A really nice relatively new venue. Perfect for our wedding and reception that we had here. Beautiful large open spaces. We had one area that they used for the service that was really pretty looked out onto the farmland. Lots of wood and white. Made for a beautiful atmosphere. And then the other building in the back where we had the reception was excellent lots of space for tables a Dj picture place and two bars. Bartenders were great and served us well and the food was very good. A lot of great picture places with their fountains and ponds. Lots of pretty locations where people can go around and take pictures beyond just the wedding party. Just individuals and couples taking pictures with the beautiful surroundings. read more

Went to a wedding here last weekend and the whole even was perfect. The staff at Pear Tree is phenomenal and kind. They worked hard and quick! The filet mignon was some of the best I've ever had. Their cocktails, especially the red sangria, were made nicely and didn't skimp on the alcohol. The venue was beautiful, clean, and kept cool even with the 100 degrees weather. read more

My cousin just got married and the reception was at Pear Tree Estate. As of June, 2014, this place is only a few months old. It's a really excellent venue. Very large with high wood beam ceilings and lots of room to dine and dance. The servers were very quick to swoop in and pick up any used glasses and plates. (They did hijack my knife, which would have come in handy when the meat arrived.) The wedding feast included pork tenderloin and chicken breasts. Both were good, if not outstanding. My girlfriend raved about the salad, with its strawberries, goat cheese, candied pecans and white balsamic dressing. If you're having an event here, make sure to get the grilled cheese hors d' oeuvres. Maybe the best thing I've ever tasted at a wedding. The venue is beautiful but I have two criticisms. 1) The walls are all white, which makes for a very boring background for photos. There's a cool fireplace, but other than that, you may as well be taking passport photos. 2) The venue's big, flat, empty walls create something of an echo chamber. It was really hard to understand anything that was being said into the microphones. That said, if I knew someone getting hitched and having their reception at Pear Tree Estate, I'd be jazzed to go back. read more

Landmark Review: We had our department christmas party here and it was not what I expected in the middle of the country. The only major negative thing to speak of is the poorly lit sign on the country road where traffic is moving at 60 mph. People are tailing you as you are trying to find the entrance to this venue. In addition the parking lot is poorly lit and very hard to figure out where the parking spots are, however once you are inside you are greeted with a very large christmas tree and fire place. They spent a lot of time and detail furnishing the place to look like a first class hotel in Chicago. The staff was pleasant and the food they served for the event was great. The sliced apple, blue cheese, walnut salad was simply divine. We also had a honey glazed salmon and grilled chicken along with a few sides. Food was cooked well, flavorful and not overdone which is often the problem with large venues. The open bar was not bad. If you want to plan a wedding or an event this is the place to visit! read more

The Pear Tree Estate was very important to the success of our wedding experience. Highlights: - The AMAZING food. We were actually very averse to having chicken at our wedding, but their brined/smoked chicken was the unquestionable favorite of the guests. We also recommend the cornbread and goat cheese pasta. - The professionalism of the women who run Pear Tree. They responded quickly in the final weeks of planning and were accommodating in our adjustments in the last few days. - We felt very taken care of as the bride and groom. They brought us a plate of appetizers after the cocktail hour had concluded and brought us a drink when the bar had closed. - The venue was well acquainted with vendors in the wedding industry from the surrounding area. Their recommendations turned out very well, and the communication between the Pear Tree and the vendors was key. - The landscape was beautiful. Somehow, they arranged for our wedding day to have perfect weather as well :) Critique: There's only one. The amount of food distributed to the guests was a bit overwhelming. My wife and I had our wedding reception at Pear Tree in August of 2017. If you are looking to host a wedding reception, or any event worthy of a 5 star venue in Central Illinois, Pear Tree Estate is the venue you want to book. From the first day when we met with the management team, we knew we would be in good hands. The team is extremely professional and even though they have an event every weekend, they make it seem like your event is the only one they are working on. Throughout the year of planning, the management team was excellent at communicating whether it was by phone or email. I never waited more than an hour for a response. Special thanks to Shaina and Haley. One thing that really stands out at this venue for the guests is the food. Wow, I could not believe how many compliments I received on the filet and the sides. At first, I was worried about family style service (they also have individual plates) since I have seen it handled poorly in the past, but they had a team of servers that came out of the kitchen at one time. I was shocked at how amazing the service was. I would highly recommend going with the family style service vs individual plates at pear tree. This is the same recommendation we received from the managers when we first met. Bottom Line - Do not look any further and choose Pear Tree for a perfect event. read more

