As a business owner, I understand that businesses that rely on customer service are doomed when their employees are nonchalant, unprofessional, and unnecessarily rude. There was absolutely no reason for her behavior. I almost asked for a refund for my movie. If you don't want to assist customers, why are you here? You are being paid to provide a service. However, kindness is a responsibility that belongs to all of us starting with me. I tipped people based on service more than anything. Even if the food isn't good or drinks if the service was good I am going to be honest about the food and drink but tip a person based on their service.

I understand that you may have had an equipment problem, but that's the point where a manager sends someone to Walmart to buy freakin' soda. Or at least tell people at the door and offer a refund. Don't let us sit through the first 20 minutes of the movie trying to find the sodas on your janky website. And then once we solved that and placed an order, we had both a pizza and a mixed drink that never showed up, so we spent a good deal of the movie walking out to try to find an employee (who were bogged down with a long line of other people with problems because of this awful service model. And finally, to add insult to injury, you have a hidden 18% gratuity on the check in spite of employees verbally "reminding" you to leave a tip as well as literature at the chairs saying the same. I bought tickets from a ticket kiosk downstairs, made my way up the escalator, directed myself towards the correct theater, viewed my movie, and left. Aside from a couple other movie-goers, I did not see another single soul. Not even at the concessions stand. My date jokingly asked, "Why did we even buy our tickets? There was nobody to check!" The theater itself was clean and cozy, with only 16 seats, arranged in pairs on either side of the aisle. We arrived right on time, and sat awkwardly for an extra 15 minutes in front of a blank screen. No previews or anything began until 15 minutes after the scheduled movie time. Again, a very odd experience. Not having seen any employees before, we wondered if there was even anyone to operate the theater. The movie did eventually start, and the experience was smooth sailing from there. I will say, the movie tickets and snacks were cheaper than other, absurdly priced movie theaters. (Judging from the snack listings. I didn't buy any snacks, because again. There was nobody around?) In the end, I wouldn't dissuade anyone from coming for a movie. That said, the experience getting into the theater felt a bit disorganized. It seemed like there were some unexpected issues the staff weren't fully prepared for, which delayed entry. While I understand things can happen, clearer communication while we were waiting in line would have helped set expectations and made the wait less confusing. Because of the delay, we were seated right before the movie started, so I didn't have a chance to grab popcorn or any food without risking missing the beginning of the film. Once inside, everything ran smoothly and the movie experience itself was solid.

The price points for the service and experience are aligned with the expectation; however, the restroom situation was atrocious. There always seems to be an issue--broken escalators, stagnant odors, floor fans running throughout the facility, and ordering systems that are frequently down. During my most recent visit, the system was down again. We pressed the assistance button and waited about 20 minutes before seeing our theater attendant. Our popcorn arrived quickly but was cold. Later, we requested a popcorn and soda refill, but no one responded. I eventually had to stop a waiter passing by for assistance, and by the time he returned with our refill, the movie was literally ending. What made this even more disappointing is that I'm an iPic ACCESS Gold Member. I wasn't offered my complimentary popcorn or the 10% discount on food and beverages. What's the purpose of maintaining Gold status if you're not able to enjoy the benefits that come with it? This isn't based on one bad visit. I've experienced system and service issues here on previous visits as well. This location has so much potential, but it appears to be poorly maintained and managed. iPic markets itself as a premium movie experience, and customers are paying premium prices with that expectation. As a Gold Member and repeat customer, I genuinely want to continue coming here, but the Fairview location needs significant improvement in maintenance, service, operational reliability, and consistency.
