Was in town visiting my partners sister! We had his 14 year old niece with us!! With there being little to nothing to do in Champaign we opted to go to the movies! We saw Dungeons and dragons, highly recommend even if you don't know anything about the game! Lines were a bit confusing, ticket line and concessions are the same line. So essentially you buy your tickets and popcorn at the same time. Less card swiping, but lingers wait times! The popcorn station is pretty cool! The guy behind the counter was very nice and funny, he even helped me out and only filled my popcorn half way so I could put some extra butter on it, then filled the rest!! A true gem! I was surprised to see how much security there was, we're from Chicago and don't even have that many!! The main theater is HUGE!! Very impressive! Bathrooms were clean and stocked. Movie volume was perfect. I hate when you go to the movies and your eardrums are going to burst! The only sad part was the concessions was closed by the time we got out of the movie!! Okay, my old review was when it was still Carmike. Eight years later and it's now AMC, but still the best in town. The theaters are cleaner and seats are generally in much better condition here than across town. Popcorn is heaps better here too, plus more food options. The ticket + concessions line here can be really annoying at peak times though, and that's the one thing I don't like about this location. AMC needs to get some self-serve kiosks for tickets here to speed that up. read more

I really like this theater! I live about an hour away and sometimes I'll come here instead of my local AMC. This theater has more snack options and more screens, including different kinds of screens. The biggest reason I like coming here more is the comfortable seats! All staff I've interacted with here have always been kind and helpful. The food is good and everything always seems clean. I've been to this AMC a few times now and I try to avoid it. They are just too expensive all the way around. And I find it not very well maintained. I'm not sure if they're understaffed or what, but the place always seems messy. If I can, I generally go to the theater in Savoy instead. Dirty!! Attended the 10am showing in the Big D twice in the past few months and it has been dirty. Popcorn on the floor, empty drinks containers in the cup holders, and trash on the floor. This show is the first show of the day in those theaters, why is it not getting cleaned? This theater is descending back into the same issues it had when the Beverly was in this location. read more

I really do enjoy this theater. We visit at least once a month and have yet to be disappointed. 4/5 because I'd really like to see the concession stand separated from the ticket counter. Buying tickets in advance through the AMC app is really pointless if you still have to wait in the same line as everyone else to get concessions when you arrive. I suppose the app is most useful if you think a show is going to sell-out. Just something for the company to think about down the road. read more

AMC Champaign 13 Cinema does not take it's A-List Membership Program seriously. Yes, you do get a free ticket, but whenever there are more than a few people waiting in line, A-List members no longer receive the priority and premium service that they were promised. So, if you are running slightly late, and it is a busy night at AMC, then you just might miss the start of the movie you want to see. Which would not have happened if they had delivered the priority service to you that is promised under the A-List Membership Program. If they are going to charge you a monthly subscription amount for priority and premium service, then they should deliver priority and premium service. read more

The video and sound quality of the movies is good. I've had a few issues here with movies not being started when they're supposed to or with the sound being off (someone less patient than me usually went out to complain and then the problem was fixed fairly quickly). Popcorn always tastes good and fresh, but the prices here seem much higher than Goodrich in Savoy. Food wise, I really enjoy the flat breads, especially the BBQ chicken one. The Bavarian Legend is MASSIVE (pictured) and probably my favorite thing on the menu. Do NOT buy the Mac and cheese. VERY small and expensive portion that couldn't feed a toddler and tastes like it's been vacuum sealed in a freezer for months. read more

This is absolutely ridiculous!! The day of a major Marvel movie and there are three, yes you read correctly, 3 registers open for tickets and a line out the door. This makes no sense. I arrived 3 hours early to purchase tickets and the wait time has to be at least 45 minutes to get a ticket. The management should be fired UPDATE: I returned a month ago and the service is set up is STILL TERRIBLE! Concessions and tickets are in the same line. The oil, I mean butter for the popcorn is across the room. I like popcorn, butter, then popcorn. You have to walk over to get the butter-oil and then return for the cashier who is handling money to fill up your popcorn. I asked him to put on a glove or wash his hands. He complied and found a glove, said he understood, and shared that my other comments were hilarious (I had plenty to say). I was being serious about this work-a-theatre, and noted how I was getting my steps in simply trying to get some popcorn. This setup is the full blown, actual, awful pits! Who came up with this? Who walks in as the manager, and says, yes, this is a great system - we're doing an amazing job? No one! read more

I recently double dated with my fiance here to see Resident Evil in the Big D. We typically don't go to this location because it's father from our home and I personally didn't like the lay out before more of the remodels. Since we came I found that they expanded their restrooms and the theaters are spacious. The Big D was enormous and had plenty of room to people hold 500 people. When you purchase your ticket you can also buy your foods and snacks at the same time which is nice since the Savoy 16 makes you do 2 separate transactions for tickets and food items. They also serve alcohol if you want to get a drink or two. While you wait to be seated you can watch the television screens that show each movie and let you know if you can be seated or if you need to wait in the lobby. Ultimately a great 1st impression since the remodel. read more

