It was 8 years since I last went to the movies and I didn't really miss it. There were a lot of reasons why, but I decided to go back and break my nice streak - and I was glad I did. With one of my favorite and go to theaters closing a few years ago, options were a little slimmer but the AMC Palisades was a location I was willing to go. There are closer options, but I choose not to go to those theaters. Things have certainly changed from 8 years ago (from my perspective anyway) and for the better. I ordered my tickets online and got to pick my seats, but in non-crowded theater it doesn't really make a difference. You can order concessions online, but I chose not to. There are other things such as memberships, rewards, and all that on the website. The seats are a LOT more comfortable that before. I thought superior stadium seating with decently comfortable seats was the last great innovation, but these large, comfortable and reclining seats were very relaxing. The cupholders were quite nice and convenient as well. The prices for concessions are what they are. I was more disappointed that certain merchandise wasn't there (such as those specialty popcorn holders) that the jackals take opening weekends and sell for high prices online. Any staff I encountered were friendly. Located in the Palisades mall, there are plenty of (free) parking options. I liked going back so much, I went twice in a short span and have plans to go back from now on a little more frequently. Glad I gave going to the movies another shot and I'm glad it was AMC.

First time visiting this location. At first, I felt alot was going on in the lobby area with how the concession stand is just in the middle of the place. The staff were not the most friendly & even though I was the only one on line they talked amongst themselves at the concession stand until I finally just walked up to the register & let the staff know I was ready to order. The establishment had clean bathrooms & theaters. When I entered the theater I fell in love with the stadium seating & the extra functions to recline your chair(which was different from my Amc theater I usually visit). Great view from row G, seat 2.

Really a 3.5 star experience but the movie was excellent so bumping up to 4. Visiting here is like stepping back in time 10 or 15 years. This is great for the nostalgia factor but no so great when you pay premium to see a movie. Everyone working there was kind and the seats were comfortable. Not the best quality picture but the sound was good.

This is a great movie theater located in Palisades Mall. I have come here several times to catch a movie. AMC is located on the top floor next to several restaurants and bars. You can watch a movie after exploring the mall and having a nice dinner. For my family who don't enjoy commuting into the city to see a movie this is a perfect location. I like to visit this AMC because the prices are cheaper, there is more seating available, and you don't have large crowds of people. On the other side you don't get the packed, loud experience as you would in the city watching a big movie. Sometimes I would like to be in a large crowd when watching a Marvel movie like the Avengers.

My 1 Star Google and Trip Advisor Review... AMC robbed me of $47.36! Fire alarm was pulled halfway through Ghostbusters. The process of evacuating the building and reentering took half an hour. No biggie. BUT after that the 's who were running the projector spend an ENTIRE HOUR attempting to get the movie to play. After a total of 90 minutes waiting, my friend and I ran out of time. I went to the service counter and explained to the manager that we have been patiently waiting for 90 minutes to finish a movie and that we simply don't have any more time and need a refund. The rude idiot handed me a coupon for a free movie (which is useless to me cause it expires in 6 days and I'll be working). He told me it's company policy not to offer refunds, even during an equipment failure. AMC just lost a lifelong customer! I'm also warning all my friends and family about the practices this greedy, publicly traded company uses. I'm also seeking out justice on social media. Lastly, on Monday I'm calling my stock broker and selling all my stock. DON'T GIVE THESE THEIVES YOUR MONEY!

Ask the Community - AMC Palisades 21

Does AMC palisades21 have LOVE SEATS?

The armchair recliners are paired up. You can swing the armrest up and back to create in effect one loveseat for two.

How large is the movie screen at AMC PALISADES CENTER 21?

They're big. A lot of seats.

Do the seats in the IMAX theater room recline? I know they are leather but there have been mixed reports on the comfort and reclining capability. Thanks!

No, the seats in the IMAX theater room do not recline. Not sure about other screens though.

My friend ordered 2 waters and a soda for each of us as well as truffle parm popcorn for me and fried pickles and she tried the honey thyme wings. We received one water and asked for another which we didn't receive until 10 minutes before the movie ended. The sodas were fine and the food came out fine. I asked for a refill of my popcorn which I had to keep pushing the button since it was taking awhile. I was brought plain which I barely ate and after the movie approached the wait staff who fixed it and added seasoning and packed it up in a box for me. It was quiet as usual despite it being a kids movie but there were kids running down the aisle of the theater but that was the inly disruption. I love that the Alamo has strict rules.

Finally got an excuse with the Super Mario brothers movie to come by. 'Cool' is the word when it comes for what they're going for with Alamo. It's located in the back of a shopping center with ample parking, however the decor is very nice inside. They had a headless horseman figure, a well designed lobby, clean bathrooms, and a few games for the kids. Also had a Super Mario poster kids could take pics in front of. Bar looked great too. They like their retro vibes, and the old school Mario cartoons/shows before the movie was a nice touch; saw some Godzilla stuff I might come back for too. Food was easy to order from your seat. Why only 3 stars? Service was very uneven. My food and my son's food came out immediately, however my wife's food (and a side of sauce for me) took 20min. I flagged this multiple times in the app without acknowledgement, so eventually grabbed someone only to get a boilerplate answer of 'we're working on everyone's food'. Luckily her food came independently right after, but she was starving so not a great experience. My food was cold when it came, however the boneless chicken wings were very good. Still sucked for her. My beer was also flat when it arrived, however I do t expect the world there when it comes to a theater (although if they poured it with more head it might've been fine). Lastly, my chair's back didn't recline much, which prevented me from the nap I planned to take during this movie. Could've been worse, however also could've been better. I am open to going Alamo 1 more shot, however might be just for me and friends versus a family. They really need to work on the operational back end here, as the place is cool as hell and I'd love to be a regular if they had things together.
