I took my boys to this location yesterday evening to enjoy a movie together. My family and I were immediately harassed by security as soon as we stepped foot in the door. I've never been treated with such disrespect ever in my life. This was completely unacceptable and very unprofessional. Probably 10-15 minutes after sitting down, the security asked 2 out of 3 of my boys to leave due to them "recording". Keep in mind, they DON'T have phones or anything with a camera. I then asked security again why and he switched up his story and accused my boys of "running in and out". We literally just sat down in our seats no more than 10-15 minutes and haven't gone anywhere. The accusation was a complete lie and absurd! They had no valid reason at all. I've never been treated so lowly ever in my life. My children are mixed with black and I feel like we were racially profiled the way we were treated. I just moved to Forney and this was my first time going here. I will never step foot on this establishment again. I do NOT recommend! If I could give this location a negative review, I would. Oh, they also refused to give me a refund as well. read more

Their customer service is NOT good at all! I order tickets and popcorn online for my oldest daughter to take my younger children. When they get there she goes to the concession stand and asks for the popcorn. They tell her they do not have an order for her even though she showed them the confirmation of payment. As soon as they made it home and told me, I called but no one answered. I called the next 3 days and no one picked up the phone. On the 4th day after calling back to back, I finally get a person to discuss my concern. He puts me on hold only to come back and say there is no way to confirm whether or not to we picked it up. I then said I would not call back everyday for popcorn if we received it. He said there is nothing he could do. I said well if I cannot get my money back, will you give me a credit for my next visit? He said it would only work if he was working because he was doing it to be helpful but no one else would do it. Smh...seriously. Horrible customer service. I'm going to get my popcorn and will never go back to this place again! My advice...DO NOT order food/snacks online wait until you get there in person. read more

The staff is really nice and the theater has a lot of screens, but this is an old theater. I've been in some rooms where the seats were ok and other theater rooms that contained the most uncomfortable theater seats I've ever experienced in my life. I hope they revamp the theater because it is nice having one in town without having to drive to Dallas or Terrell but it is truly a gamble on the seats. If your theater ticket says theater 7, go to another venue. read more

Okay. This theatre is not the AMC style I'm use to. This use to be a Starplex. It appears AMC bought out all of the Starplex. When taking over another franchise, consider inspecting each location then close those that don't meet the standard of your brand. If brand is not what this company stands for, I will stick to Cinemark. Once upon a time, I choose theaters because of its location to home. Now I choose theaters based upon the quality. Pleasantly Surprised. I've lived in Forney for exactly once year on the date I visited AMC here. There is NEVER a crowd here..ever. At1st I didn't even think the place was open or that it must be in terrible shape for the local residence never to even come here. To my surprise I took my nephew to see me Black Atom and was pleasantly surprised. The theater was clean the seats were clean the popcorn was crash and the staff was friendly. The theater does not have all the bells and whistles that Film Alley or some of the other fancy theaters have however, it's perfect for a local outing with your family! PLUS!! Two adult tickets for $15!! Give them a try if you haven't. read more