We took our grandchildren to see "Clifford the Big Red Dog" at AMC13. Tickets were reasonable, 2 large popcorn and 4 drinks cost $50. We followed the big dog tracks to the theater with the Clifford poster on it. After watching 45 minutes of previews, we realized we were in the wrong theater. Worst movie experience ever! read more

I absolutely love this theatre since it's been remodeled! Always our first choice when it comes to a movie theater in central Illinois!! Last Saturday, I took my three children (9, 8, and 1) and two of their friends to see Storks. We purchased our tickets beforehand through Fandango to save time. Of course, we hit the concession stand before heading to our movie. The staff at the concession stand were friendly and patient (a somewhat challenging demeanor to maintain when waiting on four children each with their own spending money)... My youngest child only made it through the previews and wanted nothing to do with the movie. To be courteous to everyone else in the theatre, I took my daughter right outside our theatre. This is pretty much where we remained throughout most of the movie. An employee (I'm assuming he was a Manager based on his attire) walked by us a few times throughout the movie. Prior to the movie ending, he approached me and handed me an "Admit One" ticket for free admission to a future movie! The best part is I can use it for a future movie of MY choice!! :-D All around another great experience at The Beverly! read more

My girlfriend and I love going to the movies, like really LOVE going. It's a near-weekly ritual for us to check and the movie times and trek on over to Carmike. The theater is incredibly nice and modern with seats that are actually spacious and comfortable. It makes for a great movie going experience. You can can get alcohol if you so choose and virtually any type of soda with their Coca Cola Freestyle machines. The best part? You get to put your own butter on the popcorn! For me, I'm a sucker for movie theater popcorn, I'll down a whole large myself without batting an eye. And you know that popcorn is doused in butter, as much as I want. Every. Single. Time. Enough about the popcorn. This place is great, the best in the area. We'll be here (almost) every weekend for a long time to come. read more

We purchased reserved seat tickets online so we wouldn't have to arrive so early to get a good seat, yet when we arrived there was a huge _single_ line for both ticket purchases and food that we had to wait through. Why aren't there separate lines for each or at least some kiosks for ticket purchases? Also no Apple Pay; not even any chip readers. Perhaps they're going through an upgrade? There are no lighted aisle or seat numbers so I imagine it can be quite difficult to find your seat in the dark. After returning from the bathroom it was difficult to find my way back to the correct theater as the name of the movie on the marquee is only displayed on one side. How did this get overlooked? The volume of the movie we saw (Knives Out) was also so quiet that some dialogue required straining to comprehend and we were hesitant to eat any popcorn lest the chewing prevent our viewing neighbors from missing any important audio. On the plus side, they do have a self-serve drink machine with several options. I'll stick with the GQT in Savoy; maybe some day the AMC Champaign can get its act together. read more

Name of this review: Attack of the fly.... First thing I always hear is how better this theater is compared to what it once was before the remodel. Which I totally agree with, for I avoided this place before the remodel. 2nd thing I always hear about how you can buy alcohol there. That's a nice touch, even though you could just buy the alcohol cheaper at Walmart or Meijer & sneak it in. Oh yeah, can't forget about how you now can put as much fake butter on your over priced bucket of popcorn as you want. All of these extra touches are nice but what good is it if the picture is slightly out of focus? Sound was good but not as good as the other theater across town. With the other theater, you can feel the sound waves hit you. The sound system seems like they just their old equipment from before the remodel & not improved it at all. Saw the Dark Phoenix movie in "Big D" Friday afternoon. For a theater hyping itself as Big Digital the picture was off, sound seemed flat and had to deal with the attack of the fly..... There was a fly in the projection booth. Which kept crawling on the lense which of course showed up on the screen bigger than life. Quite distracting. Was kind of hoping the Phoenix would have ate the fly.. lol read more

This is a nice place to watch all the new releases!! They also have some international releases and some indies. You have to buy your tickets at the concessions stand. Also they give you option to put your butter where you want in your popcorn. Seating is nice and comfortable. We enjoyed "INSIDE OUT!" Will be coming for more again. read more

Nice venue with a good IMAX (Big D... ha) and gives you some self-serve freedom for snacks/drinks. Unfortunately, they don't always play critically acclaimed movies and instead opt to keep blockbusters up for longer than usual. I have never seen such a poor system for selling tickets and concessions. There are two queues: one for special customers, and another for everyone else. As long as there are people in the special queue they get waited on, and nobody from the other queue gets waited on. My daughter and I were there 20 minutes and we were fourth in line when we arrived. After 10 minutes we were still fourth in line. Only two registers were open, you have to get in the same line for concessions. I had my daughter check show times at the other theatre in town. We left AMC, drove across town, and it took one minute to get our tickets, and another minute to get our popcorn. We would have still been in line at AMC. I will never go back there again. read more

When we went into the show it was empty accept that there was trash every where. Went out to find a manager to see if they could clean the theater before the movie could start. There were 7 outside cleaning the lobby. I'm going to start going to savoy 16 never had a problem out there. read more

