The board game/cat cafe has been open about six months now and I finally visited yesterday with a friend. It was a wonderful experience and I'll break it down by the sections: Board game area: It was a Wednesday night, so the game area wasn't too busy, but we had a reservation and each paid $5 for game passes for two hours. They have an awesome collection of hundreds of games, and some of the cat-themed games were for purchase! We were also able to bring our own games, so, if you look at their list (found on their website) and don't find what you want, you can bring one. Cafe: The food and drink selection is limited, but they do have alcohol and some good snacks, if you're interested! You can even bring food and drinks into the cat lounge if you don't feed the cats. Cat Lounge: There were a number of people in the cat lounge when we arrived, but they left when their hour was up. We had only come for the games, but I quickly realized I wanted to see the cats! It was $15/person and we signed waivers to enter. So many cute cats! And they had their pictures and names on the wall so you could ID them! Adorable! They had some toys you could use to play with the cats and it was SO clean in there. It didn't smell like anything - cats or cleaning products! It was my first time in a cat cafe, but my friend had been in a few and he said it was the cleanest one he'd ever been to! Love that! Overall, highly recommend! It was such a cool vibe inside, the cats are all adoptable and you can tell this is a welcoming place! I'm excited to check out their future events and it was even nice that the meters out front had free parking after 5pm! Will definitely be back.

That our giant dog can be taught in the same class as little weenie dogs and still get great results is amazing. She taught me more about my habits with my dogs than anything, and I'm really grateful. We also love Jodie for boarding - truly, so easy, so safe, and we always have a happy dog walking in and very sleepy happy dog coming home. He loves to be there, and we love that he has a spot. Highly recommend!

The staff is not particularly friendly, and while helpful, they leave one feeling as if they are an inconvenience or just plain dumb. The last time I was in, I had some questions regarding specific food for our puppy who needed, per our vet, a food that was more grain-forward, and the girl kept showing me high protein brands. When I questioned her again, she looked at her colleagues and rolled her eyes. It is not unreasonable to expect a feed store to have alternative diet options than just grain-free dog food and treats, especially at the price range they in which they are offering their products. What's more, puppy foods do come in more than just chicken, even in brands than what they offer. I went to another store, who offered to help me order it, and when I reached out to the actual company, they sent me my first bag for FREE! To be a local, small business owner is hard, I get it, but if you continually reject your neighbors, who want to shop at your business, we will just choose to go somewhere else. On another occasion, I was in line behind an older woman, presumably in her late 60's, who was inquiring about a job, she had completed an application, and had some questions. I was not in a hurry, was not upset, and had not expression to indicate that I was bothered - quite the contrary! The young girl at the service counter was so incredibly rude to this woman, snapped answers to the applicant, rolled her eyes, sighed loudly, and showed very visibly her impatience. The applicant walked out, hopeful. The cashier then handed the application to another woman who had walked up, who just slid it into a folder under the desk, and filed it. They both apologized profusely to me for the inconvenience and "bother," to which I replied, it is not a crime to seek employment. I explained that I was not in a hurry, and that we all should show kindness to those who are desperately seeking employment at this time of year. I did note that day that there are no older folks working there, and really no one of diverse background. It is all young girls. Strange really. Anyway, I realized that day, that this is not really a place I feel I want to do business, especially when every time I go in, I do not feel welcome to shop, to ask questions, or think they even appreciate me as a consumer. Too bad, as it is a very niche business and vital for many pet and livestock owners.

Ever since my husband I moved to Champaign we have been going to AHATC and have had nothing but fantastic experiences. Is it more expensive than some other vets in town? Yes. Is it worth it? Yes. Yes. Yes! Dr Stoerger takes care of all of our animals (a Greyhound, cat with kidney disease and until recently, our beloved rabbit.) Dr. Stoerger is one of the most compassionate vet's I've ever had. She is a younger vet, however, she is so intelligent and hungry to learn that you just know your animal is getting the best care available. They also have a VERY experienced vet in Dr. Davis, who Dr. Stoerger will often consult with. Recently, our rabbit passed away and the staff at AHATC were so compassionate and kind that I was taken aback. I recommend AHATC to all of my friends and co-workers.