We have attended several events at Pear Tree. Where do I start?? I'll start with an overview. The parking is always very simple, it's very easy to find the entrance, and the entire venue is very welcoming. The restrooms are immaculate, and each server is happy to help you hang your coat and enjoy the event. The experience. The experience when we enter Pear Tree is difficult to explain. Each event was so wonderful and unique! One time it was a romantic candlelit wedding outside easing into a celebration of love with such craveable food! The kind you think about for days. One time it was a jolly celebration of a very important person's birthday. There were food stations all over specifically geared to the person of honor. When you enter Pear Tree, the mood is immediately set by the decor of the entryway and the people welcoming you. Every event is different, and every host has made it uniquely theirs. I was a guest at a wedding at Pear Tree in November 2014. Yeah, I'm a little late on the review! I've never reviewed a wedding venue before, so just know I was quite motivated to give this place props. In the last 3 years, I have been to an average of 3 weddings per year and the wedding at Pear Tree definitely stands out not only because of the beautiful location, but because the staff and food were excellent as well. Absolutely, without a doubt, the BEST wedding food I have ever had. I work in event planning and I have had a lot of catered food - this blows everything else out of the water! Compared to other venues at this level in the area, I believe Pear Tree has the best amenities. Maybe not the best location, as it was HARD to get a cab to pick us up (however Uber is now in Champaign so that probably helps!), but in all other ways it goes above and beyond. If you are looking for a venue that is not stuffy like a country club or overdone like a hotel, Pear Tree is for you. The couple also stayed in the house that can be rented on the property and I was able to see that was a lovely space as well. Very convenient for getting ready and of course beautiful location around the property for photos. My only slight complaint about it is because the room is SO big, you really need a TON of people to make it feel full. If you're looking to have a smaller wedding/event, I don't think this is the space for you. The setup of the wedding I attended had two bars on each end, with the dance floor and head table in the middle. While it was nice that the couple didn't have to have the head table broken down for room to dance as I have seen a lot, this meant that people crowded around the bars all night rather than danced on the dance floor. Yes, we were dancing by the bar, but I felt bad for the DJ and the wedding party - it looked like no one was dancing. I think this could be fixed just by reorganizing the floor plan. Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend Pear Tree Estate. read more

I was here over the weekend for my brother's wedding. It could not have been more perfect! My mom has been to a lot of weddings her day but says this was by far the best food she's ever had at a wedding reception! And I agree the dinner was AMAZING. read more

This venue is really pretty. I was here for an award ceremony. The exposed wood on the ceiling and simplistic chandelier really gave this venue a romantic feeling. I feel like it would be easy to really make this place your own with decorations. The fountain on the outside was also a nice touch. I am unsure about pricing since I was a guest. read more

I attended a wedding ceremony/reception a couple of weeks ago at Pear Tree. The facility is beautiful. The landscaping was perfect. The windows were gleaming. The ceremony took place on an outdoor terrace with a small pond and green fields as a backdrop. It was really lovely. The passed-appetizers were good. The drinks were served quickly. But that's where most of the compliments end. Although the salad was tasty, the beef was well-done and difficult to cut, much less chew. The smashed potatoes were cold. The "airline chicken" was the only highlight. The stem-on carrots were undercooked and hard. Beware smokers: Pear Tree Estate is NOT smoker friendly. Guest were greeted at the door by two large signs stating "No smoking on property". Several friends were accosted by the Smoking Police and reminded of the policy. Smokers seemed to congregate near cars in the parking lot. My daughter and I considered Pear Tree for her wedding reception recently. I'm happy we choose another venue with beauiful scenery, excellent food and a welcoming staff. Wedding memories last a lifetime. Pear Tree Estate dropped the ball when it came to this couple's reception. read more

Pear Tree's catering division, LA Gourmet, catered our wedding on 4/23/2016. The reception was at another venue, but Pear Tree / LA Gourmet took care of the food. Simply put, it was the best food I've ever had at a wedding - and I've probably attended 30-40 weddings in my lifetime. We had filet mignon, salmon, au gratin potatoes, asparagus, an incredible salad, and a variety of awesome dinner rolls/breads. Our guests were blown away and talked about the food all night. We'll be doing my daughter's wedding at the Pear Tree and, of course, having them take care of all the food. The owners, Lauren and Annie, are professional, classy, and very charming ladies. If you're looking for a super-nice venue, Pear Tree is a great choice. If you're looking for catering, LA Gourmet is the best I've ever experienced, hands down. read more

We are SO glad we chose Pear Tree for our wedding ceremony and reception. The PTE team was professional, kind and passionate and we loved working with them. They made long distance planning easy and efficient. We were so impressed with every aspect of the wedding and appreciated the attention to detail. The catering was exceptional. Many guests told us this was the best wedding food they have ever had. We also got many compliments on the signature drinks. The venue was the most beautiful and perfect place to celebrate our love with close family and friends. The property is simply stunning and a perfect place for a Midwest wedding. The bridesmaids and I adored getting ready in the Concorde Room. The PTE team (especially Annie, Ally & Caitlin) was so calm and helpful and made a potentially overwhelming process and event go so smoothly and wonderfully.
