Usual have a good time here, but this time is certainly an exception. A Thursday night and we are sitting in the restaurant area. After 20 minutes of being ignored, we asked for a server and were told there wee no servers for the area.....where there are tables and menus??? So we sent somebody down to the bar to get drinks and were told everybody in the group would need to come down and order individually with their ID's. Still sitting with no food or drink. This place used to bend over backwards to make you feel welcome, but things have sure changed. Really sad at how far things have fallen. read more

If I could give this theater no stars at all I would after tonight. I used to be a frequent customer of this theater until tonight when I went to see the Motley Crue:The End concert at this theater. It was a one night only event that I should have been able to enjoy with the other Crue fans but no this loud mouthed lady had to walk in and take a seat in the front row of the theater fifteen minutes before it started. She seemed rather drunk before it all started of course so I was really hoping she would quiet down when it started but obviously I was wrong. I did try to call the front desk of the theater to let them know about it but it went straight to voicemail and a recording. When I went to complain at the end of the show the first person I spoke with told me they spoke with the manager of the bar about not allowing her to purchase anymore alcohol but she obviously had someone else go get her alcohol as I witnessed that at the end of the show about ten minutes from the end of it. When that person pretty much didn't seem to give a care one way or another whether about losing my business I asked to speak with her manager. Well guess what he acted the same way! He didn't give a care about losing business. I have never heard someone in a theater as loud as that woman was tonight and I will never go to this amc theater again. I would rather wait until a movie is out on demand so I can buy it than to ever go here again. If it weren't for the fact that I didn't want to miss a minute of Motley Crue's final concert ever then I would have went out and complained. And they were trying to tell me I was the only complaint about her. There is no way in the world that I was. They cared more about people being on their phones than they did about that loud mouthed woman (sorry but no lady would act like she did nor get as drunk as she was) who almost ruined the entire concert for us all and they should have honestly given us all free tickets and shown it to us all again without her there. I'm sure that after this I'm not the only one who will find a different theater to go to and it won't be amc either. read more

This is a very nice theater. Having 30 screens allows the theater to be flexible with their show times. The theater also has a vast array of amenities including digital projection, Real-D 3D, IMAX, in-theater dining, and MacGuffins Bar and Lounge. The theater offers Cinema Suites, which features reclining movie seats and dining. All screens are wheelchair accessible. Sound quality, especially in the ETX auditorium (Enhanced Theater X-perience), is outstanding. This theater also offers many events including, The Best Picture Showcase (where the studio shows all Oscar nominated best picture films). One downside is the food quality, which doesn't make a difference unless you'll be taking advantage of in-theater dining (although concessions are very good, especially the popcorn). Dark auditoriums make it difficult to eat your meal, and the food doesn't have much flavor and is often lukewarm. Food prices are also high. Ticket prices are also slightly high for IMAX, 3D, and ETX (but this is to be expected). Overall, this is a great theater. Whether its a special occasion or just going to watch a movie, this theater offers all that and more. I would highly recommend checking it out! read more

Took a friend to celebrate her bday....VERY DISAPPOINTED to find they have changed their menu. Fewer options, smaller portions, and prices INCREASED! Ok if you want bread and fried foods. We ordered a large salad and it was very small and did not even have a cracker or bread stick on the side. We will eat elsewhere the next time and sit in the regular theatre. Fork & Screen and Cinema Suites have lost their appeal and this customer. read more

Phenomenally busy on weekend nights, making waiting for tickets in line obnoxious. But so far, for a big big theater, the audiences are pretty respectful and it's all new and clean. read more

Great place! Fork and Screen, although some people say, is not 18 and over. Cinema sweets is 21+, but my seven year old brother comes along when we go to Fork and Screen. We have seen Karate Kid, Despicable Me, and She's Outta My League (7 year old was not present for that one) in Fork and Screen and we will continue to visit often! read more

Christmas Eve family went to see True Grit. We are grandparents from out of town and both 76 yrs of age. When ordering 2 glasses of wine for both of us my husband was asked for ID which he showed, but I had not brought my purse or ID. I was told I could not be served and if I drank any of this wine I would be removed from theater. this was done without humor and rudely. They checked on us 3 times and interrupted our viewing. Never even having a parking ticket I was embarrassed. So much for respecting seniors. So much for common sense. read more

Prices of movies these days are insane especially for the garbage hollywood is producing. There is nothing special about this place. Run of the mill multi-plex. Temps in the theatre are pretty cold and I'm very warm blooded. The wife has to bundle up if we go. read more

Great place for movie, drinks and dinner date! Very nice and knowledgable staff... A little pricy but still a great experience.

