This theatre even has fork and screen stadiums (if you want to eat real meals during your movies), cinema suites (for a more private and comfortable 21+ movie experience), IMAX (or faux IMAX), and your regular theatre screen. The prices are decent (way cheaper than California theatre ticket prices). The prices are cheaper Monday-Thursday and any showtime before noon is $5, pretty much a steal. The IMAX at this theatre isn't a true IMAX. It's basically a regular theatre that has an IMAX sound system, IMAX projector, and bigger screen. If you have a chance to experience a real IMAX screen, you will know what I mean. I would forgo the IMAX and go see your movie at a regular screen because at this theatre, the screens are already pretty big. This theatre is clean, has big screens, a variety of movies, and plenty of showtimes for new movies. It's a nice theatre to go to around the Johnson County area. read more

Gotta love AMC! I've been to many in Kansas City and they always make me feel great and comfortable! This time, my baby cousin and I went to see Angry Birds. He desperately wanted a slushy but we were running late for the movie. The great thing though, is that all of the snacks and drinks are available for you to grab at your own pace and then make it to a line. We were able to get the first spot in line because people were still deciding on what they wanted and we made it in time for our movie! The seats are very comfortable and leave enough space for you to stretch out and lay your seat back. My cousin loved his slushy and popcorn which made for a successful trip! AMC's are just getting nicer and nicer so I will definitely be returning. The only complaint I have is the pricing. It is very very steep in my opinion. I know that you're paying for the experience so at the end of the day it is worth it, but it's difficult to want to go there over a place that might be less expensive! Well, the movie was awful Nothing like the previews. Wife totally scammed me into going. (Frozen)... Pitchers of beers at your seat? Awesome. Popcorn comes with a side of butter, so not loaded down if you don't want it. Press a button and waiter/server comes and takes your order. I had these Thai chicken tenders. It was like a tempura batter and they definitely were not from sysco or pre-prepared. Came with fries, so not a diet place...although they did have salads and such. Pretty decent grub, but my stars come from the uniqueness of the place and not just the food. Seats are huge recliners and the place is clean. Pricey though. I'd go again. read more

Huge theater with many screens! Depending on which site you use to book tickets, it's a struggle to figure out which type of room you will be in. The tickets for the "complete dining" theater are more expensive, and often not what I prefer (although sometimes a beer is nice!). Since this is in a huge shopping area in Olathe and next to many restaurants, be careful of the hours you go or any theater may be inundated with a lot of kids and/or teens. This can also making parking a challenge as people park at the theater when the restaurant parking is full. They often only have 1-2 lines available if you're purchasing tickets in person, but there are also a few kiosks for you to do so electronically at the entrance. They need to work on expediting entrances as it's happened several times where movies are starting at the exact same time and they only have one person scanning tickets for entry. The bathrooms are many, but the upkeep is just okay. The food is typical (mediocre overpriced popcorn, candy that costs an arm and a leg, etc). Some of the theaters have comfy seats, but many have the old school type, so read the fine print before you book your tickets! read more

Took the family to the movies tonight. Reserved the tickets over three weeks ago. Felt safe as according to the online reservations there were only 8 other people going to the movie. Turns out the was more. We had people sitting behind us, in front of us, and next to us. We kept our masks on the entire movie and were the only ones doing so. I asked to speak to the manager afterwards as I wanted to know why the reservation system and on site ticket purchases do not take into account social distancing. Never got to see the manager as I was told by the customer rep "Sorry but we are about capacity not distancing". The seat next to me was covered in a sticky substance so evidently they do not clean at all either. Last time I will go to that theater until after all of this is over. read more

