I called several locksmiths about a spare fob and cut key for my wife's 2005 Lexus. I also called a local Lexus dealer. The dealership wanted $90.00 just for the privilege of placing my old transmitter into a new fob. Adding a cut key would have upped the price to a whopping $200.00. A car repair shop provided me with the name Ambu-Lock and Peter's contact information. Ambu-Lock had the fob and the key for my car in stock. I chose to drive a little and save a lot, rather than having Ambu-Lock make a house call. A new fob and freshly cut key cost half of what the Lexus dealership wanted to charge. The dealership also attempted to bamboozle me into believing that a new key required additional programming. This was completly untrue. I'm a persnickety consumer and, as such, it's extremely rare when I award I business with a 5-star rating. Ambu-lock looks like a great business. The reviews are good. I was even referred by a different locksmith that was too busy to help me. I thought the interactions would be incredibly pleasant. So, wtf happened? Did Peter not handle my case? Did I call the wrong Ambu-Lock? I don't know if I interacted with Peter, but I apparently called the right place. I asked whomever I spoke with to quote me a price to unlock a car. He asked what part of town am I located in, and I replied Snellville. Can you guess what he said next? a) Oh, what part of Snellville? b) We serve parts of Snellville. Can you provide your address? c) [Disgusting contempt] Heh, can you narrow it down a little more? Yeah, sadly the joker chose C. I was floored by the fact that he chose to be rude. I wasn't rude to him. Before I even had a chance to clarify, he went on this stupid rant about how the company serves Dekalb, Fulton, Gwinnett, but not all of each county. Snellville is a really big place. They don't serve all of Snellville. Blah Blah Blah. After trying to get a word in multiple times, I said "Okay nevermind" and hung up before this idiot could finish his stupid rant. If this was the end of the experience, then I likely wouldn't even write a review. Sadly, the experience wasn't over. Mr. Jackass went ahead and proceeded to call me multiple times with his cell phone. When I didn't answer, he decided I wanted to be harassed by text message instead. He gave me a different version of his same stupid rant, and at this point, it's all too surreal for words. Don't do business with Ambu-lock. If you must call them, you apparently need to use *67 to avoid being harassed later. To whomever handled my case: don't contact me again. I will screenshot and post any further unprofessional harassing texts. I will report your violation of the CAN-SPAM act to the FCC. read more

Peter is the man! After 4 businesses walking away, Peter was perseverant and motivated and came 4 times to my house in less than a week to make a key for my bike when no one else could. I called early in the morning after my son lost my car keys. Peter answered the phone immediately and told me he would be there by noon. Despite getting caught in Atlanta traffic he actually arrived about an hour and a half early. Even better he called me when the traffic got bad just to keep me in the loop. When he arrive he immediately went to work and within an hour I had two keys with microchips, programmed and functioning so that I only had to miss half a day of work. We called Ambu-lock in Lawrenceville since the lock on the driver's side of our 2007 Honda Fit failed yet again. The lock would last for about two plus years and then we would be unable to insert the key. It was repaired 3 times by Honda and finally a fourth time by another locksmith where we actually wound up with two keys. And then the locked failed. We learned that it failed because they were not repairing the lock properly (simply shifted wafers around in the lock). We were so fortunate to find Peter at Ambu-lock. He repaired the lock properly (removed the door panel and put in all new wafers- he had to pry one our old ones out) and we are back to a single key that works for all of the locks. Car lock repairs do not come cheap, but Peter was extremely fair, honest, and professional. His repair was excellent quality for the money and cost less than prior repairs that we now know were not done properly. I rarely leave reviews I guess unless I receive superior or extremely poor service. Peter with Ambulock gave me far superior service recently so this is why I am leaving this review. Recently, my car was having brake work done along with some other things. Among the things that I needed done was to have two car door locks repaired. My driver's car door lock as well as my trunk door lock, had a broken off car key stuck inside the locks. My auto repair place wasn't able to simply remove the broken off key pieces from inside the locks. All they could do was to either rekey the door locks or to totally replace both of the locks entirely. Both of those options would be quite costly. My auto shop highly recommended Peter and Autolock. So I called Peter and discussed my situation and he gave me quotes. He is located in Lawrenceville and I am in Dunwoody. Since I am located way outside of his immediate area, there would be a separate charge for him to come to me. I was totally prepared and willing to drive out to him the next day so that this travel fee could be waived. Peter then remembered that he had another job very close to me that same day. Peter completed his other job that day, drove over to my auto repair place and completed my job within an hour's time. Peter called me about an hour after we spoke to let me know that the job was complete and thoroughly explained to me what the problem was, which was that the two car keys that I had been using that broke off as well as the two backup keys that I had been using, had major defects and that is why they broke off in my car locks. He went ahead and made me two new, complimentary car keys and waived the travel fee for me. In addition to that, he oiled the ignition lock and examined the other car door locks for me. He also told me if I had any problems with the door locks and new keys that he made, to call and let him know. Peter went far above and over in providing me with superior customer service as well as doing an excellent job in fixing my door lock problems. He saved me alot of time and money and further aggravation of dealing with the two totally messed up car door locks. Peter is professional, courteous, friendly and very nice to talk to and do business with. He did an excellent job fixing my problem and I have had no problems with my car door locks and keys since then. I highly recommend Peter and Autolock to anyone and everyone.
