The guy behind the counter was very nice and funny, he even helped me out and only filled my popcorn half way so I could put some extra butter on it, then filled the rest!! A true gem! I was surprised to see how much security there was, we're from Chicago and don't even have that many!! The main theater is HUGE!! Very impressive! Bathrooms were clean and stocked. Movie volume was perfect. I hate when you go to the movies and your eardrums are going to burst! The only sad part was the concessions was closed by the time we got out of the movie!! I get it, workers wanted to go home but my partners niece really wanted to take some popcorn home!

Yay! What isn't there to love about a planetarium? (unless you're prone to motion sickness :-P) We visited at 9pm on a Saturday night for one of their Pink Floyd shows. The young woman selling tickets was very friendly, as was the gentleman (i assume a member of Parkland's faculty) who took our tickets and introduced the show. There were about a dozen other people of all ages in the dome with us. Plenty of seating. Show lasted an hour. Honestly, this is the best $6 you'll spend in the entire county. Talk about a great family friendly, friends or date night out, students, scout troops and more! Appropriate for those aged 1-101. My husband and I would like to see all of the shows they're offering throughout 2018 You can save $3 if you buy tickets to 2 back-to-back shows (total $9 per person). I think we'll do this next time. Facility was very clean and well-maintained. Big parking lot next to the planetarium. Three different shows are offered on Friday & Saturday night at 7pm, 8pm & 9pm; matinees offered during week beginning in June. Check Parkland's website for exact show titles. This museum is both larger and nicer than many museums that have paid admission around Illinois, and also feature some interactive components as well. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the Champaign area as a fun place to spend an afternoon learning. This is also a great spot to visit if you're looking for something to do while dining nearby, or to spend inside on a hot summer day.

There were lots of times when you couldn't see anything or when it was totally strobing lights. There were also live actors during this time who would get very close to you and speak in your ear. However, when we reached the end and walked outside we were followed by one of the actors who basically verbally assaulted us and cussed us out because he felt like one of us punched him in the face. The manager looked on and didn't stop the actor. This was really unprofessional. We moved to the parking lot to chat as a group, shortly after two of their staff came to our car and asked us in a pretty angry way to leave the facility. What was a great experience and memory which was definitely ruined by their poor handling of this situation. I won't be recommending this place to others.

It is so good to have an event center here in Champaign, IL like the City Center, Space can be rented out as well for other events.

The bands who performed were Cold, Awake for Days, and University Drive. This was my first time attending a show here. I drove from out of town about an hour to get to this place. I used the map on the City Center's website to find the venue and the venue's parking. The map was easy to read and helped me find the place very easily. Very easy parking. I would consider this a medium size venue. It's larger than a small bar but smaller than a larger arena. It is small enough to still get that intimate experience at a concert. If you want to be as close to the stage as possible, be sure to purchase the "Party Pit" ticket. There is a barrier in between the Party Pit and the General Admission. I went with the Party Pit ticket to get as close to the stage as possible. The sound system sounded great for all three bands. The bar is good size and the service provided was good. No complaints at all. They also have some upper balcony seating, but I did not venture into that location so am unable to comment on it. December 1, 2019: I attended the Static-X Wisconsin Death Trip 20 Year Anniversary tour. Bands that performed were Static-X, Dope, Mushroomhead, Wednesday 13, and Raven Black. There were some sound system issues while 2 of the bands performed. The band members became a bit upset, but the venue/sound guys resolved them pretty fast. Rest of the show the sound was great. General Comments: The venue does a nice job of bringing in a variety of different music. Strengths include the size of the place. It is not too big and not too small. Nice bar that is well stocked (satisfied my IPA desires) and it provides good service. Great stage with a nice sound system. Security staff was very down to earth and accommodating. Areas that could be improved: While I never had to wait that long for the bathroom, the bathrooms are not that big for the amount of people that attend shows. Larger bathrooms would be nice to reduce wait time. Serving food during the shows would be a nice add as well. I'll definitely be back to future shows here.