First time here and I understand that the majority of the staff are high schoolers but there has to be some training in customer service and courteousness . Very dry greeting and had the demeanor that they didn't wanna be there at all. Seems like nobody is happy and just there so they don't get fined . Cleanliness is not a strong point here either . Seats were ok and they did lean back. Sound quality was good and the screen was basic as the lighting quality lacked. This theater has really gone downhill. Staff seem bothered to serve. The chairs in theatre 3 literally lean forward when you sit in them. The floor was soaking wet where we were going to sit down. First time here and I took the kids to the first showing of the day of Incredibles 2 on Saturday morning. The staff was fine and concessions were what you'd expect. The sound and screen were movie theater quality and there weren't any rips in the seats or anything like that. However, I took my kids to the restroom first thing (so about 4 minutes after they opened the doors). I took my 5 year old son and 4 year old daughter to the men's room and took them to a stall. The stall was filthy. It had dried urine stains from at least the day before. Oh well, men are disgusting, but when I went to wipe off the toilet seat for my daughter there was also no toilet paper. How is the restroom not cleaned and stocked for the first film of the day? Pretty disappointing as a father. This is a convenient movie theater in Forney. It is a great alternative to the AMC Mesquite 30, the drive and crowds that go along with that location. However, you do pay a little price in the form of your movie experience as a whole when you go here. The screens are a good size, the seats are comfortable enough but sometimes the sound quality is poor and tough to hear. But these things aren't the biggest issues I have with this theater... When we moved into the area this used to be a Starplex but not too long ago this theater was bought by AMC and then total chaos ensued. They got rid of the ticket window service outside and now you have to buy tickets at a kiosk or at the snack counters. You can imagine the wait for the food lines when people are buying tickets, popcorn and snacks. One time I waited over 25 minutes in line and missed the beginning of a movie. We had arrived way early but the lines were just nuts. Hey AMC corporate, I'm going to buy the same amount of snacks but let me get to see my movie instead of sending my family into the show without me. Getting to the theater, buying tickets and snacks shouldn't take as much time and effort as me doing my weekly grocery shopping...it's supposed to be relaxing right? The changes that are supposedly being made are taking way too long. However, I do like the self serve Coke fountains, these are the newer ones and have numerous flavor options. I do feel that I have to say something about the theater's cleanliness. The carpets throughout are dingy, dirty and borderline gross. I'm not sure if corporate is going to replace things anytime soon but I would suggest to them to do the carpet sooner than later. Also, I can honestly say that the workers here are very friendly and attentive. These are mostly younger kids trying to make this place work even with all of the issues they are facing. The employees are definitely the best part of this place. My Family and I have always been treated warmly and quickly by the staff...and for that add 1 star. My thought is that AMC should just build a whole new complex behind this one, it may be quicker and easier than making the needed renovations. Yeah sure AMC you can use this idea. We just moved to the area and gave the theater a chance despite the unappealing reviews. Unfortunately, our experience was consistent with the reviews- dirty, no toilet paper in women's restroom, very uncomfortable seats.... A note about the seats. One review we read mentioned reclining seats. That reviewer has apparently never been to a theater with reclining seats. The seats rock, they don't recline. Some of our seats were broken so they actually pitched forward and you had to use your bodyweight or tense your muscles to push them back far enough to be comfortable. Not very comfortable during an hour plus movie. Also, the people in front of us were on a row with the railing so they use their feet on the railing to shove their chairs back where they reclined into our laps. When we first saw this theater, its look made me think it was a dollar theater. Instead, it turned out to be a poor quality, full priced theater! read more

There was a girl with blonde hair and a nose ring here who had terrible customer service. I believe her name was Summer or Autumn or something. She was so astonishingly rude. She made such snarky comments as my husband and I were counting our coins for her. She was very impatient and rolled her eyes quite a number of times. Then she so aggressively handed us back our change. I have never felt more disrespected and I was expecting more from this amc. What a way to ruin a good Saturday night with my husband. It was $5 Tuesday at both Rockwall and Forney Movie Theaters and we live the same distance to each. It was spur of the moment decision to see Incredibles 2 and the movie times didn't work out at Rockwall, so the 2 of us decided to go to Forney. Keeping in mind we used to go to the Forney Theater all the time, because the ticket prices were cheaper then Rockwall. This is no longer true, so it has been a couple months since we've been to Forney and I'm guessing that the AMC standards is quite a bit lower for how a theater is run and maintained, then the previous corporation/brand. Big line to get tickets because only 2 kids working behind the counter to sell tickets and snacks. No more purchasing tickets out front. So if you are in a hurry - you are screwed. There is one self-serv kiosk to purchase or pickup tickets, so we went with this method. Keeping in mind that it is $5 Tuesday, there is no reduction of ticket price at the kiosk, so we purchased the Senior price tickets for about $5.20 ( we are close to Senior age, but not yet). Don't know why we bothered. There was no attendant to take tickets or point you to the theater. By this time it is about 15 mins before movie but we could not enter our theater because it was till being cleaned with one of the two high kids paying more more attention to his phone then cleaning. My wife's seat was broke so that it tried to lean her forward unless she pushed back, so that she used the seat in front of her to push against. I wondered why no one ever tried to sit in that seat in front of her because it was in the middle of the theater in what I think is one of the better locations. When leaving I noticed why... The seat cover was torn off of the seat so that the padding was exposed in a large section of the seat. Overall the theater was very dirty and way under staffed. The carpet was filthy with trash everywhere and the overall condition of the theater is terrible... I didn't even want to attempt the bathrooms. This pallet of supply's was sitting in front of our theater door which I don't think is the best place for storage. No more Forney AMC for us! read more