They just changed their "food menu" today and I forgot to buy eclipse glasses so after my pinhole machine failed me I said duck it I am gonna go see Dunkirk. Anyways, new pretzels bites are pretty flame with the voodoo ranger IPA I am slugging down bc I accidentally got here twenty minutes early. Only one in here right now so that i/ why I selfishly raised it from three to four stars. The kids working are nice too. Service for the most part is good, and the theaters are spacious and clean. Food options galore. What sets this theater apart from the Peoria location is its glitzy silver front area next to the lobby. Also, they give you the option of picking out which seats to choose. Why anyone in their right mind would go to this theater is beyond me. The ONLY reason I went was because I was given a gift card- more on that... 1. STUPID ticket line- tickets and food in same line- dumb. 2. 20 minute wait for ONE ticket, on a Tuesday... in December. 3. Lack of show times- I would prefer late movies *less chance of seeing students. The last show was at 7:45- whaaat? 4. EXTREMELY over priced. $18.75 get's you ONE ticket (*regular movie, NOT 3D or "lux" seating...or anything) and a CHILD Combo- small popcorn/small drink/fruit snacks- This was really small- gone before the movie started. I can't imagine paying for a family. (*AND you still had to serve yourself- soda, butter on popcorn...etc.) 5. The "choose your seat thing"- okay fine- if it's opening night on a huge blockbuster...but a Tues? Um no... and personal space is a real thing people- WHOLE row was empty- Just me... and you sat in the seat RIGHT NEXT TO ME? Just because it was your "assigned seat"? seriously? ugggh. 6. Chair backs barely come up to shoulders. No leaning your head back. No isle breaks either- I had the 2 idiots who sat RIGHT next to me on my right- and a mouth breather and sister sneezer a few seats down on my left. That's it. I couldn't get out of the row if I needed to. 7. I enjoy sitting in the last row of the front section "floor seats"- (not stadium seats) Couple reasons- Nobody kicking my seat from behind- better to "immerse in the movie" and it's usually less crowded. These are jammed really close to the screen- You HAVE to sit in the stadium seats among the heathens ... you really don't have a choice. Stupid design. 8. I love going to the movies. I go at least 3x's a month- I'll never go back here... 9. I got a $25 gift card... It still has $6.25 on it.. any takers? That's how much I hated this experience- I'm willing to give away free money. *Note- you can't buy anything for that price here. Ha. read more

The remodel really saved this place! It was pretty awful before. The individual theaters are nice. The seats are very comfortable and there is plenty of leg room. The rest rooms are always clean and well maintained. They now serve alcohol, which is pretty cool. The choices are very slim and not that great. The prices are fantastic considering you can get a beer for the same price as a large soda. The Big D experience left much to be desired. I didn't feel it was worth $18, but I have friends who disagree. read more

I hated coming to the carmike before they rebuilt. It was dark, dingy, small seats in some theaters and the bathrooms were gross. Now I love to come here. You can come early and have a drink. There is a nice seating area to enjoy the drinks or just hang out with friends until the movie starts. The seats in the theaters are really nice and comfy. They rock and all the arms go up and down. They have great seating for handicap people. I love the new popcorn station and all the pop stations. I have been in the big D twice and it's really great. Neither movie was 3D but it was still awesome! Definitely enjoy this theatre! read more

I have been here multiple times but always buy my tickets beforehand because I wanted to make sure I had a seat for big movies like endgame. I care in today to see it chapter 2 and waited in line for 30 minutes to buy tickets because they mix concessions and ticket sales together and do not have self pay ticket booth which is unheard of even the cheaper little theater in savoy has those. No one wants to have to get to the theater over an hour early to purchase tickets. I was here early and still had to wait and the building was blocking my cell service so I could not purchase tickets on fandango while in line. While waiting 39 minutes the seat I waited was gone literally the moment I got to the front of the line so I had to purchase tickets for the next show because of the seat knowing I wouldn't enjoy my experience and the fact that's would have missed the previews which are one of the best parts of going to the movies. Throughly disappointed in this amc. They seriously need to update they way the sell tickets and food. UPDATE: I went back bc I live 10 minutes away. I went to see good boys and they forgot to start the movies. Literally we waited about 30 minutes before they can in and skipped the previews to start the movie. Very disappointed! This has been my preferred movie theater for years. The company I work for has a rewards program that gives its employees Fandango movie tickets. In the past I have been able to use these passes. Granted these tickets need to be hand typed into their system. But they have been usable. Last night I was turned away. The manager said they had a new system, but I think they were just busy and turned us away, I have myself and two sons who certainly would have purchased our fair share of snacks. We were not rude or disrespectful. We were just customers with movie passes. I can't believe any business would turn any customer away. We rushed across to town to their competitor, Savoy 16. The manager their was very helpful. Got us in to see our movie. As stated this has been our preferred theater. Have gone here religiously. That ended last night. Turn a customer away once you may as well turn him away forever. read more
