We had excellent service, the dining room is a good size, decently lit, and not too loud. The menu has a good selection of items, including a couple of things that a vegetarian could make a decent meal from. The chocolate cake is excellent. Unfortunately, my salmon was dry, but two others at our table had the same dish and said it was good, so that might've been just a slip-up. My husband had the grouper and said he could eat it every day for the rest of his life.

It is not unusual to see a collegiate athlete or two walking through the lobby. Several car charging ports in the large parking lot. Of all the hotels in the area, if you're looking for clean and spacious, this is it. We had 6 rooms…read moreand only one had a few stray strands of hair left over from previous guest in the bathroom tub. Otherwise, rooms were clean and impeccable. Service was fantastic. They initially gave me a room with no bed (likely the living room area for a suite) and they immediately fixed the problem. Once I got into my room, it was relaxing and wonderful. The king rooms have a walk in shower and the twin queen bed rooms have a bathtub/shower combo. I mention this as those traveling with kids might prefer the tub option. Every room has a mini fridge. Traveling with little ones here is nice because they can offer a microwave in your room if requested. Made a big difference for us traveling with a young one. The gym is small but they do have a peloton bike among other equipment like free weights and other cardio equipment. Complimentary breakfast has warm savory options like egg burritos both with and without meat. They also offer oatmeal, fruit, yogurt and bagels with plenty of refreshments. Parking is free and easy to find. There's also a complimentary shuttle to take you to places on campus if you have no car. There are also bikes at the hotel to get around. All in all, we enjoyed our stay as did our guests for graduation.

The caters communication was good 2 weeks prior to the event, trying to contact them anytime before that was pretty impossible. Not a good thing when planning from out of town. Also the food was amazing at the tasting but when it came to the event it was not the same dishes we sampled. That was was a huge upset for us especially after we talked it up to our guest.

Unfortunately do to the COVID 19 pandemic we had to change our date and ultimately cancel not only because of the pandemic but also because my husband is military (living out of state) and couldn't travel during this time. Throughout the entire planning process, pre-covid and during pandemic changes, Wendy was absolutely amazing to work with. She answers all communications super promptly and was extremely understanding and sympathetic when we had to cancel. Without much explanation we were able to cancel and get our money back. I am extremely disappointed that we weren't able to have our reception at the CityView at Illinois Terminal but am just as much grateful for Wendy and her warm spirit and understanding throughout it all! Would definitely recommend based on our experience.

Very spacious typical American tavern!…read more We tried more of the not typical American items and it was slightly a miss. I think if I came back I would definitely lean into the typical American stuff because that's probably what they do best (the fries looked really yummy on other people's plates) Shrimp and Scallop Ceviche - this was an appetizer specials that I really enjoyed and highly recommend. Every bite was refreshing! Korean Salmon - Salmon was cooked well and the crust was nice and crispy. Something was just off about the flavor -- the sauce was too salty. Surf and Turf Tacos - decent tacos, would consider getting again Overall in the pricer side but it is a nicer sit down restaurant in Champaign. Comes with free popcorn sampler at the beginning of the meal! The servers were every kind. They unfortunately cannot accept visa gift cards too

Alexander Drake's Catering catered our wedding last summer. My wife and I decided on a music…read morefestival feel for the party and everyone camped out for the night. We asked Alex to bring out the food trailer and cook up his amazing food all night long. He had everything prepared as we had discussed and served our guests from 6pm until 2am. On top of that, he was serving breakfast by 8am the next morning. Our health is important to us, and it was important to convey that through our food menu. Alex met and exceeded our expectations with a menu including delicious fruits and vegetables and amazing chicken and pork. Everything was vegetarian friendly and then our guests could choose to add in the meat. He even made specialty lemonade with dinner and flavored ice coffee with breakfast! We met with Alex on two separate occasions to discuss the food menu. Our guest list was vague, so we had to plan for a wide number of people. And, many of our guests were vegetarian. There was no pressure because Alex gave us the options to go as cheap or as fancy as we wanted-- and he was just as excited to do whatever we threw at him. So, we decided on a moderate price range, and he catered to exactly what we dreamed. Healthy and delicious options that allowed many different combinations... and, although simple, the food is still talked about by many of our friends as, "the best wedding food we've ever had!" Jambalaya, red beans and rice, quinoa and roasted vegetable, grilled asparagus, grilled portabella, pasta salad, pulled pork and pulled chicken breast could be combined in any fashion and served on a plate, on a bun or in a wrap with a variety of sauces. It was a great combination to cover a wide variety of pallets. People were going up six or seven times! Breakfast consisted of biscuits and gravy, bacon, eggs and orange juice. This guy can do just about anything. Alex puts a lot of love into his food. It was very obvious. Plus, he was easy to work with. We developed a menu, figured the cost and he took care of everything else. We knew we had to have great food and great music for our reception. Alex came through with some truly great food. Don't hesitate to put your event in his hands...

Elite Entertainment and Bridal Salon really came through for our wedding 6/15/19!! We loved…read moreeverything about the services we received from them!! The services that we had used from Elite: 1) I bought my wedding dress and veil through Elite Bridal and my mom bought her Mother of the Bride's dress- my mom and I had so much fun finding my dress there- they have COUNTLESS options for all budgets and styles! If you book an appointment in advance I know there is the option to have a VIP experience, I decided to save some money and just went with a regular visit in the afternoon, during the week, and still felt like a VIP!! All of the ladies at Elite Bridal were wonderful and very easy to work with! 2) We did limo through Elite Limos and originally booked the Escalade limo, for a decent price. However, the Escalade had an unfortunate incident with a deer the week before our wedding but Kaitlin & Ryan were very kind and offered to upgrade us for free to the Party Bus or Hummer Limo- we chose the party bus and it was fantastic! 3) We chose to have our DJ through Elite Entertainment and Jeff Blankenship wound up being our guy! We received so many compliments all night on how awesome the DJ and music was and how no one had ever seen so many people on the dance floor through the whole night! Everyone is talking about how much fun they had at our wedding and I think Jeff & Elite Entertainment had a lot to do with that!! Thank you!! 4) We also chose to do Chiavari Chairs through Elite Entertainment, and they were beautiful!! I received a lot of compliments on how pretty they were and really added to the ambiance in the room! 5) Stacy from Elite helped us order tuxes through Jim's Formalwear and all of the tuxes looked great on the guys and they said they were very easy to order. Many of them needed to order them from out of state or far away (more than half actually!) and they also said it was a very easy process. My husband actually needed a different size jacket and vest when he received his in the mail and when he called Jim's Formalwear to get the new size it came in the mail very quickly TWICE!! He received it in the mail in plenty of time for us to get married. All in all- we would choose Elite all over again for the quality of service that they provided. Every interaction that I had with them via e-mail, phone, or in person was equally as personable and helpful. I have heard that some people in the area don't go with Elite because it's too "pricey" but I disagree- if you choose them for multiple services then you end up getting discounts galore! We actually saved money by going with them for so many things AND received high quality and trustworthy services! We ended up having severe rain all day during our wedding and some things needed to be moved around last minute- my aunt who was acting as our day- of coordinator on my behalf said that Elite was very easy to work with and that between her, Kaitlin from Elite, and Caitlin from the Regent (our ceremony and reception location) everything was taken care of! I can't thank all of the Elite Entertainment & Bridal employees enough for everything! We had the best day ever and I know that was in huge part to all of you!!