I am very disappointed with the standard of this theatre. The facilities are not well kept and the floors are really sticky within the cinema. Furthermore i would like to mention that I received really bad customer service by a girl with blonde hair. Her attitude was not work appropriate and she showed no extent of friendliness and enthusiasm in what she was doing. Her tone when dealing with me at the front desk was one of annoyance and it seemed as if she was bothered by completing simple tasks. Dumbest movie theater in dfw. They make you stand in line with a hundred other indecisive people buying popcorn/food even if you're just buying tickets. They used to have outside window ticket sellers & got rid of those. Used to have ticket kiosks & got rid of those. Absolutely ate up with stupidity & a waste of time, whether your solo, a couple & even worse if your standing in line wrangling a kid or 4. This theatre used to be decent. Now, it's dirty, over run by unruly teens, understaffed, and to top it off no longer Starplex. The big daddy AMC has bought this theater out. So now the prices are about to skyrocket. The large tub of popcorn is now the AMC small bag. #fail. I would imagine that since AMC has taken over there will be improvements, but that would be assuming. And we all know the saying about assuming. When my family was there in a Friday night, there was one teenager working the ticket booth. The line was 30 people deep to buy tickets. There was two teens in front of us and by the time we made our way up to the ticket booth, those two teens let 15 of their closest friends cut in front. Ugh!!! Seriously!?!? The indoor computer kiosk was broken. Figures! Only two lines were open for concessions, which made for an extremely long line. Good thing we got there early! Sheesh. As we were walking to our theater, a man walked out of his movie to complain to an employee that they had been waiting 20 minutes past movie time for their movie time to start. The employee explained the manager was working on the problem and was bringing vouchers whether they stayed or not. I immediately knew this would a hellish time. Seats are too low, theaters are small and uncomfortable. Needs reserved seating to better accommodate families. Needs better food as well. Movie theaters now have full service dining not just the traditional popcorn and other snacks. read more

What can I say that hasn't already been said by the other reviewers? Dirty, poor service, less than average quality theater concession food (not comparing it to dinner theater food), and substandard equipment that continually breaks down. Took our 5 yr old daughter to see the Snoopy movie and after waiting 15 minutes past the start time they come in and say they can't get the projector to work. No word before that. They handedout vouchers and said come back later. This was before the AMC takeover. So we go back to see Star Wars post AMC takeover and now the sound doesn't work right because they swithed some equipment before realizing the surround sound was not compatible with the existing speakers. So it wa like watching Star Wars on TV. We overheard the manager complaining she didn't get much help from the AMC people and was told they don't know how long it will take to get bugs worked out. If you just want to see a movie and don't care about the atmosphere and food then pop infor the matinee when no one is there and get lunch at one of the restaurants in the area. Otherwise make the drive to Dallas or Mesquite and do Alamo Draft House or a larger theater. read more

It's not the nicest theater, but I'm sure I could find worse if I searched hard. It's kind of a bummer that parents treat this theater like a daycare and let their kids run wild and talk loud, but what can you do. There should be stricter rules on unattended children. There's also always huge groups of teenagers that block all entrances and exits. It be nice if a employee could herd them away so that people could easily enter/exit. Oh man, this theater is not clean and kind of dumpy. The workers don't seem to care much, your feet stick to the floor, and the theaters aren't that grand. The popcorn and drink were $13 and you the popcorn was COLD! This is my first time here AND my LAST! I would not recommend this theater, it's better to watch from home. Not much to write. I thought AMC was a good company but apparently not, I normally don't complain about bad experiences but this time I decided it was worth the effort. I had sent them the following complaint and not only did they not care they told me there was nothing they could do. We won't be going back, I'll give my money to a company that appreciates it. My daughter and I went to the show in your Forney theater and after spending $20+ dollars on popcorn and cokes. The popcorn was stale and the cokes were flat. When I tried to explain to the clerks they were to busy chatting and texting to help me. I love going to the show and having movie theater popcorn but this was awful we had to throw it away. I have been going to this movie theatre for probably over 10 years now, since it was called "Starplex", and I will say it hasnt changed at all. No updates, not reclining chairs, no dine-in services. I was hoping when it officially became an AMC that the appropriate updates would follow, but all that was new was new drink machines inside. It's pretty overpriced for what you are getting. My husband and I went this week to see a movie and it was almost $40 for a popcorn, 1 bag of candy, and 2 tickets...c'mon now. Again, the theatre is pretty old and stays dirty with popcorn on the ground. Honestly, it just needs to be bulldozed down or seriously remodeled. Just old and outdated. I've been increasingly disappointed with this theater since AMC took over. The decision to close the outside ticket booths and force everyone to stand in the long concession line to buy tickets is a blatant attempt at more sales while making getting tickets very inconvenient. Of course, there is one computerized kiosk, but if you want to pay cash, too bad. So sad what's happened to this once "small town" theater. read more
