absolutely the worst customer service experience I've encountered in my entire life! The management at Hamilton AMC was rude, extremely unprofessional and less than helpful. They had an attitude upon first arriving which set the tone for the rest of the encounter. They flat out refused admittance and made up a lie so they could then refuse a refund. They are thieves. No parent should send their unsupervised children to this establishment under the current staff as their children will be harassed, judged and bullied. I'd have given zero stars but that isn't an option. they will never again get my business and I will deter anyone I know from going as well. read more

I get that this is an old, i.e. "classic," theater, so you are going to get a smallish screen, older seats, etc. But even against my medium expectations, I was not expecting the theater to be so fricking cold! When we mentioned this to one of the staff on our way out, they replied that they were "working on it," but said that the folks who were in charge of fixing it were unfamiliar with Ohio weather. We couldn't quite figure out what that meant, and in any event, it doesn't make the theater any warmer. They also suggested bringing blankets next time. But I feel like if you are going to sell tickets to a movie theater where you recommend bringing blankets, you should tell people ahead of time. At a minimum. read more

Today was a cold day outside and inside the theater- I asked an employee to turn up the heat please and he said that corporate had to do it/ so we watched a 3 hour movie with gloves winter coat and hood up- it was miserable- I will never go back. read more

There is a massive issue with the Showplace 8 theater in Hamilton, OH. The seats need to change, as they have not been updated in 30 years. Those who are overweight or have bad knees like the elderly can't even get up and always fall due to the collapsable seat design. There are seats toward the back with bigger leg space but there needs to be an update. Either have higher chairs or have electric powered chairs that can lift the user on demand. It's sad to see loved ones struggle due to your company's cheap ways. I'm contacting the local news channels to show them how little your company cares about the elderly. Disgusting. read more

Be me. I take my wife out to see the best movie of the season. Get to the theater hella early and have my tickets already purchased on fandango (wouldn't recommend because you still have to pick up your ticket from the goblins behind the counter). Tickets in hand and I'm super excited because we are first in line to enter the theater, just waiting for the cleaners to finish. I know we're going to score the middle money shot seats and I'm so happy because this man is going to get lucky tonight because his female knows he puts out. Finally get to enter the theater and discover the middle six rows are reserved by the most annoying tri-delta sorority teen women imaginable, *hehe yah... totally, she's all like (gag).* So we decide to sit in the back and she's visibly annoyed because our punctuality was not rewarded. This is an older theater, but it is very clean. We have been here a couple times, and have never had to deal with a messy theater. For 5 of us to come and watch a movie with a large popcorn and large drink for about 33 dollars, that's a streal. It's never too crowded, which is something I enjoy. We don't need to be the first people to see a movie the weekend it comes out, except for Star Wars. . . haha. It's a not a bad drive if you're a Miami student or live in Oxford. I've never had any problems getting a ticket/seat there. Last time I was there though I asked the ticket salesman about some rewards club they advertise and for one thing he didn't know much about it, which isn't that bad, but he acted flippy like I was really inconveniencing him. It's like, you may be having a bad day, but that's not my fault and it makes the business look bad. The nice part of the trip was we got a free sample of their Coke machines since they have the ones with hundreds of drink combos. This theater has really improved since AMC took over. I highly recommend joining the AMC Stubs program to get free perks and free upgrades on all food items. This theater doesn't attract all the best and latest films, but you can count on it for most of the mainstream films. Ample parking. This theatre is a disgrace to the AMC brand. As we walked in the floors were grimy and sticky. The concessions were at least semi-clean, I got a glimpse into the back room and it seemed pretty nasty. Once to the theatre the seats were old and depressed, we saw no less than 3 or 4 bugs crawl across the floor. The worst part was the unbearable stench throughout the entire theatre. It was some kind of cow manure or something but it was awful. I almost had to step outside to puke multuple times, quite ridiculous. It would be quite a good theatre if they were able to clean up a little due to the good location. I'll come back to this theatre just because of the location, but won't wear clothes important to me of course. I've been continuously shelling out small fortunes to see movies at Liberty Township and West Chester theaters. Why? Because the Hamilton theater down the street has such bad reviews. Lately at those "fancier" theaters I've been surrounded by obnoxious people talking, changing seats and messing around on their phones, so I decided, why not? I wish I'd come here sooner. There is nothing wrong with the Hamilton theater, unless you count being insanely affordably priced as a bad thing. I sure don't. This place has cheap tickets! Concession stuff is the same price with same quality. I saw some people commented on the quality of the concession food. I noticed no difference between their popcorn and any other theater's popcorn. Exactly the same. The theater space was clean, the restrooms were clean, all the staff was polite, no one in my movie did anything crazy and it was a good time. No, they don't have iMAX stuff. No they don't have crazy la-z-boy style chairs. But honestly, do you really need all that stuff to see a normal movie? Don't be scared. Save your money, give Hamilton a try & use the money you saved to go see a second movie! read more