Absolutely worse service ever. Made reservations for dine in to take my grandson to John Wick. Had paid and picked out seats so no problem. No one told us we had to order food from the bar now. (So 60 for in theater take out). Waited 50 minutes after ordered abd No food but everyone else had there's. Went back down the 5 flights of stairs to see where the food was. Bartender gave me the food and I had to carry drinks and food back up 5 flights of stairs. How is that a dine in experience? I'm livid. Ask for a manager.....nothing. It's no news about AMC Theatres. I've always enjoyed the AMCs I've visited with their style of seating and great sound. I couldn't believe this place has 30 screens! Unfortunately, not all of them are running so it's not like you'll always find a show on a screen. The place is huge with multiple concession stands, but there's only one open when I go. Now, the real prize - the automatic ticket dispensers. I absolutely love not waiting around for tickets. It's the only way to go, especially on a more crowded night because it takes you forever to find a parking space. As for the IMAX, watching Dark Knight was pretty killerl. I wanted the screen to be larger and the sound to be more enveloping, but it was totally worth it. Probably the best theatre with the most to offer in the area. The price hike to $10.00 from $5.00 on a weekend is ridiculous. Maybe $7.50 but $10.00! And as expected, two drinks and some munchies will cost more than your tickets. Annoying. read more

If I can leave -5 stars I would I don't even know where to begin on this review, I thought going to this AMC would be a great idea for a date night But someone in marketing decided that it would be a great idea NOT to post that we stop serving alcohol at 10 otherwise I would've never went to go see the movie at that point of time, then I proceeded to order food which I thought how bad can this be? Believe me it got worse I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and my wife got a Cobb salad, the salad was OK but when I got my burger, the fries and burger was lukewarm. Normally I don't have a problem with amc. It's one of the more expensive theatres but since I normally go to the dine in or the one on ward parkway that has special seats. I don't have this partially complaint. Saw two movies for my moms birthday first one was in a normal movie theatre. The seats were at an angle that felt like you were going to fall out of them. Only way to be comfortable was to put ur feet up. Thankfully nobody was sitting in front of us. Though the dine in theatre movie that we saw afterwards was different. Expensive for the food but you know what your paying for and it's good. I don't know if it was just that one theatre that had weird seats or all of the normal theatres. Would rather go to the ward parkway amc. Where a normal price tickets gets you a comfortable recliner seat. Or just save money and go to Cinemark. read more

This is about the best theatre in the Kansas City area. They've got a full bar and cinema suites. Being able to seriously relax in an over-sized leather Laz-e-boy whilst enjoying a quality adult beverage surrounded by other courteous adults (and no crying babies/annoying kids) is the most perfect invention ever. Getting tickets can be difficult as it's a rightfully popular venue, but if you really want to enjoy a movie without some of the normal aggravation, this is your oasis. read more

Very large theater with excellent quality screens and sound. You're guaranteed to enjoy the latest blockbuster movie here. Two issues need to be addressed: Seats - very uncomfortable. The seat backs are almost completely vertical, forcing you to slouch or have this constant feeling if falling forward. I was never able to get comfortable. Food - this is a self serve style, where you grab what you want and bring it to the register. The layout makes this confusing and nobody was instructing people in the process, so you had people bumping into another, confused, unclear what to do. I also challenged how sanitary the place was. A friend and I decided we wanted to go to the movies to sit in some nice recliners and order some food. As soon as we walked in we got our tickets and the man was very helpful. When we went to the lady to tell us where our theater we asked how we ordered, come to find out it's just a normal theater and you had to go to the concession stands, (which were badly placed.) The prices for a nacho, large popcorn, 2 icee's, and 2 bags of candy was $44. I usually come here for free early movie screenings. Their seats are sometimes comfortable. They have some workers there who don't know what they're doing. I tried to redeem my free screening ticket and the guy didn't accept it without the AMC stub hub card which I had. I went to another person and gave them my ticket and stub hub and got the ticket right away. That was the only bad experience I had with an employee there at that theater. Horrible management not checking on their employees work. Hiring lazy kids that can't even use a sweeper and dust pan. I go in to my auditorium #19 and was never even clean I tell the manager and he get people in their but two walk out and go sit down on their phone to go back in and they barely clean anything, they pick a few things up and then sweep everything under seats, then I saw the bottom row ground level wasn't even touched I took a pic and showed the manager and one guy came back in and pick the popcorn container and cup up but dump the popcorn on the floor. read more