We drove from Wichita, Kansas, (2 1/2 hours) for a 24-hour Best-Picture-Oscar-Nominee marathon. We were very excited to see the films and see if we could stay awake through all of them, but my daughter started to feel ill during our drive. By the time we got to the theater she really was NOT feeling good, and we hadn't realized the event would be packed out. We barely made it and there were no seats left except two in the last row (which were being saved, tacky!) and in the very front row, where our noses were practically touching the screen. This was not going to work for us. We spoke to a manager named Carrie. She apologized for the situation, assured us that, while she couldn't interrupt the first film, she would have people move toward the center to free up any seats right afterward. She invited us to step into any theater in the plex in the meantime to watch any movie we wanted to. I thought that was very nice, and we were trying to decide what to do. My daughter was feeling quite sick and we went to the car to think things through--she hated that we had already made a scene trying to find a seat when the film had already started, we would be spending the day with this group of people and did not feel good about the whole thing. She had paid $120 for the tickets and got very upset thinking she would just rather leave but was sure we couldn't get our money back. I went back in to talk to Carrie. She was on the phone and I spoke to Heather, who was very kind and understanding, and then to Carrie when she was done taking her call. Carrie was wonderful! She understood the situation and gave us a full refund. I have worked in customer service for a good part of my life, and in my opinion she epitomized all the best qualities that make for great, memorable service. I don't write many reviews, but I thought that she went well above the call of duty in our situation. The theater's policy is not normally to refund after the film has started, which I think is reasonable, and I would have accepted that, or a partial refund, although my daughter works hard and was thrilled to have her money back. We can't attend movies there regularly, of course, since we live somewhere else, but we do make several trips a year to Kansas City and you can bet we will be back to spend our movie money at this theater rather than some other place. Carrie has earned our loyalty and I thought it would be good for locals to know what a jewel they have there. We are already looking forward to next year's Oscar event and will be arriving much earlier next time! read more

The Cinema Suites is our favorite date night! The recliners are very cozy! They have made some changes to their menu. It is not as good as the old menu, but still good as far as movie theater food goes. They have table side service for cocktails and food. It is 21 and older, so you do not have to worry about younger people being loud or rude. We love the bar. It is very modern and a fun, cozy place to have a cocktail. If you go regularly, check out the STUBS card program which can earn you discounts and freebies! read more

Headquarters here in Leawood, Ks., you would think this company would be watching every theatre they have in the Kansas area for improvements. Our experience has led us to other local theatres for a better experience. The overall upkeep outside and definitely inside needs improvement, More help in concessions is needed, MUCH BETTER housekeeping is needed all around this place, YUK! Stains on furniture and carpet, food and drink service at dine in, tastes lowsy. Step it up AMC, you have competition, it isn't just about sound quality, it is the whole experience. Won't go back till these theatres get a clue about cleaning and offering a decent menu for dine-in. Don't be average, take care of your business! It's not just Olathe, It is Leawood, and around that we are noticing a decline. I don't want to tiptoe around getting food to avoid food stuck on my shoes or see trash in a eating area, nor do I want to wait to get an adult beverage because you have ONE bartender staffed. been many times with no luck. once I looked up movie times online, and when I got to the theatre, the movie was an hour later than the time on their website. we've been and they couldn't cook any food. another time their soda machines weren't working, yet they were still selling pops instead of telling people they weren't working. the seats are uncomfy and not worth it, I go to AMC Leawood for reclining seats at the same price in every theatre. Never had a problem in Leawood. read more
