I've also worked at a boarding/daycare grooming facility that takes great care of their dogs. So I know what a well cared for facility and dog look like. Pet Palace is beyond filthy. It's old and deteriorating. Dogs don't get let out, or walked. No one is ever there to take care of the dogs. They leave them there in the cages with only just enough food and water to fill the bowls. Leaves the dogs to roll around in their own feces and urine in a cage. Not cared for, no human interaction, no other dog engagement or play. And this can cause destructive behaviors. You'd be better off leaving your dog in a familiar area at your home than at Pet Palace.

I signed up to receive text message updates each day, which included a picture of my little guy and a short text on how he's doing and what he's been up to. All of my instructions regarding feeding and medicine were followed to a T. As a first time pet owner and first time boarder, AAPC really put my mind at ease and I felt that he was safe with them. He even came home smelling like they had bathed him, which I didn't even sign up for or get charged for! AAAPC is easily the best place for your pet to be when you're away.

I cannot speak highly enough of this organization. They are a non-profit, no kill shelter for cats…read moreand dogs. I have personally adopted two dogs from HART over the past several years and these animals are two of the kindest, most gentle creatures on the planet. The description of the dogs' struggles and strengths was accurately described by staff. Both were well adjusted and people friendly. The shelter itself is clean and the dogs appear well taken care of. Staff stayed in the room with me as I met the dog to answer questions and to see the relationship between myself and the dogs. The application is available online and it can be pre-approved before you even see a dog. This really cuts down on the disappointment that the dog you were interested in might be adopted by someone else while they determine your suitability. With both dogs, we were sent home with the heartworm medication that had been started at the shelter. For one of my dogs, that was almost three months of medication. My dogs were both fixed and fully vaccinated. They were both chipped. The adoption fee was a little under $200. Some might feel that is a lot for a mutt a few years old. I'm here to tell you I actually wrote a check for my dogs that exceeded the adoption fee because I was so very grateful for the way they run their business. I want HART to continue to have the ability to to flourish and grow. PetSmart sometimes features their animals during their adoption events in store. You can also give donations to HART at PetSmart during some points in the year. Consider supporting them with your donations and adoptions. It is well worth it.

They have a great, spacious facility at Moongazer, and Lisa was extremely knowledgeable. Our classes were always well-attended, but segregated small and large breeds so the little guys did not get pounced on. There were staff attending to each group to provide individual assistance or advice as needed. My dog graduated Puppy Kindergarten w a certificate, and in that class had mastered virtually all the requirements to go on to be certified as a Therapy Dog in healthcare settings. This was many years ago, and sadly my little guy has passed, but some of my fondest memories of him as a tiny puppy were at Moongazer. In fact, I followed Lisa's recommendations for nutrition brands; years later we realized that had my guy not been on these formulas, he would have succumbed to his latent chronic illness much earlier than the 16yrs we were blessed with him. I saved all the weekly skills training handouts, and feel confident that with these, in addition to our experience at Moongazer, I can train a canine companion in the future. I live across the country now, but was thrilled to find that Moongazer is still thriving all these years later! Peace & blessings for many more years helping animals to train their humans!! ;)

We moved to CA a few years ago and miss Jan a lot! As a note - she is honest with you and you need to be ready for that. She told us, nicely and very professionally, that we needed to brush our boys more or she would not be comfortable grooming them. This was because each time they came in matted she saw the pain on the faces as she brushed them and could not let them through that. She knew we cared about the boys as well so this was something we took the time to work on and fix. Although we don't live there anymore we would recommend Bark Ave to anyone with dogs!
