Absolutely the cutest farm I've ever seen. A group of us went for the goat hike (so unique right?!)…read moreand loved it! Our tour guides were the sweetest people and so knowledgeable about the goats and the farmland. A drink ( alcoholic or nonalcoholic up to $12) is included in the price of the goat hike ticket. They also have a cute gift shop where they're selling goat cheese, goat gelato etc. We didn't try the restaurant this time, but we will be back! I recommend checking this place out if you're in the area even though it's a little out of the way in the countryside!

I think I've seen 1 billboard in Champaign / Urbana for here.. maybe. But, a coworker of mine suggested I go and thank goodness she did. The food here is so delish. We got the chef tasting and wine pairing. 5 courses + 5 wines. The muscles we were served for the entree were the star of the show; Especially the sauce they were served in - killer. It's not particularly "fancy" inside, given you're on a farm. But, it is cute and clean. Do be weary when ordering because our bill came to just under $300 for 2 with the tasting menu. There are many other cheaper options on the menu and their menu is clearly priced online so there are no blindsides. This is a great place to go for a birthday dinner or celebration. You will enjoy the food (and the goats)

Landmark Review: This is a great place to bring your kids…read morewhich rivals Lamb's Farm up in Libertyville. In some ways it is even better. Well kept, clean, and lots of up close experience with animals. This is owned by Champaign Park district. It has a petting zoo with lambs, donkey, and small goat which you can visit from 3-5 pm everyday. Otherwise you can see horses, pigs, peacock, chickens, and even turtles. There is a small playground area off to the side that little ones will like. All and all fun for little kids and best of all free! Donations accepted to help feed the animal if you feel incline. I really have no idea what category to put this in. It's kind of like a zoo but in farm form. As…read morefar as I know, this used to be an actual farm but got changed into a farm zoo of sorts when the area started to develop. Basically this establishment is run by the Champaign Park District. They're open in the summer for families to stop and see farm life (horses, sheep, llamas, ponies, cows, geese, goats, pigs, bulls, chicken, koi fish, turtles, bunnies). They even have a petting zoo and little playground for the kiddos. The petting zoo is only open from 3-5 pm though. It's not that big but neither is Champaign. When I went last (many, many years ago) it was free and accepted donations. They also doa summer program for kids who learn how to run a farm and help take care of the animals. I did this for a few years when I was a child and it was really, really fun.... Except for when you had to feed the bulls and you felt like you were walking to your death, clinging that hay to your chest while the volunteer leaders assured you it was okay but just make sure not to run away or make any sudden movements... Make sure to bring close-toed shoes, the won't let you in without them. This place may have changed SIGNIFICANTLY since I've been there last (which was in the 90's..) but I remember it being a wonderful summer spot as a kid.

We were planning on doing something else, but decided to stay in the C-U area so we didn't get to the market until 11:30, they close at noon. Some vendors were packing up and some sold most of their goods. Since we weren't planning on going to the farmer's market, I had already purchased a bunch of produce and meat for her at Whole Foods. I wish I hadn't. The produce at this market looked so good. They had good amount of produce and meat vendors. Prices seemed very reasonable. They had vendors that sold baked goods, jewelry, bags, soap, etc. The downside for students is the distance from campus and hours. I told my daughter she should coax a friend with a car to go with her. We were hungry and decided to check out a food truck. I don't know if there are usually more food trucks, but there were only 2 when we were there. The home football game may have effected the number of trucks. We chose Piato. I opted to try the farmers breakfast sandwich and my daughter tried the Carolina pulled pork sandwich. She wanted biscuits and gravy, but the ran out of biscuits. I enjoyed my sandwich. It was on sourdough bread, fried egg, cheddar and sausage. I liked it wasn't greasy. My daughter enjoyed the pulled pork. She even liked the cole slaw that came on top of the sandwich. She chose the bourbon sugar bbq sauce and said it was really good. We also got a fresh squeezed lemonade. We didn't enjoy that as much. We think it may have been sweetened with stevia. It had a weird aftertaste which is why we think it wasn't sugar. We don't like stevia. All in all, would definitely eat here again. Reasonable prices and friendly service!

We were able to use the house to get ready and keep our personal items, and he was quick to respond to any questions or concerns. When the big moment arrived, guests were in awe at the beauty of the chapel area and reception room. The service was impeccable, and when guests spilled or created a mess, Dan himself responded immediately to keep the area clean, safe, and presentable. We had a beautiful moment after the dancing started... Dan opened the large back doors to reveal the sunsetting over the fields, and there was a collective "wow" by all the guests. Over the course of the afternoon and evening, we had guests taking pictures on the property, playing bags in the field, enjoying drinks on the grounds, eating, and dancing. Not one guest had a negative comment. Everything was absolutely perfect! Thank you Dan and Hudson Farm staff for making this day everything my family hoped it would be. I can't wait to get the pictures and relive this precious moment at this beautiful farm again.

The facility is very clean and spacious with high ceilings, and they have it beautifully set up with nice lighting. There was plenty of room for our buffet, table seating for everyone to sit down for dinner, the 360 photo booth that we rented, the bar, and the dance floor. Though everything inside the reception barn is picture perfect, when Dan opened the barn door at about 7:00 pm, all of the guests were blown away. We had a perfect evening with pleasant temperatures and a gorgeous sunset, and it became and indoor / outdoor event in a beautiful pastoral setting. The graduates and their families had such a fantastic time in a unique setting that made for a night we will never forget. Dan was so easy to work with and he and his staff worked so hard behind the bar to provide excellent service. Highest praise for Hudson Farms - its a gem. You will not be disappointed.
