Run away. Run far away...
This has become the worst theater in all of Dayton. I could put up with the fact that they charge high prices for movies despite the fact that it's not nearly as updated as the other Rave theaters, with reclining seats and choosing your seats before you go. It's sad that the seats are uncomfortable, fabric is torn, and plastic is cracked.
But the thing I can't put up with is the fact that every theater in this place seems to have major sound issues. Theater 7 had a broken subwoofer for months. Every time there was something with a lot of bass it would scratch and flap around. It sounded awful and they didn't fix it. They just kept showing films. I don't remember the last time I saw a film here without some kind of sound problems.
Today was the last straw. Went to see a movies I'd been waiting a long time and as the previews are rolling I slowly realize that the only speakers that are working are the front speakers, and the left center speaker is not even working! So no subwoofer, no left speaker, no rear speakers. All the music is coming out of only the right side at a very quiet volume, and the people talking on the left side of the screen can barely be heard. How is this considered acceptable to the management? Do they never test the audio systems?
Combine these issues with the fact that they charge a premium for a theater that is already somewhat outdated, and you've now lost me as a customer altogether. I will never return to this theater and will now make the longer trip to Dayton South or Huber, where they actually seem to care about the quality of the experience.
I read a review on another site where someone spoke to management and they said they know their audio and seats are terrible, but they can't upgrade until the lease on the equipment is over or it will cost them extra money. I can totally see this being true given what I've experienced. The problem is, that means they are KNOWINGLY deciding to give their customers a terrible experience while still charging full price compared to the other better, more updated theaters in town. That's horrible.
I HIGHLY recommend you steer clear or this awful theater. read more
