Top/bottom curtains are cutting off the screen.
    Shane T.

This place has really gone downhill over the past decade, but it's now at an all-time low. If there weren't cars out in the parking lot I would have thought the place was abandoned because the grass was about 2ft. tall. During the movie the top/bottom curtains weren't pulled back all the way and we're blocking the screen. You couldn't read the bottom row of subtitles and the tops of everyone's heads were cut off. The AMC Board of Directors would be sick to their stomach if they saw this AMC. I'd recommend either going to YES downtown or drive up to the AMC in Southport.

Seats were uncomfortable, staff members were slow and things were unorganized. Glad we don't come here often.

If you're a vegetarian or pescetarian, your selections are limited. There are catfish things and a focaccia with veggie things on it. The onion rings are good, at about $1 per ring. The dessert was good, a blueberry-lemon cake with whipping cream. The service is really really good. They sell a lot of liquor here; we don't drink when we're driving, and we didn't sample it. Many won't be disappointed here. It's not really adventurous. The layout can handle a crowd. Prices are OK. There is music now and then. We saw good live music here, with no cover charge-- a plus. Save the music, we're not compelled to return. Others will like it a lot. It's on the ground floor of a municipal parking garage, so easy parking.

So when Gayle, Shauna, and I were looking for a place for Lunch (after listening to darling granddaughter play cello in her school's orchestra at the local high school), I immediately gravitated to the front door. The others were not so sure, but I managed to talk then into it. The interior is a bit dark (as expected) and relatively small, with tables on both side of the center bar. There's a couple TVs and at the time I enjoyed watching Iowa (Go Hawkeyes!) play in the NCAA Women's tournament. Service was friendly, albeit a little slow at times, but we had time and I enjoyed hanging out. And unlike Grandpa Rowan back then, no one was calling the bar asking my whereabouts. Unlike the Milwaukee of old, they weren't serving yellow beer, but rather really good craft brew. 2 of us went for Jack the Bum, while the other chose Diesel Oil Stout. I went full Midwest and ordered a Pork Tenderloin sandwich, which was huge and delicious. Gayle and Shauna enjoyed their beer and salads (BBQ Chicken and Salmon), starting out with Kraut Balls for the table. I'm not sure when I'll be back in Columbus Indiana, but Powerhouse is on my list.

They had a couple beers on tap - the Love Nugget and the Pink Houses were the ones I tried. Love Nugget is a nice hoppy pale ale, and Pink Houses is a hibiscus wheat. The hibiscus flavor isn't too sweet or overwhelming, which I like. Combining the two makes a very tasty summer beverage. The guys that work at the brewery are friendly and will takl to you about the brewing process and the hops they have growing outside. Pints are $5, and they had a flatbread pizza truck out for the First Friday show. There's a small indoor tap room and a patio with limited seating, so bring a chair or something if you're going for music.

It started out awkward because the menu still said "spring" at the last of the dog days of July and several beverages on the menu were "we're out". Then the "Elderberry Fizz" drink had not one fizzy bubble! We asked and they said that despite the name, the drink is flat. Huh? The Taxman beer was nice and the carbonation was just right. On to the food ... happy to find that the grilled cheese which is on local sourdough bread and stuffed with a nice amount of spinach could be ordered without bell peppers. It came with choice of side and she chose "Indiana mustard potato salad". Since she is from Indiana thought it funny that which part was "Indiana". I ordered the fish tacos small plate. The chef came out in person to make sure that fresh ahi grade tuna was ok (!) because so many people assume that tacos would have fried fish. He also guaranteed that not a bell pepper would be in site. We were sitting outside on their extensive patio and the beautiful food came out. We could not believe our luck. The $10 tacos were gorgeous and delicious, a bit spicy. The grilled cheese was more than the ordinary. The potato salad was quite good and a little sweet. If we lived in Columbus we would want to know about this great deal - a nice different meal for a Friday night or something.

She took the time to let us know about the history, the quality of the local-sourced food, her personal recommendations for beer and food. She was exactly what we love about trying a new brewery and sitting at the bar. She let us try a few samples and we found some pretty good brews. These are lighter than our personal preference in craft brews, but they were delicious. The food was amazing. My husband had the burger and I had the Caesar salad. Very good!!!! The overall vibe of the brewery combines elements of history with the pride of keeping things fresh and modern. It's a really nice balance. The brewery is situated right on the river and once the boardwalk and construction is done, it's going to be beautiful!!!! It's still beautiful and the construction didn't affect us at all, but it's an exciting project that Sally told us about. Highly recommend stopping here for some food and drinks. The building sits on the banks of Driftwood River (now called East Fork White River) and offers spectacular views of the famous Robert N. Stewart Bridge in Columbus, Indiana. Upland Brewing Company is a local brewery that started in Bloomington, Indiana in 1998. Now, they have a number of popular restaurants/pubs across Indiana. The building, built in 1871, served as the Pump House supplying water to the city of Columbus, Indiana. The Pump House faced financial, water and quality challenges over the years, but was instrumental in industrial growth of the city. The Pump House operated until 1950, when the city moved to well water. The Pump House served a number of businesses and organizations since 1950. Upland opened the pub in 2016. We were greeted and promptly seated in the bar when we entered. Our server/bartender, Jess, was attentive and friendly. Several other servers also engaged with us, as well. One brought me a fascinating pamphlet describing the history of the building because I was curious. We arrived in time to sample their 3:00 - 5:00 pm Happy Hour. (I love a good Happy Hour.) We ordered Dragonfly IPAs, which went down smooth on a hot summer day. We also enjoyed a couple of sliders from the Happy Hour menu. The Bad Elmer's Fav burger was good with lots of bacon but my favorite was the Hoosier Tenderloin. I should note that much of the food is locally sourced. The building has a large dining room, bar, private dining, private event room, and a fabulous patio with river views. The landscaping is gorgeous. Their signature beers are available for purchase to go along with the logo shirt and a few other logo items. I highly recommend a visit. The food and beer are first class. The setting is lovely and service is attentive.
